My boy needed an op immediately, the staff were amazing, Dr Elie was fantastic, after care was great, they removed a 3 kg tumour, he's 14. He's almost running again. Thanks guys!
I have previously attended Red Gum Vets for yearly vaccinations and found the veterinary nurses and reception staff to be friendly and helpful.
However, I have since become aware that Dr Marcus Wei Sheng Tan is working at the practice. I have read the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT) decision regarding Dr Tan, which found that his conduct amounted to unprofessional conduct involving animals.
Given the nature of the findings I am not comfortable having my dogs treated at this practice employing Dr Tan. I will not be returning to Red Gum Vets while he remains employed there.
I had a very disappointing experience with Red Gum Vets. If i could give them less of one star, I would. Management and staff are not worth a whole star.
I was asked to make payment over the phone to finalise my account. After they did services to a remote town.
I did so immediately and specifically asked whether my account had been paid in full and was told it was on two occasions.
I was never sent an invoice or receipt. Then, a month later, I received an invoice for $444 claiming the account was still outstanding.
I went into the clinic with my bank statement clearly showing the payment made to the vet. Instead of investigating properly, I was simply told they couldn't find the payment.
What has been most frustrating is the lack of customer service from management. There has been no genuine effort to investigate where the payment went or resolve the issue. As the customer, I've provided proof that the money left my account, yet the burden has been placed entirely on me.
Mistakes can happen, but it's how they're handled that matters. Unfortunately, the lack of communication, accountability, and willingness to assist has left me extremely disappointed.
Would not recomend this service in Port Augusta.
Dropped our little fellow there for the day so we could go out and about. He wandered off with the young girl without even a look over the shoulder and was very relaxed and happy when we picked him up. Would use them again when passing through.
Lovely, thorough, friendly and professional vet and team, I really appreciated you fitting Dusty in last minute on our holiday passing through town. Thanks for saving the day!
Friendly very helpfull
Beautiful Place
Friendly as soon as you walk in. Thorough, new what to do first. Explained everything so you understood. Everyone was beautiful, welcoming, and made to feel your pet and you were in the best hands.

The kennels are substandard with nothing but cages in a tin shed and dirt chicken runs. No grass, nowhere to throw a ball or anything, certainly no swimming pool as they advertise. They don't like anyone to see the kennels no wonder. Dylan is a nice guy but that's not enough.
Put my little puppy in for day care and she loved it! Made lots of friends
Poor communication, misdiagnosis, sent for further treatment in Adelaide that wasn’t needed. Formal complaint went no where, no accountability and no proper apology for wasting our time.
Boarding my cat there for 2 nights, fully indoors, easy to book over the phone, 35 a night and everything is provided and a little room to themselves or up to 3 cats if boarding more than one. Morgan and Dylan were very helpful and someone is there every day and it's great to have a vet close by! Haven't got my cat's opinion on his stay yet lol.
Find somewhere else
Don't leave your lives one here. Our 2 dogs, who have been boarded in several areas across Australia were distraught when we picked them up. Totally not recommended.

Redgum are an awesome Vet clinic and pet boarding facility. My Stella just loves them ❤️
Amazing clinic, very caring. So much respect for all personal within clinic ♡ highly recommended this vet clinic
We have been to this clinic multiple times and have always had great experiences. The staff and vets have been lovely and caring with our little boy.
For our most recent follow-up, we saw a different vet (I’m not sure of her name, but I believe she was from the UK) and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. We left feeling unheard, invalidated, and uncomfortable.
Not happy with this visit and hoping to see a different vet next time.
Refusal to euthanase feral cats
On February 4th I arrived with two young feral cats that I had trapped on my property. I asked that they be humanely euthanased, however, the vet refused stating that she “does not kill healthy animals.” What an idiotic, environmentally irresponsible response! The vet seems to have no regard for the thousands of healthy native birds and small animals that are killed by feral cats.
