4TB hard drive failure. Some stuff was backed up, but there were a lot of additional files that I needed to recover. How do you find someone you can trust that won’t make a bad situation worse? I spent a lot of time reading reviews, trying to work that out. In the end, even though I’m in Sydney, I chose Recovery Squad run by a super-helpful chap called Daniel. Courier drop-off nearby made it easy. Daniel contacted me several times with updates through the recovery process, as well as checking whether cost estimates were acceptable. He fully recovered the files I needed onto a new drive which was couriered back. Really impressive service, very good value and 100% trustworthy by a true data recovery expert. Highly recommended if you’re ever in the same situation.

It’s really hard to express how thankful I am for finding Daniel! He made the impossible possible! I was at the point of giving up and calling it quits but I thought to give it one more try with someone else and thank god i found Daniel! So around January 2024 my laptop stopped working and I had around $60,000 worth of crypto in one of the wallets during that time. I didn’t have the password or seed phrase saved properly to access the wallet and I never thought my laptop would just stop working! I took the laptop to a computer repair shop thinking I had an issue with the screen since it wasn’t loading up and I chose them as they had advertised no fix no fee, 30 years experience and that they can do screen screen replacements within the day! Oh boy that was one of the worst decisions I have made! They kept the laptop for 6 months with no solution! It took a few weeks to get the screen as apparently it was an older model. Then when the computer still didn’t load up they gave me a few options for them to try and fix it so it would boot up with the old hard drive with all the accounts saved on wallet extensions on Google Chrome. But as time went one they had excuses for each solution, waiting for parts , technicians away and all sorts. The last possible solution was for data recovery of the files in the computer, hoping that I had the passwords and seed phrases in one of the files. It took another month or so to get an answer regarding that and they said they couldn’t do it!! Communication was terrible!! I was on the brink of giving up when I decided to get a second opinion on it and to find a specialist on data recovery!! The previous repair shop was saying that it couldn’t be done and if they couldn’t do it then no one could! Thank God I decided to get a second opinion and based on there poor communication I had a feeling they were careless and incompetent! As soon as I picked up my laptop I found Daniel and Recovery Squad! Based on there great reviews I decided to reach out! I called another company prior but he said he couldn’t do it and that it was a specialised job and to look for data recovery specialists for Mac! From the get go dealing with Daniel was very pleasant and he seemed genuine and really cared. He was clear the expectations and the process was very straightforward! It did cost more than I expected but there’s a saying you get what you pay for! It took about 2 days for them to inspect it to see whether they could recover the files or boot up the old hard drive as it was with everything saved on there. It took another 2 days for him to recover all the files and provide it in an external drive for me to see if the information I needed was there! 2 days compared to the month I had to wait with no answer!! The information I needed wasn’t there so we proceeded with the next solution to try boot it up as it was. Daniel was clear with the expectations as this is a very difficult job but he had done it before with one of his clients and believed there was a good possibility he could do it. Daniel was communicating with me throughout regarding the progress and information that they needed and it was like communicating with a friend who genuinely cared about the situation! In less than 2 weeks he was able to make it happen! He was able to clone my SSD on time to a new SSD as the original was on the brink of total failure and then used that to boot up the computer as it was previously to recover the wallet information I needed!! Amazing!! I couldn’t have asked more from Daniel and the team at Recovery Squad! Thank you soo much! I wish I found you earlier! Even though I lost a lot of value in my crypto from the 6 months I was waiting, I’m glad I was still able to recoup tens of thousands!! After recording a daily vlog from a 2.5 month overseas hike onto a micro SD card, imagine my horror to find the card corrupted when attempting to transfer the footage onto my desktop. The Recovery Squad, against all odds (I was sure the footage was lost forever) did an amazing job recovering it all!!! Daniel has been fantastic. We had a very old harddrive that unfortunately wasn't fully backed up. This fell whilst using it, and files couldn't be retrieved no matter what we tried. To make it worse, we had a strict timeline (leaving overseas soon) but he was amazingly able to sort this out for us with a very quick turnaround!
