I rarely leave negative reviews, but I am deeply frustrated by how this business treated my family.
My child’s Ortho-K lenses were ordered together as one custom pair, but the two lenses had manufacturing dates more than three years apart: 09/2022 and 12/2025. I returned the next day simply asking why two lenses ordered together as one pair had such different manufacturing dates. I did not receive a clear professional explanation. Instead, Manager Gina dismissively told me that even a 10-year manufacturing difference would be acceptable, showing very little empathy or concern for my safety worries.
After further discussion, they eventually agreed to order a new pair. I waited nearly two months, only to receive a replacement pair dated 01/2022 and 03/2026—an even wider gap than the original pair. The explanation was that the lenses come from the manufacturer and they “can’t control” the dates.
My main disappointment is not about debating whether the lenses are right or wrong, but about how my concern was handled. After nearly three months, I still had no clear professional explanation, the doctor never became involved, and my child never wore either pair.
Their receipt states “100% satisfaction” and that they are “committed to making it right.” Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
I do want to thank Nashwa, who was patient, respectful, and helpful. I wish management had handled my concerns with the same attitude.

He carefully listened to both of our concerns, tweaked our prescriptions, did a thorough eye exam, changed her transition eyeglasses, my contacts and transition lenses. I would highly recommend the office. True professionals and warm and friendly! The eye glass selection is good and they cut they lens in the office. Top notch quality, and service. What more could you ask for?

I’m sorry to say I need to update this review. I was seeing an optometrist who was the only one who worked with my specialty lenses, and one time I showed up for my appointment and she wasn’t there. Someone had left an unclear message earlier that she wouldn’t be there but when I called to confirm the staff said she was there but turned out she wasn’t—there was clearly a problem with communication. More recently this doctor left the practice and I wasn’t notified until I tried to make an appointment with her which made me scramble to find another doctor. I’ve also been confused by billing and can’t get a hold of anyone to talk to about it. Lastly, when I was trying my specialty lenses the first time they didn’t have the equipment there for me to be able to wear them home, nor did they have thorough enough instruction on how to care for them or a recommended schedule in getting used to them. The doctors are very good and well trained, but I think this office is fine if you have straight forward optometric needs and easy insurance, but if there’s anything complicated medically or insurance wise things can get a bit confused. They are very nice though and did take the time to try both my vision and medical instance to get my specialty lenses covered in the first place, for which I’m grateful.
Dr Saferstein, the other optometrists, and the office staff are all fantastic. They’re kind, accommodating, efficient, and knowledgeable. I have a rare corneal disorder and they know how to handle it—I was able to see them in an emergency. I take my kids here to. I can’t recommend enough.

Nice doctor , but front desk staff should be ashamed, they are rude , bad aptitude, and don’t answer the. Phone, left VM and never received a call back. . I get wrong prescriptions for my lenses , I didn’t get any refund , no even an apology, and on top of that, they order another lenses , and I received the lenses for the left eye only . Very bad experience, I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

I had hoped that it wouldn't come to this but it has. After exhausting myself with pleas for help from the practice's billing team (due to their billing incompetence), I am choosing to write this review. This is the classic "provider vs practice" conundrum: Dr. Saferstein was thorough, efficient and expert in his treatment of me. Its the office and billing staff that falls way short of expectations. I was upcharged, overcharged and charged for add-ons I never approved. Moreover, I did not walk out with an itemized receipt, which should have been the first red flag, and never received the promised email receipt (second red flag). I gladly paid over $1K that evening for what I had hoped was an honest exchange of services for payment. Turns out that they never submitted the claim properly to my insurance and charged me much more than the insurance contract stipulates. At first I believed that bringing this to their attention with EOB vs receipt (the receipt that I had to repeatedly ask for, red flag 3, but ultimately makes sense as to why they didnt want me to see it). Expecting a roughly $300 refund, I heard nothing. I heard passing the buck, I heard a lack of expertise, but didn't hear accountability. Thus, I filed a complaint with the insurance company and will let them deal with it. I am also contesting the entire charge with my credit card company. Let the practice justify the overcharge to them if they don't want to deal with me. IMO, the support that the practice gives to the provider can be a make or break in patient volume. Sadly, there are other Low Vision providers to choose from, try one of them.

The Office staff is horrible. They charge you a whole lot of money even though I told them I don’t have to pay out-of-pocket anything. My insurance company will pay it, but I had to pay it. They wouldn’t let me leave then they charged my insurance company so they got paid from me and my insurance company sent them a check now I’m trying to get my money back and I call and I get excuse after excuse they are terrible. I will never go back there again.
