We worked with ProServe on a major addition to our home that included a new master bedroom, closet, bathroom, and study. David was our contractor and he was fantastic. He was professional, easy to work with, and always went the extra mile for our family. If we needed changes or adjustments, he made sure they were done right, and many times he just fixed things himself to be sure we were happy. The project did take longer than we hoped, but that was mostly due to city permits and inspections which is pretty normal for Austin. Budget wise, they did a great job sticking to what was planned. The only increases we had came from city requirements we could not have known about at the start. In the end, we love the finished space and are so thankful to David and the ProServe team. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor who cares about both the work and the people he is building for.

We used ProServe for a recent addition to our home and worked closely with David McCue as well as James McConnell. From start to finish, we had a great experience and highly recommend ProServe to anyone looking to complete a home renovation project. Prior to the reno, our living room had 22ft+ ceilings and while we initially loved the high ceilings that opened to the second floor, we realized over time that the lack of separation and openness meant there was always too much noise in the house, competing TVs (we couldn’t watch TV downstairs while the kids watched their programs upstairs), and not to mentioned the heating and cooling situation was a nightmare. We decided that we wanted to close off our living room ceiling which would give us the separation we were looking for as well as extra square footage upstairs. I reached out to David and he immediately came out to meet with us. He listened to our vision for the space, made some recommendations, and within a few days gave us a ballpark figure for the cost of the project. David then brought in an engineer and architect to put all the plans together which is just one of the many things that I really appreciate about ProServe. A majority of the other contractors I reached out to wouldn’t meet with me until I had plans from an engineer & architect. As someone who’s never done a larger reno before, I didn’t want to spend money on an architect and engineer and then ultimately realize that the cost of the project would be outside of our budget. ProServe took care of everything from bringing in all of the subcontractors to submitting the plans and permits. Once the project began, David was great with communicating with us and providing us with updates. All of the subcontractors that were used were incredibly professional and did a really great job. They were all very accommodating and little things that came up such as swapping out the bathroom vanity last minute or moving a light switch weren’t ever an issue. At the start of the project we were given a timeframe of three and a half months to complete the project and to my surprise, the project finished on time which we really appreciated considering we were living in our home during almost all of the reno. It’s been a year since the reno was completed. We are beyond thrilled with the final product. Not only did we gain the separation that we were looking for, but we also added a small bedroom, media room, and bathroom upstairs. In total we added approximately 360 square feet to our home and it was hands down the best decision we’ve made and money well spent. Everything looks completely seamless. Everyone that comes into our home says that it looks like the house has always been this way. We had a vision for our home that would make it a better fit for our family and ProServe took that vision and absolutely nailed it.

David, James, and Thomas represent the best home contracting company we've ever worked with. After providing a detailed quote, they reviewed it with me on a video call. I requested adjustments to the scope and they made them. They came to my house to review the project agreement line by line. After project kickoff, when complications arose, ProServe handled them proactively. They never cut corners. It was easy to reach David on the phone. Besides the actual work, the guys are pleasant to be around. We fully intend to hire ProServe again.

We recently completed a major kitchen renovation with ProServe, and we are so happy we chose this company for the project. We enlarged the footprint of the kitchen to include a large island and included a walk in pantry. We also got new cabinets, backsplash, and countertops. We replaced 2 sliding doors with French doors and replaced our front door. The project also included new flooring for most of the house and painting the entire interior. We're so glad David McCue was our Project Manager. He kept us informed of all the steps along the way. He assured us all the work would be quality work and he was right. He also chose great subcontractors who did excellent work. As we started the project, we received grant funds from the Veterans Administration to make some significant modifications our house to accommodate my husband due to his service connected disability. This included a wider sidewalk from the back of the house to the driveway and a ramp at the back door. It also included a roll in shower and widening some doorways. There was a 4 inch concrete raised area in the bedroom which had to be demolished to make the floor flat. Thank you to General Manager James McConnell for working so diligently with the VA representative to comply with VA regulations for this project. Also, thank you to David and James for meshing these 2 projects together so a lot of extra time wasn't added to the renovations. Thanks ProServe! We are definitely enjoying our new spaces!!

