We really enjoyed working with Brian, Jenny, Robbie, and their whole crew! Throughout the design and building process, they were very receptive to our ideas and also had great input of their own which we adopted and implemented. They were easy going, friendly, hard working, and made a typically stressful process an overall enjoyable experience for our family. We truly love our home and are very thankful to have found Cool Mountain!

Cool Mountain Construction remodeled our 100 year old farmhouse and while this was not your standard request, as Cool Mountain is known for their gorgeous new builds, Brian and his crew performed beyond my expectations to assure that what they created was exactly what I wanted. They asked all the right questions, were absolutely attentive to detail, and were vigilant and exacting in providing the best quality work. The results are beautiful, practical and holding up well to rugged daily use with life with 3 kids and 4 dogs. I highly recommend Cool Mountain Construction.

Brian, Robbie and Josh worked diligently in making our 100yo farmhouse fixer upper into a home that looks like it belongs in a hallmark movie. We were impressed with their knowledge, ability and work ethic as they helped us achieve our dream. We have the utmost confidence that due to their work, our house is set up to make it another 100 years and our family will make wonderful memories together in it.

I had a great deal of apprehension about the prospect of having our new home built. I've heard plenty of horror stories. I didn't know Jenny & Brian from Cool Mountain until we met to explore what they could offer. From the beginning, right through the building process we felt like we were in good hands. We chose Cool Mountain over several other builders for a variety of reasons and we haven't regretted it. I'll give one quick example of why I give 5 stars. Recently I had my septic tank drained. We have a pump system, and the company that serviced us checked out the septic pump and told me it was a high quality pump. I wouldn't have know that, and Cool Mountain could have installed a lesser quality pump, but went instead for one that will last much longer.
Brian and Jenny were a phenominal team to work with! The building process with them was enjoyable and the outcome was a beautifully constructed home which has been a blessing to us.
Very professional business, contractor was always reachable and responsive. They were very accepting of our preferences, such as when we requested specific support beams and they provided them without question or change order. Their own suggestions were helpful and didn’t affect cost. Subcontractors were very good, on time and efficient. We are very happy with the results.

Hi Barbara, Every time you call us we come out and fix what you need fixed. A few months ago your window wouldn't lock and we sent someone over to fix it. Right now 4 years later Robbie is coming over to replace caulk on your counter tops. After you moved into your home a spring came up under your house and you had a have a sump pump put in. That was mother nature. You also hired someone to put in a water filtration system and they cut off a plumbing pipe to put there drain in. Because of that when your toilet backed up it backed up in your crawlspace. We couldn't have never gotten a final home inspection with that pipe the way it was. We are here to help 4 years later. You have a beautiful home.

We hired Cool Mountain Construction to complete the build of our new home in Fairview. Throughout the 10-month-long process, Brian and his crew were on site every day overseeing the work, supervising the subs, and making sure the project moved along according to our tight schedule. Working within the rules of our HOA was not always easy but they worked diligently to keep the project moving forward. No build is simple, but Brian was always willing to sit down and work through any issues that came up and was always available to address our questions. I would highly recommend Cool Mountain Construction for a home build or renovation!

They did a tremendous job building our log home... connected us with a great architect, put together a good plan and built a quality home. Brian and Robbie treated the project like it was their own homes. It was great to find a builder who cares, who is fair and operates with integrity. Highly recommended!
Huge mistake hiring Cool Mountain, and since we’ve been living in the house for 7 months now and it is still not properly finished and the punch list not completed I am reminded of that mistake every day when I drive up my cracked and pitted driveway to my brand new house, force my ill-fitting front door open and walk into my living room to take in the mountain view through windows that have leaked for 4 months now and are framed by missing trim and a sheetrock wall that had to be torn down and cannot be fully repaired until the leaky windows are fixed.
Builder showed up late to final walkthrough, could not explain operation of heated floors or water heater, and had not already performed basic functional testing of windows (some didn’t work), heated floors (they didn’t work), etc.
They removed markings that were put up for paint blemishes during final walk through, then removed them a second time after we put them back up. They painted around- not under- switch covers.
We signed a bid for septic installation (cost-plus type allowance item) which Cool Mountain later refused to honor, reneged, and required us to resign at a higher price.
I have a letter from a licensed Professional Engineer stating the driveway fill was improperly compacted and unsustainable. His assessment is that it will without doubt fail. The builder reviewed this letter and promised us he would correct it. That was a lie—he decided to do nothing. I have an estimate for $180K to repair properly.
They allowed a small leak at my water meter to go unreported which led to a huge leak which they also never reported to me. I was notified by a neighbor who had to shut the water of himself. Cool Mountain was neither sorry, nor accepted any responsibility. The superintendent said they are not responsible for their subs.
Allowance balance sheets were frequently incorrect, and some accounting fluctuated from one to the next.
The builder wrote a message that they would not be challenged to complete their punch list on time and have made multiple assertions in writing and in public forums that they are not motivated to return to honor their warranty or to correct their defects.
We cannot say enough good things about Brian and his team at Cool Mountain Construction. We interviewed several builders in the area before coming to the Cool Mountain office. From the first time we walked in the door we felt welcomed and knew we could trust the Brunet's. They priced out a couple house plans before we agreed on the best one for our budget. Throughout the whole process, the Cool Mountain Construction team was professional, conducted themselves with integrity, were completely transparent with our budget, and listened to our requests and concerns. I had very specific design requests and they were happy to accommodate all my aesthetic ideas. When something couldn't work or fell outside of our budget, they communicated the issue fully so that we could come to a compromise. We moved in 6 weeks ago and could not be happier with our home! Extra special thanks to Brian, Jenny, and Robbie- this is a great company with even better people. We would recommend Cool Mountain Construction to any prospective client in the Asheville area.
