As far as I can tell, the "future listings" feature uses the "a broken clock is right twice a day" method. It appears they just list select (maybe even random) apartments with coinciding lease expirations according to Street Easy. Yes, most people wait for their lease to expire before moving, and, yes, some percentage of these will actually come on the market--but there is no reason to think that the ones they list are more likely to hit the market than the average apartment with a lease renewal coming up. Also, I don't think the "courtesy of" brokers they list necessarily have any connection to the unit. I got really excited about a "future listing" in the East Village, contacted the "courtesy of" broker who said she was happy to represent me for a fee of one month's rent, but who had no connection to the unit that interested me. I then figured out the building's management company who referred me to their broker--he said the unit was not available and doubted it would be anytime soon. He also laughed when I told him I heard about the apartment on Openigloo. There's value in knowing which buildings have stabilized units, but that's all the "future listings" section is telling you (and you can learn that elsewhere). I think it's a very misleading feature and I'm not sure Openigloo has much to offer overall.

Take this website "with a grain of salt". They allow disgruntle tenants to post untrue & false things about the landlord (me) without providing the Landlord to give his or her story. It appears they just want tenants to post to boost their revenue $$$

He let me know about which electric and gas company I would need to contact and provided their contact information. And lastly, he was able to get me the keys to my apartment 2 days in advance of the original date

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE / PAY. They do not have cancel option on the portal, so you will get charged EVERYDAY because they have a daily subscription. This is by far the most scammy company I have ever come across and it is clearly illegal to not allow people to cancel like this.