I had been "transferred" over to ProServe after Longhorn went out of business. From the beginning I was clear, with ProServe, of what timeline and budget I needed. I was assured that they could meet my timeline and that they could work with my budget. I was sent a quote, $12k, over my budget. When I tried to work with ProServe to see other options I was told that they would not work with me. Time wasted, at least not money. Warning to others! *Correction* ... To be very clear, I never said the timeline or budget was a deal killer. I was very clear from the beginning of what was needed for time and budget, they understood and said ok. I have email confirmation that I was looking for about $10k in work. I got quoted $14k then $22k. Naturally, I asked questions. When I asked for clarification before I signed a 15 page CEA, I got hung up on and told that they would email me. This is what I got.... Hey Cynthia, I know that NAME REMOVED was working on putting together a revised quote for you but I think that at this point we need to step back from this project. The size of the project and the added difficulty of having it be a tenant occupied project was already providing enough problems, but we were willing to deal with those where we were at. The timeline you are attempting to hit as well as the scope shrinking is just going to put this project in a category that we dont want to pursue. Nothing personal, it has just turned into a project that falls outside of the parameters of the jobs that we decide to move forward with. If you would like for me to provide a contact for you that might be able to assist you better I am happy to do that. Thank you for considering Proserve Construction and have a great rest of your day. Mrs. Perez, we are sorry that we couldn't get past the estimate phase with your project. We have spent hours building your estimates, visiting your job site, and revising your scope of work trying to get the scope within your budget. As discussed, your requested timeline would not be feasible for the work needed, especially items like custom glass and other work that have a long lead time between measuring, custom building, and installation. We did not say that we wouldn't work with you, but that the scope of work that you are wanting could not fit into the budget you require, plus the timeline you require is not feasible for us to hit. We would rather be upfront with our clients as soon as we get to the point where we realize we cannot meet your expectations. What ProServe will not do is to say "yes" to your requested timeline and budget just to land the job, then miss your timeline and hit you with change orders. We are sorry we couldn't meet your needs on this project and we wish you the best.

Longhorn Construction & Development Powered by TRE (Teifke Real Estate, owned by real estate broker Matthew Teifke & Alex Coffman). Longhorn left me with an unfinished bathroom remodel over 8 months after contract signing, and then notified me they were no longer in operation and would not be completing the project. I was told to reach out to Alex Coffman at TRE Realty to recoup the several thousand dollars I am owed for the work that was never completed when Longhorn abandoned the project. After several attempts my emails and calls to TRE remained unanswered. ProServe Construction, which comes up under this search result, claims not to have any affiliation with Longhorn, having declined to exercise their option to purchase the company.

Mrs. Reid - We are so sorry about your experience with Longhorn. They went out of business and there were a handful of customers like yourself that were financially affected, which is a terrible situation. ProServe Construction has been in business for 17 years and we were looking to expand our abilities to service more clients in the Austin area. Though we did not purchase Longhorn prior to their collapse, we were able to hire key staff and bring the wonderful crews that Longhorn was known for into the ProServe ecosystem. ProServe creates stability and peace of mind for our clients by flipping the way the construction industry works: We only invoice for the work we do AFTER the work is complete, minimizing the financial risks that homeowners usually have when giving contractors big deposits/ draws. I'm sorry we did not have the opportunity to work with you, but please know we are here for you if you need anything else in the future.

