If I could give a 0/5 stars I would!
This is not a well established business, I as a subcontractor subbed two jobs for them, they rely on 30 day contracts to pay out for jobs, we followed their protocol of "30 days", it has now been 17 days past those contracts (so 47 days total from completion of jobs). keep in mind they take no money out of their pockets for these jobs, I as a subcontractor did a 10k job for them of which $5k was in materials that I had to purchase out of my pocket, the other job was for $2,200 of which about 800 was in materials, finished both of these jobs out in less than a week. TO THIS DAY WE CANT GET PAID FOR ANY OF THESE! THIS BUSINESS WROTE ME CHECKS FOR THESE JOBS 11/25/25 HANDED ME THE CHECK 12/01/25 THE ACCOUNTANT FOR THIS BUSINESS THAT GAVE ME THE CHECKS TOLD ME TO "WAIT A DAY TO DEPOSIT THE CHECKS BECAUSE THANKSGIVING HAD JUST PASSED AND THE BANKS WERE CLOSED" FOR WHICH I FOUND PRETTY ODD BECAUSE BEING A BIG BUSINESS THAT THEY ARE YOU WOULD THINK IF THEY GAVE ME A CHECK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE TO DEPOSIT WELL THIS WAS ONLY TO FIND OUT THESE CHECKS HAD NO FUNDS THE OWNERS OF THIS BUSINESS HAVE YET TO SPOKEN TO ME ABOUT THE SITUATION.
*** ONE OF THE RED FLAGGS INSTANTLY FOR THIS FROM THE BEGINNING WAS, WHEN WE FINISHED THE JOBS ON A WEDNESDAY OF THE FOLLOWING WEEK I SUBMITTED MY INVOICE AND THE PROJECT MANAGER HANDLING THESE JOBS WAS FIRED THAT SAME DAY. DID'NT HEAR BACK FROM HIM FROM THAT DAY.
AND THE COMMUNICATION WITH THESE PEOPLE HAS BEEN DISGUSTINGLY AWFUL.
IVE SENT THEM A NOTICE OF DAILY PENALTY FEE FOR EACH DAY PAST DUE I HOPE THEY SEE THIS REVIEW AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT HOW BAD THEY ARE HANDLING THEIR BUSINESS.

In 2022, My house caught on fire. Our insurance company recommended this company. In May of 2022, we began working with them and they started to fix up our house. We were estimated 6 months to have the house ready to live in again. This went from 6 months to a year to almost a year and a half. We went through multiple project managers, would always wait long periods of time for call backs, had our washer/dryer taken out of the home without our consent and was not found in the dumpster where it should’ve been thrown away. After moving back into our home in June of 2023, we had a lot of issues. Since then, we have had flooring issues, holes/marking on the walls, improper hardware installation for our closets (causing them to fall out of the wall and leave holes in the wall), etc. We had them contracted to come back within a year to fix any issues and they did. The only reason I write this review is for everyone else and for the company. We still have issues with things to this day. (Still fixing my closet hardware currently) Please be aware of who you choose to work with. And as for Paul Davis, I expected better from your company. I expect better in the future. Stop messing with your clients time and money before they start messing with you.

We had a burst in the walls and did some major water damage downstairs . My insurance company recommended Paul Davis Restoration and they reached out to me the same day and set up a appointment the next day. Showed up on time let us know in detail what had to be done all the down to tearing out some sections of walls and flooring to leaving some large equipment running for several days to pull out all the moisture and water. Machines were loud as he explained but got the job done. I had never heard of Paul Davis Restoration till a few weeks ago but now I would recommend to a family or friend in need of this type of service.

House Fire 4/23/24. Hired Paul Davis Restoration for cleanup and reconstruction. Mistake! Lies, Lies, Lies and more promises to get my money. Poorly ran business… borrow from Peter to pay Paul. Subs do not get paid, pathetic communication (not when they want $$). Almost 10 mos since fire and my house still no inspections, no insulation, no sheetrock, no work. It’s been the most horrible experience I’ve ever been through. No honesty or Integrity with this group. I trusted them. Don’t do the same! More follow up soon. It’s now 4/19/25 almost a year since our fire (4/23/24) and not any change in these photos. Only a lil plumbing to pass inspection. Horrible experience with Paul Davis in Bham AL. I am not the only one! More to follow…
Had a terrible experience with this company. Used them after Cincinnati Insurance referred them as a provider for a flooded basement apartment. Used a lawyer to get money back on claim and handled restoration myself.

