I just received my 1890 Steinway Model C rebuild from PianoCraft. The piano is amazing. There are no words to describe how well this instrument turned out. Communication with Keith was fantastic the whole time. The action is well regulated, the hammers voiced beautifully and the finish magnificent. I would highly recommend this store owned and operated by professional pianists who really know the instrument.

I wanted to buy a re-built Steinway. My piano tuner, here in the Midwest, tunes the pianos for the opera house, symphony, etc and so knows all the best pianos in town. He told me if I am going to buy a re-built piano, go for gold and go to PianoCraft for the best re-built pianos that are better than a new one. He was right! Not only is our piano from PianoCraft amazing, but the customer service has been THE BEST, and Shaun goes above and beyond. It is peace of mind to have a PianoCraft re-built Steinway that we will treasure for years to come.

My rare 1887 Steinway C has been in my family for decades. For the past several years it has been an attraction in my music studio. Recently, it has been in the care of PianoCraft for several months. This past weekend the instrument was delivered to my studio and we are thrilled to have it back home and in brilliant condition. I was concerned that the rich, subtle sounds of this old instrument, especially the lower register, would not be disturbed while renovations brought the piano back to its optimal condition. After extensive discussion with Keith we determined what the correct repairs would be to satisfy my specific requirements. The restoration brought the instrument to a performance level it may never have seen. The action and voicing are even and the sound is gorgeous. I look forward to years of enjoyable and magical performing and recording on this renewed instrument. I feel confident anyone can trust PianoCraft to competently care for their valuable instrument.

The service and tuning were excellent. I accidentally gave them a bad rating when I was asked to rate them. I meant to give them 5 stars, but didn’t understand how the system worked.

I have a 90 year old piano that has been in my family for many generations. After all those years and several moves, it was ready for an overhaul. Because it's been in the family so long, the piano has major sentimental value, so I asked a musician friend for her recommendation for where to get the piano restored. The piano's manufacturer has long since shut down, but PianoCraft was totally up for the challenge which included custom fabricating a number of parts. They spent 15 months restoring the piano both inside and out. The results are phenomenal. The sound is amazing, and the repairs to the case and finish are flawless. This was a significant investment, but the quality of the work is outstanding. I could not be happier with the result.

Keith was so gracious and helpful with questions via email I had about a piano, and I don't even live close to him. Went out of his way, even when he had nothing to gain!

I’m now on my third grand piano from PianoCraft, having bought the first over ten years ago and traded up twice. I have great respect for how hard owners Keith Kerman and Shaun Tirrell work to match each pianist with the instrument that best suits their needs. They have a great selection of fine pianos of every size and at every price point. I particularly recommend their rebuilt pianos, which often are great values and actually superior to the new instruments of that type. I can’t recommend PianoCraft enough! I was searching in the DC area for a grand piano to replace my century old Mason & Hamlin, when PianoCraft was recommended to me by a precious customer. Keith was a delight to work with. He gave me a very informational and interesting tour of the restoration workshop before giving me free rein to explore their selection of new and used pianos. He showed me a newer Mason & Hamlin on consignment, and I fell in love instantly! He was very helpful with navigating the financial aspects of buying a piano and responsive to my calls and e-mails. My new piano was delivered within the week without any issues. It played even better when it arrived than in the store! 10/10 recommend.

Julio at PianoCraft just tuned up our Steinway after, I’m ashamed to say, 2 1/2 years of a Covid hiatus. It sounds like a dream! PianoCraft also refurbished the piano when we first purchased it from a neighbor and made it sound great again. Can’t recommend highly enough!
