A SHAME Don't stop at the charm of the ancient residence. From the outside it looks like a beautiful luxurious building that deserves the 4 stars that distinguish it, but the reality is different. Very different! We start with the welcome: I had asked to be able to have the room at 2.00pm via booking and the owner had reassured me that it was possible. Once I arrive I am told that the room will be ready at 3.00pm, never mind, I leave my suitcase and go for a walk around Ferrara, I return at 3.50pm and ask if they have already brought my suitcase to my room. "They only finished it now... The suitcase is still here" and I carry it alone. Small room and tiny shower. The water in the shower drips, the mixer doesn't work, meaning that the water goes from scalding to freezing in just a few millimetres. In the night, stinking mosquitoes torment me. I find the electric oven in a drawer but there is no plate. I sleep little and badly accompanied by buzzing and itching. Finally, when I go down to the breakfast room, I stumble on the loose and unsecured stair runner, I didn't roll down the stairs because I was holding on to the handrail! Arriving in the beautiful breakfast room, there was total squalor. The beautiful bar counter cluttered with cups, cups and residues of jam jars. The choice of the buffet is typical of a railway boarding house: terrible salami and slices of plastic cheese, rubbery sandwiches from the day before. The brioches are saved. There is no orange juice or even scrambled eggs, despite the label indicating them. The only waitress for a service of dozens of tables is out of breath and mortified, she apologizes by saying that the juicer and gastronorm plate for the scrambled eggs are broken. How it can boast 4 stars is a mystery. Stay away❗

Not a 5 star hotel Hotel that cannot be considered a five star. Breakfast did not live up to the expectations of a five-star hotel. Staff was unprofessional and unhelpful to the needs of customers (when I asked to close the window in the breakfast room, I was told that I could close it, which I had to do). to do in spite of myself).
