BOATER BEWARE.... PROBLEMS NEVER ADDRESSED
We booked a charter for our honeymoon out of Nanny Cay, Tortola. When we arrived our boat was not ready... it was blazing hot and our food sat on the sidewalk beside the boat for an hour and a half! Beyond this late start, our Fridge door needed repaired. It never did seal right, so we had to bungee it closed to set sail. we had submitted an itinerary to our ships captain but because of the delays, we were running very late, and the feature of our first night was a dud because we arrived at Willie T's around 6:45 and they were closing. It was a Monday night. That night the air conditioning broke, leaving two cabin incredibly hot. The window was so tiny, there was virtually no air circulation. In the night an alarm sounded, that we were told was the back up generator failing. In the morning, our captain went off itinerary and dropped us all off at Norman Island so that the air conditioning could be fixed, thereby causing yet another delay in our itinerary. Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem... the remainder of our trip was sweltering hot conditions in. two of the four cabins. To add to that issue, those were the rooms where you had to use a sink hose to shower (I feel like this was in some fine print in the advertising because we had no idea this was the case. It read as if this was a four bedroom, four bathroom catamaran) there was almost zero water pressure, giving just a trickle of water... not near enough to rinse your body. We had to check into a hotel at scrub island to shower and sleep since our conditions were not ideal. Our dinghy was not working properly and took tremendous effort to start, and even required a tow at some point. We also had ordered and paid for a wake board that was under inflated, and was not able to use it at all! The air conditioning never worked the entire week so I reached out to Navigare three times to ask for some closure of these issues and no one ever responded! I emailed them. I called them. I even sent a letter through the mail and .... nothing. I will never charter a boat through them again!
Top notch company and yachts!
Had an awesome experience bareboat chartering with Navigare Tortola. Check in staff and dock crew were friendly and very helpful. Bali 4.2 "Movin up" was in great condition and didn't have any mechanical issues. By far the most enjoyable cruising grounds we have ever done. Definitely will come back for another trip soon!
Sail of a lifetime
Wow! What a way to travel, we are now sailers for life. We were first timers chartering and very nervous for all it entailed. Did we pick the right boat, the right company? Yes, we did and would do it again. We rented the Bali 4.4 Stellar and she was perfect for our party of 6 plus a captain. The boat was in decent condition with only a few issues, outdoor grill did not work, some cushions were not in the best condition. The boat size was perfect and we loved the layout with the open door function and full kitchen. Our only issue was our captain, we had no say, he was unresponsive to texts and calls prior to sailing. When only met him as we pulled out of harbor, he gave no briefing, no safety talks and refused to listen to our requests, he as very passive agressive about tourists (we are tourists and we are paying you). Instead we had to go where he wanted to go. Make sure your captain understanding this is YOUR vacation and you get to go where you want not his preferences.
Great captain and charter experience
We went on a seven day charter led by Captain Khadine Fahie on lagoon 4.2. The cat was in great condition and the experience that Captain Khadine gave us on our first charter has made us start looking at coming back again next year. Captain Khadine is a true professional and prides himself on keeping his passengers safe and providing them with a once in a lifetime experience.
Extremely well managed charter base. Boats are in great condition. We did a week long trip on a Bali 4.2 and had the best time. Definitely will be back again soon!

This is the second time running a boat from Navigar yachting in the BVI. My first experience was in 2024. We had a lagoon 42 and we had an excellent experience with customer service captain who checked me out and the crew. The boat was in perfect condition and very clean. We’re back again in November 2025 now we have a lagoon 46. We had a problem with auto pilot and with the dinghy engine. We called the tech services. They came out the next morning and fixed both of those problems within 20 minutes. I highly recommend this company. They are very helpful and considerate and will do anything to make our Sailing experience a very positive.

Another great experience
This was our second trip with Navigare in the BVIs. For those who haven't been it's a special place. The catamaran we had originally reserved wasn't available for maintenance reasons when we checked in. No problem. We were upgraded to a newer and larger boat for our trip. It was great. The staff was friendly and helpful just like our first trip with them. Checking in and out is always busy and a bit chaotic with so many groups coming and going. I felt the staff did a good job juggling all of us. And, even thought there was a same day turnaround for cleaning on our upgraded boat, they didn't cut corners. The boat was spotless when we got onboard, and they had us on our way in plenty of time to get to our first destination. We'll be back to the BVIs and we'll use Navigare.
Awesome trip with Navigare and Khadin Fahie
We have just returned from a great family trip with Navigare which exceeded all of our expectations. This was our first charter in the beautiful BVI and the team at the local office provide a great customer service, answering all our upfront questions promptly and also dealing extremely professionally with a last minute change of boat that was entirely out of their control; they worked tirelessly and closely with us to provide a solution that we were 100% satisfied with.Navigare also sorted us out with an awesome local captain for our charter, Khadin Fahie. Not only was Khadin extremely competent at handling our boat but his vast local knowledge and flexibility was invaluable in ensuring that our itinerary was absolutely perfect for us. Most importantly, Khadin was an engaging and fun captain and we felt totally at ease sharing our charter with him. If you are lucky enough to book Khadin for your charter you will not be disappointed! We are already planning our next trip to BVI!
Great team. I wanted to send a surprise gift to a friend that was chartering. I was supposed to be on the trip but has to cancel last minute. They help arrange so the gift was present to them when they arrived to check-in for their charter. Everything went smooth and was done as promised. Great communication and very helpful considering this is definitely outside their normal services!!

