We finally got around to visit The Queen and Mangosteen and we are glad we drop by before they close at the end of the month, 31st July 2025. This is sad news as we liked the place and enjoyed the food. This restaurant is on my list for quite a while but sadly we didn't get around to eat here until last weekend.
It was not crowded even on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. There where only a couple of people. The staff is very friendly and I think they are from the Philippines. Our order came promptly and the food was well prepared. Being a British restaurant we thought it's best we went for such food.
We had Scotch Egg, Shepherd Pie, Fish & Chips. All are delicious! They serve drinking water at no charge, most restaurant do. The interior is decorated with British theme items. I didn't notice but there is a back section as well as outdoor seating. The restaurant is actually quite big. Food is great.. taste good. I ordered the Scotch Egg just to see what it is. The Shepherd pie is wonderful, minced lamb and mashed potatoes. The potatoes texture is smooth and creamy.. yummy. Most importantly my fiancée like it. Fish and chips is also well made. Typically this is a safe dish but again there are restaurant that messes it up.
It's a shame that they are closing. I wish I had tried it sooner. All the best to the friendly staff.

service and atmosphere is average. Food is not great. Ordered the Eggs Benedict ($20) and Salmon Omelette ($24). Portion sizes are quite small so it’s pretty overpriced, the salads not seasoned nor had dressing. and the bread was still soft. The proscuitto really does not work with the toast as it makes it harder to have the toast, ham might be a better choice. Hollandaise sauce was alright.
Mushroom isn’t sauteed well for the omelette but omelette tasted good but not as fluffy as expected.

Husband and I come here quite often. It’s always have great time here. Every time the staffs are so friendly. Especially Julz, a super friendly guy and Emily, Joan as well. Besides the nice environment with beautiful sea view. The food also delicious, we ordered Sticky Date Pudding this time, so yummy. The date pudding is warm at the right temperature goes well with vanilla ice cream. It’s perfect match. Highly recommended!

Dear Owners,
Please ensure your staffs and customers are comfortable. One of ceiling has stopped working for almost a year and you choose to ignore to fix and recently the second fan stop working as well (bar area), looks like don’t care about your staffs ??? And Customer. Always remember Employee Satisfaction = Customer Satisfaction and follow by Business etc…. When I asked the owner, I was given lame reason (just stop working)
Also your food menu, remains unchanged for years, please do survey and get feedback especially from regular customers, but doubt you know them as your quite selective in choosing who you want to talk too… !!

First time at The Queen And Mangosteen and trying the fish and chips and chicken gumbo soup! Snapper is fresh and batter is well marinated with a slight tinge of beer flavour. Chicken Gumbo Soup is a m a z i n g.
The chicken gumbo soup is definitely a favourite for me even though I generally don't eat celery and that is a really nice surprise for me! :3 Many thanks to Chef Alwin for the yummy food and Jules the manager as well for the amazing service will definitely be back!