Still waiting for a job to be completed. I was referred to Paul Davis by my insurance company as one of their "preferred providers" my claim was made back in April of 2024. I was told they should be done by August. Its now Feb 2025 and the job still is not done. I have called repeatedly, sent text messages, and emails. The only time I get a response is when money is expected to be exchanged for a certain part of the job. They send emails with a little bit of I formation but when I ask for clarification on something they NEVER respond. The few times I have spoken to someone, I get told that they will update me weekly and then disappear. This is the absolute worst contractor company I have ever had to work with. I don't live in the area so I feel that they are taking advantage of that. I can assure you that I will never use this company again, in Birminham or any other city. What they are doing is on the verge of criminal. Our property is a rental home and has been sitting vacant for over a year due to this incompetent and unresponsive company. There is NO reason for this to still be going on. Stay far away from this company.
I had a very disappointing experience with Paul Davis Restoration Experts (Birmingham store). The company’s customer service is terrible. They have been extremely unresponsive and unhelpful when it comes to addressing concerns or resolving issues.
I have been waiting for a refund they promised months ago, but they keep delaying with vague excuses (e.g. short staffing, lost check). Every time my insurance agent called, he was either told the person who can help is unavailable or given a generic response about how they’re 'working on it’ or ‘have sent the check’, which was never received and did not have tracking number! And, every time I called the corporate office to escalate the issue, I was told they would pass it on the local office and someone would contact me regarding the issue, and I never hear back! This is unprofessional and unacceptable, especially when it comes to handling their customers' money.
If you’re considering using Paul Davis, be cautious. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction is alarming. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and honest service.

I am a beyond disappointed customer who has been more than patient and understanding about the countless delays and no calls no show promises during summer schedule juggling with children. But 23rd Feb2024…My USAA adjuster hired them to help with a nightmare flood fight we were losing. Mitigating crew was outstanding…even though they did warn me the damage was worse than we could see…but reconstruction assured me they would rebuild to close to perfection…Lies! Lies! Lies! and betrayal is all I have left. After they destroyed my kitchen cabinets removing panels and drilling holes in all of them…1st visit against my my better judgement I gave them a full payment to replace my flooring from kitchen to family room…It’s a mess the level of my floors not done. Popping pockets everywhere, painting saturated trim 2 times failed cracked within 24hrs and came off completely when touched my cords or when I used lite spray to freshen up. This nightmare is ends. I have been to there business office early morning, noon, and evening and couldn’t get in…No one would return my calls for 2.5 months.
When I finally spoke with the Project Manager Supervisor Whitney…I was given written proof my USAA adjuster Corey instructed them not to address damage to my cabinets and nothing else…Damaged done before they arrived…Yes! the flood occurred on 16 Dec2023…and we were trying to dry the floors, cabinets, ceiling and car

Sheryl, while we hear your frustration, as we and your insurance adjustor explained to you, we cannot provide you with work on a previous claim that you no longer have the money for. We can only provide work for the claim in February 2024 with the funds dispersed from your insurance company to us for that particular project. I have lightning strike my home, which resulted in a fire. My insurance suggested using Paul Davis as a means of streamlining everything so that I could get back in my house faster. I can’t say enough about how grateful I am to Paul Davis and everyone who touched my case during this time. They have been so professional, patient—and they have done amazing work. I trusted everyone on my “team” from Adam who I saw so often who did so much of my mitigation, to the crew that packed out my contents and moved me out, to Casey and Austin, Ryan and Whitney who were always accessible and patient through my one million questions and worries. Honestly this experience has been so awful and stressful—but the folks from Paul Davis have been my North Star through this process. They’ve helped keep me calm, explained everything, and done quality work. I wouldn’t WANT to have to go through this again—but I wouldn’t do it with any other company.
