Nyonya has been opened since 1994, this is a local Malaysian gem that’s on the michelin guide! They have the CRISPIEST roti canai with flavorful dishes and generous portions. Staff is attentive and friendly. Remember to bring cash, they are a CASH ONLY restaurant!

Great place for family style and sharing. As a vegetarian it was quite tough to find a vegetarian option but I got the tofu sizzling vegetable dish without the meat which was tasty and they were very nice to remove it. Overall pretty good vibe, great space and fun to sit around with family and friends

The food is great. However, the service is terrible. Me and my family had a nice lunch there and left a 15% tip. This was a generous tip, given how rude the waitress was. It was the typical "Hurry up and order and get out of my restaurant" behavior. After we give the overly-generous tip of 15%, she had the audacity to stop our entire group from exiting the restaurant. She said there was a minimum tip requirement. It's one thing to demand un-deserving tip. It's another to prevent a family from exiting a restaurant because you want the tip for terrible service. Again, food is good, but service was bottom barrel/

I loved that the menu included photos of every dish, it made ordering much easier. The roti canai was big and crispy and took some time to finish because it was so filling. The portions here are generous, my pad thai was packed with vegetables and protein, and it tasted delicious. The coconut pudding was both visually pleasing and tasty since it’s served inside a real coconut. It was perfectly sweet and seemed to be made with a mix of coconut water and coconut milk. Cash Only.

Local style Malaysian food serving big portions. Walked in on a sunday night and there was plenty of seating available. It’s cash only and I noticed they told every customer before being taken to their table. Heaps of options on the menu and ended up ordering the famous Roti, hanianese chicken and fish noodle soup. The food came out so quickly!! The roti was very flaky and went well with the sauce which was a bit spicy. The chicken was a bit of a letdown - it was small and there was not much chicken. The soup for the fish noodle was delicious, very flavourful and I could taste the fish flavour. They also gave us the full fried fish head and so much rice noodles in the bowl too.

Amazing Malaysian food. We got the CKT, Hainanese chicken, chicken skewers and water spinach. All were delicious. Cash only but easy to get a table.

Affordable, authentic Malaysian food in Chinatown—literally not a single dish I didn’t like! My family and friends raved about Nyonya. Compared to other Malaysian restaurants I’ve been to in NYC, the dishes here felt lighter and less oily. The menu is huge, and there’s so much I still want to try. *Roti Canai 印度麵包 $6.5 * Their signature appetizer: the flakiest flatbread I’ve ever had, plus they even put a piece of chicken in the curry sauce on the side! *Beef Satay 沙爹牛串 $15.95 ** I often find beef skewers overcooked and tough, but here they got it perfect. Tender, charred, and with plenty of satay peanut sauce. *Sarang Burong 佛砵飄香 $21.95 ** Possibly the most underrated Malaysian dish and my personal favorite. The fried lace mashed taro is shaped like a bird’s nest and topped with shrimp, chicken, mushrooms, and veggies. Similar to a taro puff pastry dim sum, and I swear any taro lover would love this. *Nasi Lemak 椰漿飯 $15.95 * I couldn’t leave a drop because the curry was that good. Coconut milk rice made every bite even better. *Hainanese Chicken 海南雞 $13.95 (¼), $17.95 (½) Super silky, tender chicken, and the portion made the price totally worth it. *Coconut Pudding 椰子凍 They treated us to this coconut pudding on the house, which normally comes in a coconut shell. I was stuffed, but it was so light that I still finished every bite. *Malaysian Iced Coffee 馬來咖啡冰 $5.5 As always, malaysian coffee was way too sweet for me since it’s mixed with condensed milk…
