Self Made Training Facility started out as a phenomenal place to reach your goals. People were great and atmosphere/vibe was positive and energetic. However once HQ took over the gym it went down fast. No longer were supplements stocked on shelves, water and energy drinks depleted, protein snacks gone. Vibe and moral went down, and due to poor business decisions trainers and clients have left leaving just a shell of a building. So sad!!!

We we’re introduced to SMTF by our amazing trainer Megan Naymola!🤩 Who is the kindest, most patient, humble and knowledgeable trainer I have ever met in my entire life. I feel the same with her new home “Self Made Training Facility” in Palm Springs, California. I have lived in the EastCoast (N. VA & NC) and all over the WestCoast and this training facility is the BEST training gym I have ever seen in my entire life!!! It has everything. Every type of Equipment. Boxing gym. It’s beyond CLEAN & The positive energy is contiguous!! EVERYONE is so kind & friendly when you walk in. Who likes to go to a snobby or intimidating gym? Not Me!! When Megan brought me to this beautiful state of the art facility I was a little shy. I’m a 50 plus woman, running a business of over 15 Independent Contractors and my fitness days felt long gone and last on my everyday priorities. Megan customized my fitness routine to my goals and experience and truly has helped me not give up on Myself. No matter how busy I get. I actually enjoyed our twice a week sessions because I knew she was putting me first when I wasn’t. When I’m out of town, Megan provides online coaching and is constant communication about my nutrition as well as my weekly routine. Which makes me push myself more on my own. I just wish I could afford Megan EVERY DAY lol. But, beyond grateful her prices are affordable so I can train 2-3 times week! Thank you coach for everything!! Megan has been helping me with my personal goals as well as understanding of my finances, it’s nice she works with me and my budget. I have been coming here for almost a year and WOW what a change! Their facility is clean and doesn’t have that “gym” smell with the sweat and B.O. All of the trainers I’ve come into contact with have all been super nice and have given me compliments over the year that have made my day. From in person to social media, I feel very supported. The person I have been going through is Megan Naymola. I was very weary coming in and being judged bout how out of shape I was in and if I could keep up. She has been nothing more than amazing and super supportive. She knows how to push me, even on the days I’m not in the best headspace. Megan also created a meal plan for me as well and that has been SUCH a huge help. I’ve built so much muscle and lost a large amount of weight. I haven’t been working out too long at this gym but I really like it! It’s big enough to not feel cramped but small enough to feel comfortable. Everyone has always been friendly and the equipment is always well taken care of! Love going here and love the privacy! UPDATE 2/15/24- Continuing to love going to this gym! Always the friendliest atmosphere with both trainers and the clients, equipment is clean and the privacy and comfort is still the best. It has been more than a year now that I’ve been going to this gym and it makes it easier to make progress when the atmosphere makes you feel good. My personal trainer Angel has definitely made the process of this whole journey super fun and I’m grateful for everything he has taught me so far. I really appreciate his flexibility and dedication to training me and I look forward to continue training with him! Highly recommend this place and highly recommend Angel as a personal trainer!

Working with Angel O. on a weekly basis is incredibly motivating and he keeps me on top my game. The facility is very spacious and clean. I am new to weight training and started about five months ago. I am visiting Palm Springs for 3 months and wanted to keep my routine going. I looked into working out at the Self Made gym in Palm Springs and boy did I find a gem! To start with Angel Orozco lead me through a video review of the gym and answered all my questions. He helped me feel comfortable about joining for three months. When the time came he followed up with me to confirm my arrival and then on the first session led me through an introduction to the equipment and its purposes. I had not used this type of equipment before so he wanted to make sure I was using it correctly for maximum benefit. Angel is very professional and is a great trainer giving me encouragement and being personable all at the same time. He has taught me many new things and I have increased my strength over my old program. I am very happy I met him and am following his advice. Angel and the gym are both outstanding and highly recommended.

This is a two part review, one of the facility and another of a trainer. The facility is the first part: 1. Facility Rating: 2/5. The facility is very nice, every piece of equipment you can think of & then some. However, there is a real lack of identity… it’s advertised as a “trainers only” gym, but then there will be hordes of people there clearly without a trainer. I’m talking the fire department, high schooler night, hell even people from the local barbershop are cruising through there randomly. It’s 100% not a trainers only gym. It creates a weird atmosphere for sure. Plus, the location is not great at all. You’ll pass multiple gyms with more equipment & access before you hit this one. 2. Trainer 1/5. was trained by Angel Orozco for little under a year. Outside of his open displeasure with how the gym is run and the other trainers he has to work with. He was excellent to a point. He lacks variety in exercises and equipment forsure. Up to a point where we decided to end the relationship due to his egregious behavior. My spouse and I were just honestly shocked. This is a franchise facility, and I do not think they should allow a trainer with this behavior to operate out of here. I did contact the franchise owner & the director of the franchise regarding this. If you decide against your better judgment & book, everything must be on a hard copy of paper which is dated and signed - review the agreement carefully. Overall rating: Do not recommend.

Recently trained with Angel Orozco and let me tell you… 11/10. If you want a trainer that will push you but also take care of you and take into consideration what you say and/or feel he is the one for you. Great environment, Great trainers, great facility. Equipment for every type of muscle group. Gym is never over populated and greatly ran by all the staff that work in the facility.
