Not sure how this place has such bad reviews, every time I’ve called the office staff is super nice and supportive. I see Dr. Sun and I was referred to her for my endometriosis, she took it so seriously with me being 20 at the time. Had surgery before I turned 21 and felt better since. I still go and highly recommend this practice.

It has taken me five months to process my experience and find the words to share it. I was referred to Dr. Merhi by my OBGYN, who spoke highly of the practice. At first, I felt reassured—Dr. Merhi seemed knowledgeable, and the staff seemed friendly. Unfortunately, that initial confidence quickly dissolved. I underwent a Stage 1 bladder sling procedure and endometriosis removal. Dr. Merhi appeared rushed just before surgery, which made me anxious. After the procedure, I was left waiting for eight hours before being discharged with a catheter—something I had initially been prepared for, but the delay and lack of communication were troubling. More concerning was the complete lack of follow-up. I received no postoperative contact, and my repeated calls went unanswered. When Dr. Merhi finally returned my call—six days after surgery—I was told that my questions would be addressed at my two-week follow-up. That delay was unacceptable given my level of pain and confusion about what had occurred during surgery. I later learned that 11 lesions were removed and that I had significant inflammation—critical details that should have been shared immediately. At a follow-up visit, I still couldn't urinate and was sent home with a catheter again. Despite my condition, I was cleared to return to work the next day. Merhi later confirmed that I should not have resumed work so soon and they were unclear as to why I was having these ongoing issues. I was also told I had an infection and prescribed antibiotics—only to be informed later that there was no infection at all. The inconsistent communication was beyond frustrating. During this time, I remained in severe pain and discomfort. The catheter stayed in for 14 total days, and I suspected it was worsening my inflammation—something Dr. Merhi eventually acknowledged in part. I found temporary relief only while lying down. At one point, I was so desperate to urinate that I did so involuntarily on the exam table—four times. For four months after surgery, I often had to urinate in the bathtub, as sitting upright caused too much pressure on my bladder and urethra, and would not release any urine. I was forced to self-catheterize frequently. The office refused to provide replacement catheters, and I once had to use a discarded one just to avoid an emergency room visit. I ended up purchasing catheters from Amazon to keep on hand, several of which I had to use over a 3–4 month period. During that time, I was also on and off antibiotics and antifungals for nearly five months due to recurring bladder infections, UTIs, and yeast infections. The lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic care was astonishing. I overheard nurses gossiping about patients—myself included—and was frequently treated like an inconvenience. My condition was minimized, and I received no ongoing support or follow-up from Dr. Merhi despite repeated issues. The pain I experienced over those five months was unlike anything I’ve ever endured. I would rather go through childbirth ten more times than repeat what I went through here. Eventually, I requested a referral from my primary care physician and sought a second opinion. My new urologist confirmed that the sling had been placed far too tightly. I underwent a revision surgery that resolved the issue, and I’m grateful to say I’m now doing well. Suburban Gynecology & Urogynecology’s disregard for patient care and basic standards of communication is unacceptable. I would not recommend this practice to anyone and if zero stars was an option on the review, that is what it would have received. I sincerely hope others read this and think twice before seeking treatment here.

Friendly office staff, Dr. Merhi explained my issues and our plan to correcting the issue in detail. Very professional. Walked out of the office with clarity instead of confusion. It's very refreshing.

Dr. Merhi performed my laparoscopic hysterectomy and I only felt minimal pain for 2 days! I have been suffering for years because I was an ared to go through with the procedure but she has helped put an end to that. I am so grateful!

Do not recommend. Office staff is extremely rude, except for Jessica and Jessie. Will never return. Horrible experience all around.

Very unprofessional office. Long wait time on hold. Rude receptionist. The waiting area was bare. Not one person in the waiting area. Now I know why. I should have read the reviews and I would have never gone there. I never saw a Dr. just a Nurse Practitioner. I complained when I went to the office about how rude the receptionist was and the very long wait time on the phone and it was made out to be wrong to complain? It appeared that the office was new because of the way the staff functioned. I believe the Client should be treated with respect. This office has very little respect! This office is a train wreck. Do not go to this office.

I was coming on as a new patient... they have now rescheduled me twice with months in between availability for my appts. Looking elsewhere... if they can't get a new patient in for a good 1st impression they obviously don't need my business.