James McConnell provided a "desk quote" that was $13k above other estimates. When I asked him to go over it with me and I showed him a 3rd party site that gave very rough estimates of the work I wanted done (complete with illustrations of parts and required build items), he was combative and argumentative. I asked for him to look at the 3rd party rough estimates and tell me the differences between his quote and it. He refused and repeated multiple times "if you found a cheaper quote with someone else, go with them." He then accused me of demanding him to price match the 3rd party website, which I never did. I stated multiple times that there seems to be a wide difference between his quote and the job I want done. He never asked questions to clarify his quote or his preconceived notions of the job I wanted done. When I told him I didn't like how the interaction was going (and this was after multiple emails back and forth just to get the call setup) he became more agitated and said "I only made one mistake" and then told me he wouldn't want to work with me. GREAT! I was thinking the same thing as there was no curiosity about what I wanted and how to verify his quote met my project specifics. It was quite clear that he would not allow me to question or ask clarifying questions of the quote. I was to meekly adopt his viewpoint and its clear misalignment/price gauging. I hope his superiors have a conversation with him about seeking to understand the customer's point of view and finding compromises with projects. Overall... despite the many stars regarding their outcomes, this representative left me with a very bad taste for their company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're sorry to hear about your frustrations.

We take all customer feedback seriously. We understand that you were unhappy with the free estimate quote, and we're sorry that we didn't meet your expectations.

We know there are many sources on the internet providing renovation quotes. Here at Longhorn Construction, we have processes in place including proprietary software allowing us to create quotes that will be upfront and honest from the start of communication. This typically results in less discrepancies throughout the project.
Through the desk estimate process we hope to identify a budget that we believe will satisfy the needs of the project and ensure that we will be the right fit for our clients before entering into any agreements. Again I am sorry to hear of your frustrations, but I am grateful we were able to identify early on that this would not have been a productive project for either party.

Thank you for considering us for your project and I wish you the best in your effort to find the right fit.

This was the first time my husband and I had ever had something professionally remodeled, so we were a little apprehensive. Keith was assigned as our project manager and we quickly learned that we had nothing to worry about. All of the contractors used (plumbing, electrical, paint, sheetrock, etc.) were professional, courteous, and easy to communicate with. Since I work from home, they always let me know when they were done for the day and asked me to come take a look at their progress. It was awesome! If I did run into any issues, Keith was very responsive...no really...when I called it only rang once...every...time! In fact, I probably was the harder one to get hold of! All of our expectations were met in that we did not go over budget, it was top quality work, and an amazing experience. If we have any further remodeling in the future, Longhorn Construction will be our first call!

We worked Keith as our GC for our kitchen remodel and we couldn’t be happier. Keith was professional throughout the entire process and worked diligently at hitting his milestones all the way through project completion. More importantly Keith was able to keep the scope of work around the original estimate and was able to deliver a quality product. We will definitely be working with Longhorn in the future!

A few minutes ago I was dropping my daughter off at the Round Rock library. Due to a construction vehicle, the drive through area next to the library was not accessible and I had to stop along the road. The driver in the white Longhorn Construction pickup truck blared his horn at my daughter and I as she exited my vehicle. I have no idea of the quality of their construction projects but their treatment of others on the road reflects badly on this company.

Longhorn Construction completed our kitchen renovation last year. They took our kitchen down to the studs, moved plumbing (trenched into slab), and rebuilt the whole thing with a new layout. Brandon was our project manager and was always available to chat, offer suggestions, update us on status, etc! We always trusted Brandon through the process, and we are so grateful for that.

My recent bathroom remodel was quite painless due to the professionals at Longhorn Construction and Development. Keith Riley, my product manager, was outstanding in his attention to the project and was always available to answer any question I had. Throughout the remodel every team member was professional in their attention to detail. Keith oversaw the remodel from beginning to end. I will call him for my next project and will recommend Keith Riley and Longhorn Const to everyone.

We just completed a major remodel of our bathroom. We added extra square footage to the house so we wanted to make sure that we were getting professional and quality work so we won't have to worry about foundation issues for years to come. We were really pleased to work with the Longhorn crew and felt very comfortable with the structural integrity of the project. Keith, the project manager, was readily available and helped move the project along. The end results exceeded our expectations. We would certainly use Longhorn construction again for any additional remodeling.
