My mother was diagnosed with cancer and was being treated ( not really treated) never got to start treatment because of the lack of what i consider urgency. Had to wait several weeks for her to start treatment because family members had to go to a "family" appointment to be educated on what she had and what to expect. A week went by from last appointment because they said they had a lot of other family's to get scheduled for the same thing before we were scheduled for this which wasn't scheduled for two weeks later. In that time she had difficulty with breathing and was supposed to have a procedure done that may help with that issue. Apparently the fax machine at the place Katmai was trying to fax or Katmai fax? Don't know the referral to wasn't working, a day went by so i went and picked up the referral which was a Friday and hand delivered it to the place she needed treatment at. So she went a weekend having real difficulty with breathing and then got a call that an appointment was set for Tuesday Why in the world with today's technology are they using a fax machine to send treatment referrals ? They can't be sent through and email? Why didn't they hand deliver it???????? oh by the way she died that Tuesday , several hours before her appointment. Would the procedure have help her??? Who knows, but what i do know is it seemed like they just don't care, don't have any urgency in what they do. I get it cancer isn't good. But in my opinion they could do a better job and maybe try to at least appear like they cared.