NAVIGARE IS UNSAFE AND LIES TO CLIENTS - Do not use
Navigare is a total scam DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. We've now been on 2 trips through this company. The first went OK, but we did it in the British Virgin Islands were I lived previously and where our captain had worked many times before. Between the two of us, we were able to navigate the various problems we encountered, including a non-working anchor (which forced us to pay extra money to dock overnight rather than stay on the hook, and also wait hours for a chase boat to come fix it). Our second outing was a total mess, in the Bahamas, mainly due to the company hiding from us that 2 boats of the same kind we were on burned up in the weeks prior due to electric wiring being unable to support the systems. The company chose to shut down half the AC units on our boat without telling us. We were hot, grumpy, and tired because we were unable to sleep it was so hot (think July/August in the islands) and we were fighting with our captain about the boat which made the trip uncomfortable. We specifically paid a lot extra for a boat with AC in the salon and cabins as we had older folks on board. We had a much bigger boat than needed - there were just 4 of us - to have AC, which meant paying for more dockage fees, more gas, and a higher rate overall for the bigger boat (which we were willing to do for the AC). When we noticed half of the AC was not functioning 2 days in - we spoke with the Captain. He took apart the entire console in the salon to try to fix it and called for a chase boat to come help. Turns out the company sent him out without informing him of the problems too. The electrical was so broken he was losing power at the helm constantly having to run up and down while steering the boat to turn the breakers back on. This was very dangerous. He was repeatedly losing his navigation equipment and this was his first time doing a trip for this company. When we called the company on their lies, they finally admitted they shut the AC down intentionally, that the 2 boats had blown up and that the reason the chase boat never came was because they didn't have insurance for the chase boat in the Atlantic waters only in the sea of Abaco, so we had to be there for them to come help us. All in all, a terrible trip with us sweating and worrying about our safety. Navigare does not value its clients - they offered us a few hundred dollars "for the slight inconvenience". What a joke of a company. Never ever would use them again - they are all about the money not at all about the people.
Had an amazing Voyage through the BVI, and a very good experience with Navigare. Dawn/ Sales was very knowledgeable and helpful during the planning phase. Dion provided the review of all systems upon arrival and Bradley went over operation of the cat. We skippered ourselves and just motored from island to island. There were some minor issues with boat upon arrival; i.e. missing front cushion, exterior flat stove inoperative, AC out in one room & generator impeller. They recharged the AC, changed out the Generator impeller and gave us charcoal for the SS grill outside; all corrected within an hour or so. On the last day they sent a skipper out to bring us in, due to high winds. All in all a great trip- I’d book with them again.

Our catamaran was a disaster: no AC in one cabin (technicians came but never fixed it, and we had to book a hotel), the watermaker was broken for several days, an electrical fuse caught fire, the refrigerator lock was broken, and the entertainment system was only partially working. On several occasions, technicians said they would arrive but never did. We paid a premium price for constant failures, extra expenses, and safety risks. We filed complaints with the company, and their response was terrible.
During our July 21–30, 2024 charter with Navigare Yachting BVI, we experienced multiple technical failures aboard the catamaran that significantly disrupted our trip. One cabin had air conditioning issues for the entire 10-day period, forcing some crew members to spend extra money on hotel accommodations. The watermaker failed on several nights, hoses were leaking, and an electrical fire broke out in the aft section due to a fuse issue. Several lights were non-functional, electrical problems persisted throughout the trip, and the refrigerator lock was broken risking food spoilage. The entertainment system’s speakers were also inoperative. At one point, a technician said he would return with oil to fix the boat but never came back, and we received no follow-up. These unresolved issues, along with the lack of technical support, caused both financial and comfort-related challenges. A compensation request has been submitted, and we are currently awaiting a response from Navigare Yachting BVI.
Unsafe, and No Accountability
Our charter with Navigare Yachting BVI was a disaster. No AC in two cabins, repeated water and electrical failures (including a fire), broken fridge, and constant tech issues. We were left without watermaker for more than 5 days. Techs either never showed or “fixed” things that broke again right after.
We spent hundreds on hotels due to their failures—and they refuse to refund a cent. Horrible service. Unsafe boat. Never again.
