We bought a condo at the Interlude site. The closing cost included property tax of $12k for a 1362 sq ft condo. I brought it to my lawyer's attention as well. Once I got my interim property tax bill from the city of Hamilton, it was a mere 2k. My lawyer's have approached New Horizon lawyers but we have received no response so far. How can New Horizon charge $12k for a 1362 sq ft condo? I am very disappointed I don't know if I will get my money back. It's a shame that such a big builder would resort to this type of money grab.
The builder did come back and resolve this issue, as a result I have updated my grading for them. Thank you NHDG!

Absolutely the cheapest builder I know they get third-party supplies. Nothing lasts within two years. They do not care about your home. They are just build it and leave it kind of mentality. I feel bad for The staff there as they are amazing but they have to abide by rules that is quite disappointing for a consumer. I will not be a future purchaser of this company. For one they installed a street light post an arms length away from my balcony, had to complain several times to get them to move it and when they did they moved it in front of my my bedroom window, no common sense was use in placing items around here . Individual Ac units are broken in the building and it's a two year old building, it falls under the owner not builder. Does this not scream we do not care about you? As we all know things always break after short term warranties. It's a shame. I'm so disappointed. Update : Oct 2024! People in the condos are having issues. Strange that multiple people are having issues with their unit , faulty system to begin with. My electricity bill dropped $40 A month once I installed the new system, because the old system was faulty and causing my electricity bill to be higher. Do better

The street lighting at the development is installed per the municipality’s approved site plan. During the interim occupancy period, when you addressed the proximity of the light with our team on site, we temporarily removed it for you until backing was available to be installed on the light post to block its reach in the direction of your windows. This was something our team went above and beyond on doing to assist you.
Please understand we are also incredibly disappointed by the fact that you have experienced issues with your heat pump after the end of the two-year warranty. We have the same high expectations (if not higher) that our clients do for the functionality from products and materials like these. There is no benefit for us to have our clients being let down by products in their new home after their warranty period.

reliable and fast responding to any questions builder with great customer service. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of finishes they did in my unit in Stoney Creek while i selected basic finishes with no upgrades and by their regular monthly construction updates via email with pictures. Wow!

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY UPGRADES, they use the cheapest quality & no warranty on any of the upgrades
The worse experience is just trying to find a contact to actually help you, just to let you know years later that there is not to be done.
My sink was installed rusted, the resolve, I was told to keep rust proofing it, HOW PROFESSIONAL

Moving from a small city to Cambridge was a very daunting process, but all these feelings melted away when I met my super intendant Whitney. She's extremely friendly and knowledgable regarding the property, she was able to answer all of my questions with ease and make me feel very comfortable right off the bat. As if this wasn't enough she proceeded to stay on sight past her shift to offer me assistance moving my furniture up to the 6th floor, even grabbing a dolly to make the process a lot smoother!
Finally upon realization that my couch wouldn't fit in the elevator Whitney was so quick to grab a tape measure and verify the measurements before we attempted the stairs. When we confirmed the couch would make it through the stair well, she was right there assisting with the whole process of lugging this couch up 6 flights. I can't thank-you enough Whitney!

huge disappointment on the closing date.
builder gave us less than a month to secure a mortgage. Now a days bank tskes some days to complete process. builder's lawyer tends to be so strickt but failed to write correct date and eventually apologize saying it was a typo error in typing a closing date. which lawyer makes a typo error!!?
though, they charged us penalty fees per days. we had requested a lot to builder that there is no prob in getting mortgage , it is a bank who asked for couple of weeks more to complete process. Builder didnt support!
This is a phenomenal team of amazing individuals that work effortlessly on a grandeur level surpassing anything along the way. Class & craftmanship are of supreme repoire. Every new development is more amazingly stunning and serene than the last.. There is no other choice in this field.
This builder is great. The level of customer service we received from everyone was exceptional.

Had the pleasure of having a fantastic crew from NHDG on the utopia purchase ,
Jay, Malcom ,Whitney and her assistant have be on top of everything regarding any concerns.
The small finishes that needed to be corrected, the team went above and beyond the bar that I had set.
As a trades person myself the team was very professional and helpful to any questions or concerns I had regarding my condo all issues were addressed and taken care of .
The ground team on site and the office team blew away my expectations for this purchase finishing was amazing , delay’s were minor not major and issues were tiny .
After the experience from the utopia team on site I will be definitely buying again when the time comes!!!
