My family of 5 (including 8, 7 and 1.5 year old) visited this amazing home for 3 nights in July. The logistics of getting all our gear in was half the fun. Matt met us at the car park to guide and assist and Amy was ready at the home with chilled towels after the hike. We took short hikes to explore every day but did not leave the property during our stay. Our family found the home so well thought out and comfortable. We marveled at how the Fusion house was built where it stands! Even though there is no AC our kids never complained, the height of the home made for a comfortable temperature and humidity. We enjoyed relaxing in the upstairs indoor space during a hard rain and even saw a toucan hopping through the trees. What a treat! This unforgettable experience would not have been possible without Matt and Amy’s support. If you’re looking for an ‘off the beaten’ path adventure I highly recommend The Fusion House!
We stayed at Matt and Amy's incredible home in the rainforest for 6 nights. They were welcoming and provided all the information we needed to make the best of our stay.It is true, it is tricky to get to. The road is bumpy (4x4 a must), the river is definitely a challenge (but a fun one) and the walk up to the house tests your stamina especially in the humidity. It is all worth the challenge and adds to the adventure. Amy welcomed us with cooling towels at the door and Matt helped us navigate the journey. The house is stunning with incredible views of the treetops and across the valley. The squirrel monkeys kept us waiting until the last morning but then they bounced through the trees and played outside our window. The gentle breeze in the evening is beautiful and the sounds of the rainforest as you snuggle down in bed adds to its uniqueness. If you like crowded, busy towns with lots of shops, this is not for you. If you are looking for an adventure in a stunning environment book now.
Matt and Amy were very nice hosts. The house was very nice and clean and above all it was very peaceful. If you are someone who loves going on walks, hiking, and fully being involved in nature, then The Fusion House is perfect for you. There was as well a stream when going down the Fusion House where you can relax and swim in. I really recommend this place to people who want to be in peace and surrounded by nature.
If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience, this is it.
The treehouse is located in the middle of the jungle. From the main road you have to drive a very steep road uphill for about 20 Minutes. So a 4x4 is a must, and of course the courage to drive such a road. After we had arrived at the parking lot, Matt welcomed us and guided us to the treehouse. We had to cross a ten meters broad river. The water was about 20 centimeters deep. After that we hiked uphill for about 10 minutes until we arrived at the treehouse. The treehouse is modern and in very good shape. The beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. There was basic supply like salt, pepper, oil, balsamico and coffee. This was very nice for us, because we cooked there two times for dinner.
Each room has a fantastic view over the jungle. The bathroom, too. When you shower, it feels like you are showering in the middle of the jungle. Our favorite: The view from the rooftop terrace . It is awesome.

What a wonderful place to stay to experience the solitude of the Costa Rican jungle. Matt and Amy are amazing hosts, the house/view is stunning and the surrounding jungle is a blast to explore. The beds and linens were top notch and our family was very comfortable. We loved spending our mornings on the upper deck watching the birds and drinking the great Costa Rican coffee. We left with fabulous memories.
The pictures do not do this place justice!!! It is gorgeous! Well worth the hike to get there. If you are adventurous and looking for an amazing experience this is the place for you! Getting to and from is an experience - but absolutely worth it! Luxurious everything at the end of the hike. This place is unlike anywhere else in the world - I cannot recommend it enough. We just briefly met Matt and Amy, but we love them already. So helpful and friendly - and very responsive! Don’t hesitate, just book
I am completely amazed at how great Matt & Amy were and just breath taken at the location of the home. Matt was extremely helpful and was very responsive. He made us feel like family keeping our non-jungle selves so comfortable at this beautiful home. This was a very humbling experience and I’m extremely grateful to have done this. Will most definitely recommend and come again! Thank you Matt and Amy! Matt you rocked it!!!

Awesome unique place to stay. Located off the beaten path and so peaceful. Definitely recommend water shoes, walking poles and a backpack cooler! The hill up to the property is no joke but seemed to get easier each day! We split our time in CR between the Fusion House and a beach Airbnb and it was the perfect mix! The hosts are super helpful and knowledgeable.
My wife and me have been in the house of Amy and Matt for two nights. It is very important to know that the way up there is not easy, you definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and must be fit to go up the hill to their home the last 15 minutes.
Once you are up there, you'll discover an experience of its own class. There is nobody and nothing that will disturb, it is indeed wild. The house Amy and Matt have build up is without any example. We still are deeply impressed by the personality and the power these two guys have. Instantly we fell in love with their art of living and loving, very impressed of what they build up. The house and our stay there was definitely one charma-step ahead, the architecture together with the loneliness leaves you breathless.
BOOK NOW! Matt and Amy have created a once in a lifetime remote experience that is a must-try. On one hand you are in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by 10/10 sunsets, trees, and toucans; on the other hand you have Wi-Fi, Netflix, and recess fans above your bed. The trek to the home is no joke, both in respects to the drive and the hike. But it all adds an adventure element to the trip that cannot be compared. We are already talking about coming back. Thanks again Matt and Amy!

Words are not enough to describe the property Matt and Amy have built! I would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t want to experience the comfort of a luxury stay, while being completely immersed in a wild ethereal environment.
By day: Adventuring the rainforest and admiring the nature within, followed by a well deserved, refreshing dip in the river (or plunge pool!!!)
By night: a golden hour experience on the deck while enjoying a good book and cerveza or two, followed by a movie night (and not to mention the best night sleep ever thanks to the ambience of the rainforest and most comfortable beds!!)
The cherry on top is how wonderful people Matt and Amy are. Their company is an absolute pleasure! I would recommend this stay to anyone - I hope you’re ready for a workout!

First off, wow! It's definitely off the beaten path, and everything about the property is fantastic. We were totally immersed in nature. We saw so many species of birds and wildlife from the balconies. The views are breathtaking. Matt and Amy were extremely pleasant and helpful. We can't say enough good things about them.
A couple of things to note. We're approaching our 60s, and trekking poles were helpful getting up and down the hill to the house. In addition, la Perla del Sur was a very good tour operator for Corcovado, and Bosque del Rio Tigre led an excellent birding adventure. If you're a birder, go to la Gamba at Piedras Blancas. Don't feel pressure to leave, though, as there is much to see and do right from the house. The river crossing to the property can be its own adventure, which we enjoyed walking thru to some beautiful falls. In short, if you're looking for some of the beauty of Costa Rica and the local culture, this is the right place!
