Staying at Cappetta is like stepping thru a time machine. At first impression from the outside and the foyer, the place looks like it's not been updated since 1991, and that feeling persisted throughout the stay.
The room seemed okay-ish for the 1990s but when I looked a little closer I noticed that there was a hole in the bathroom door, the toilet seat didn't want to stay in place and the closet door felt like it wanted to give up and drop to the floor.
We were there for a 1 night stay with spa, which gave access for exactly 2 hours to the spa facilities: 1 Turkish bath, 1 sauna and a swimming pool. Now I may be spoiled coming from Northern Europe, but wellness treatments should not have a clock running. Worse, the facilities, except for the pool, were mediocre. The Turkish bath didn't have any squishies to clean your bench, there weren't enough showers and the floor was dangerously slippery. I saw a (cold) bucket shower in the corner, but found out after my sauna that that didn't work. The coldest water available was a tepid shower that you could get to only by waiting in line, which took forever. I ended up submerging in a narrow foot bath to get my temp down... Anyway, they have lots to learn about saunas at Cappetta.
Dinner would have been funny if it hadn't been so sad. The service was super fast (we had to pick from the menu at check-in), like they couldn't wait to get us out of there. The food was something out of a 1970's cookbook and had the look and consistency of how I remember my school dinners. I'm sure the servers are all nice people in daily life, but I didn't see a single smile on any of them. The whole experience left me feeling like we were all just meat in a grinder.
Breakfast was already laid out as we left post dinner. Not sure why they'd do a thing like that. Almost like they want you to know that they couldn't be bothered to work in the early morning...? Anyway, it was all very weird and not very good. They had some evening entertainment set up, a lady singing some pop songs. By that time we were done with the place and retired to the room to sleep, so despite this lady having a good singing voice, it ended up being more a disturbance than anything else.
The stay was a gift to my partner, so we were very sorry to have to tell out friends that they should avoid gifting stays to this place in the future.
