Peasant is without a single doubt one of the most wonderful dining experiences I have ever come across. I try to visit every season to experience to wonder of it all, and it never fails to impress me a new each time. The food is indescribable, the service is top notch and I always walk away completely satisfied as if I have just spent an evening being looked after by loved ones. I’m a massive fan and advocate for these guys. I hope 2024 is bigger than ever for them!

We had the 3 course Christmas Lunch set meal. Duck terrine, lamb steak, and spiced fruit parfait with poached stone fruit. A generous serving of terrine, wonderful flavours, the lamb was cooked to perfection. The dessert was delicious, out of this world. Highly recommended.

Outstanding and getting better. As Ballarat locals we've been to Peasant a few times now. Coming off a pretty high base we didn't expect a continued upward trajectory but have been delighted to experience it. The food (and wine) is first class and the service is attentive but comfortable. Try the cocktails, they're delicious.

It is such a pretty restaurant to sit in and they make a genuine effort to source local ingredients. The chicken was so tender it flaked apart like fish on my fork. The potatoes were amazing - I could have eaten a whole meal of them. When dessert came I was only sad there wasn't more, but then again I couldn't have fit it in even if there had been. The only draw back is we couldn't get the cocktail I wanted because one of the local ingredients couldn't be sourced, but the alternative suggested was absolutely delicious, and that's to be expected when working with small batch local producers. I would 100% recommend.

I dined at Peasant on the first night of BOWL, the à la carte experience. The food was hearty and substantial. The duck rillette was a well-conceived dish. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere-wise, it was a little dark for me.
