2024 update:
We have been here several times since our 2017 post, but now, in 2024, this restaurant has seemed to go downhill. Our sever was great but the management not so much. We waited 40 mins for seafood, which is my favorite, and it came out cold. I sent it back for it to come back out 5 minutes later, still cold, and when I spoke to management, a gentlemen with an accent. He yelled at me in front of other guests about how I was trying to get over. Mind you, our bill was almost $80, and I only asked the gumbo to be removed because they brought it out twice cold. It was embarrassing and very disappointing since I recommended this place to everyone who goes to New Orleans. I left, still hungry and embarrassed.
My husband and I ate here with a friend on June 17, 2017.. The wait to get in the restaurant was about 30 minutes, but homework 852-9086Bourbon St on a Saturday night, so a wait was expected.. Once inside, sitting was quick.. The food was great! It came out hot and filled with flavor. My favorite was the seafood Gumbo.!! I ate a cup with my dinner, which was the fried catfish plate, but i loved the gumbo so much i got a to-go bowl of Gumbo.. And we just got off our cruise today June 24, 2017 and thinking about stoping there again on the way to the airport to get another to-go Gumbo!!!
Went for brunch so we were able to look at both menus. They have quite the selection. Everything sounded good and what we ordered ended up being very good. Place is a little touristy but the food is still good and I have no complaints. Only thing is I’m not sure why the shrimp and grits came with the tails on the shrimp but I can live with that. Oysters were great!

This place was recommended to me by several people. I had approximately a 30-minute wait for my group of 5. The staff was great and friendly. Keep in mind they don't seat you if everyone in your group isn't there. This place has a great New Orleans vibe. Make sure to get a hurricane! I had the blackened red fish that came with a side of jambalaya and greens. It was excellent yet I would have liked a little more spice.
Everyone enjoyed there meals, and several weren't able to finish all of their dinner as the serving size was more than enough.

I had taken the recommendation of a local hoping for a better experience but unfortunately it was a let down. We had reservations at this place for an early dinner and even arrived 15 mins early. Only to be passed up by other parties without reservation. The front counter person was awful and not pleasant or welcoming. Someone else took over at sat us much quicker. If it wasn’t for our server my rating for this place on service would have been a 1 star. Our server was much nicer and much more pleasant, she earned her tip.
The food was not horrible but I had better in New Orleans. Overly priced. Highly recommend the bread pudding and rum sauce if you end up going. But I would rather go to Mothers or Lil Dizzys outside the quarter.
The atmosphere was mediocre and reminded me of basic Bubba Gumps.
Overall, not worth the hype.
