I recently had an appointment at Southern Tier Family Dentistry, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the outstanding care provided by Dr. Mitchener and Shannon, the dental assistant. From the moment I walked in, I was met with kindness and understanding that truly made a difference.
I must admit that I was extremely anxious and even found myself in tears, but Dr. Mitchener and Shannon went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They took the time to explain my treatment plan thoroughly, helping me understand the necessity of each step. This level of transparency and communication was invaluable, especially considering my heightened anxiety.
Despite my fear, the entire experience was surprisingly positive, thanks to the compassionate approach of Dr. Mitchener and Shannon. They were not only professional but also genuinely caring, ensuring that I felt supported throughout the appointment. This is something I have rarely experienced in a dental setting.
What stood out the most was their patience and understanding. They recognized my anxiety and took steps to guide me through the process successfully. It was a significant milestone for me to get through the appointment without running away due to overwhelming fear, and I credit that to the exceptional care provided by the Southern Tier Family Dentistry team.

I don't go to this dentist but my wife does. She is handicapped and uses a walker for support to walk. There are stairs here. She has to use stairs. There is handicap parking for who bc this definitely isn't handicap friendly. Unfortunately she's been coming here for years (her handicap with the walker is recent) so that makes it hard(er) to change to a new facility.

Our 5 year old ran into a friend and hurt her front tooth. It was a Friday afternoon and all the pediatric dental places were either closed or had a full schedule. I called Southern Tier Family Dentistry and they got us in right away. Dr Stuart was wonderful with my daughter who has a fear of all things medically related. He was very calming and explained everything so that she could understand and feel comfortable. On top of that, the bill was incredibly reasonable for an emergency visit with no dental insurance! I couldn't be more impressed with a dental practice.

The best services I have ever received. This office provides a clean environment with a talented and caring staff. My hygienist Marcy always does a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. Shannon is also a very knowledgeable assistant and helps Dr. Mitchener work quickly and efficiently. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dental care facility.