**If I had seen the google reviews, I never would have gone. I found this place through the website where you find doctors in your network and they were 4* there. Do your research, I have certainly learned my lesson** I was genuinely disappointed with my experience at Suburban Gynecology. From overpricing, misinformation, lack of communication, was told one thing then got a different answer a day later and lack of options for procedures; it could have gone worse but it definitely could have been way better I was offered a more invasive surgery under the knife under full anesthesia, with a longer recovery and higher risk of side effects. I had a GUT FEELING this was not the way, and went to a second opinion. The FIRST THING the other doctor recommended was a far less invasive, in house procedure with a local anesthetic that was a fraction of the cost of the surgery Dr. Merhi was pushing on me. (My new doctor was mind blown this option was not presented FIRST!) When I look at my consultation notes from Dr. Merhi, it says it was for a consultation between the surgery option she gave vs the inhouse procedure my NEW doctor recommended...... but she failed to mention the other procedure at all! How are you going to have notes titled that you gave both options but only presented one?! When I called the office before my surgery to try to get information on this, I was told I would receive a call back from Dr. Merhi... almost a month later and I had heard NOTHING. Man oh man...the billing lady... she was frustrated at me when I received a call that I owe THOUSANDS more less than a week before the surgery...and that it had to be paid before the surgery. When I had asked her at the time of consultation (a month prior) if I should worry about anymore upfront costs from the office or where I was having the surgery, she said no; just the Doctor fee and not to worry. There were countless miscommunications and withheld information from her and the Silver cross Surgery center; at one point I had to say "We spoke about this on a recorded line, pull up the recording and you will know what you said to me is not what you're saying now." This changed their tune real quick. When I eventually canceled the surgery, Angela was very short with me and you could tell she did not care to help me in this medical journey, but instead was irritated things got complicated along the way. If you go here, listen to your gut for when it tells you it's time to leave. Or just do not go here! There was the ONE nurse who helped me the first few appointments and she was the sweetest thing- she was kind, transparent and you could tell she genuinely cared that you built trust and comfort with her - I honestly thought she was my Doctor until I had my consultation with Dr. Merhi! If I had to pick one decent person from this place, it would be Rhonda. Thank you for being you Rhonda

This place is a nightmare. Don’t even go here. The staff never answer the phones. They won’t call you back. Can’t set up medications to refill. Even if you need them for severe pain, they do not care. Dr. Sun was extremely rude and dismissive. She completely ignored my complaint about severe, pain, nausea, and discomfort I was having from endometriosis to the point I was physically disabled. She just looked at me confused and said birth control was my only option and, “you probably don’t even have endometriosis.” Only to have a surgery to remove the endometriosis, and Lo and behold there was a massive amount. Attempting to gaslight my about an extremely painful and difficult condition affecting every aspect of my life. Judgemental rude staff who don’t care about their patients, their health, or wellbeing. Can’t even be bothered to do the most basic tasks for their clients. I’m convinced all these 5 star reviews are fake and written by staff.

I would not recommend Judy Sun. She did not find symptoms I was describing as very credible. I was so upset by my last encounter with her. I went to a different doctor in the same field who immediately referred me for an MRI after listening INTENTLY and asking follow up questions. MRI confirmed what I already knew, and I will need major surgery. My condition worsened under Judy Sun’s “care,” and the process for seeking out appropriate treatment has been delayed. I really wish I had not ignored some earlier red flags and found a physician who was a patient advocate sooner. I really should have known better than to continue care here. Within the first five minutes of my first appointment there, I was told by a receptionist that the procedure I was about to undergo left her daughter “screaming in pain.” Who does this?

I was discharged after a hysterectomy unable to urinate. My husband argued with the nurse and she said she could not even get a hold of Dr Merhi to get any orders anyways. I had to go back the next day with 900 cc of urine in my bladder to be catheterized. two weeks later I went back with a UTI and I argued that I thought I had a kidney infection. They insisted that I was fine. two days after that I had sepsis. I refused to go back to Silver Cross, as I was afraid they would kill me. I went to a different hospital and was inpatient with sepsis for three days. Do not ever go to this doctor one day they will kill somebody.

Very poor experience on all ends from many people in family and friends. Went on multiple occasions and the charges are insane (50 dollars for a run of the mill urine test), hearing staff talk about you while you are in your room, and receiving medication that doesn’t solve any of your issues. My mother went here for an ultrasound and the tech didn’t show up so had to wait almost four hours in the hospital to not even receive the test in the end- but they will make sure they charge you for every “no show” possible.

Saw Dr. Sun for a mild gynecological issue. The office staff were great both on the phone and in person. Dr. Sun was friendly, gave me time to explain everything that was going on, and she was gentle when doing the exam and taking a sample. I was happy with the experience and will go back to them in the future.

Where do I begin. She did not care when I felt pain (I had a very complicated case) and she misdiagnosed me then further berated me. She is very egotistical and stubborn. I ended up going to a different provider who literally saved my life. Stay away. It took a lot for me to even write this review...stay away.

Steer clear of this physician. I am not one to post like this. In my early 20s, Dr Merhi performed a laparoscopy on me and told me nothing was wrong. Fast forward a few years- using the same photos she took during surgery, I was diagnosed with severe pelvic congestion syndrome, May Thurner and Nutcracker Syndromes. None of which are common in women who have not been pregnant. All of these issues are extremely painful and dangerous if left untreated. Her negligence cost me years of my life and I'm very lucky I didn't throw a huge blood clot while it was left untreated.
