I recently had to find an electrician to perform some work to my house that needed to be fixed. Upon searching online we found Michael J Pupa the electrician who was first on the list of electricians who was based out of Gardner Ma. I decided to give him a call because he had really great reviews! I called Mike and told him of my situation and based off the info I told him he gave me some possible scenarios it could possibly be but needed to come out to my house to verify the concerns. Mike was super rad and very easy to get along with and talk to and really broke down what was going on and how to resolve the issue I was having in non electrician terms to help us understand. Mike and his apprentice were super polite and friendly which really made us comfortable having them in our home. He really takes great pride in his craft and gives you his 110% to give you quality work well being super safe. One of the circuits in my house had an issue due to mice chewing one of the wires. The circuit went to my fridge. I discovered the issue on a Saturday afternoon. Michael picked up my call right away and was here within an hour. He lent me a heavy duty cord, as he had to come back to get into the wall after a thorough test of easier options. He came back today, and the issue is safely resolved. He kept me apprised of all his steps and made it as easy to understand as possible. The other electricians I called (four or five others) never even returned my call, so I greatly appreciate Michael’s willingness to come out right away.

He came out on a holiday last minute and looked at our panel. Did no repairs, but did say to install a fire detector and that it was not safe. He gave us a 1 to 2 week time line regardless of the danger he mentioned. We asked how much we owed him and said he was a nice guy and was going to treat the visit as an estimate, so there was no charge. We chose not to go with him, so he sent us a $400 bill that indicated he hadnt done any work and he listed the period of time for the visit as longer than it was by over an hour. He also in the bill threatened us with a lien on our house as if we hadn't been willing to pay for the visit or as if we were late to pay it. He marked the bill due in 10 days from when we received it.

Our six smoke detector alarms blared in unison at 4 a.m. and nothing I did could get them to stop, so within minutes, we entertained our fantastic fire chief, a police officer, and two fire trucks of firefighters trying to get the alarms to cease. Turns out, the smoke detectors were all beyond their ten-year lifespan. Smoke detectors really DO need to be changed every ten years. I decided to hire a professional instead of attempting it myself, so I phoned Mike Pupa at 7 a.m. His kindly voice answered, took down my info, and said he would attempt to come over that same day. Have you ever heard of an electrician who would do that? He must have sensed that we really needed help. Mike and a helper were here with new units by 3:30 and done an hour later. Our fire chief told me that if I was handy I could do it myself, but after watching the professionals, I’m so glad I hired them. All through the day, Mike phoned to keep in touch and let me know where he was and when he was coming. Have you ever heard of an electrician who would do that? Mike told me in advance his hourly rate so I anticipated what to expect. He and his trained assistant went through all detectors and knew which needed which specialization (e.g., smoke, heat, co2). He showed me what he was going to do, he talked with me as he did it, and when the six units were installed, he tested them again and again to make sure everything was perfect. His cost was a fair price and he told me that he would stand by his work and return if necessary. Mike was consistently polite, compassionate about our situation, informative, and professional – indeed, Mike sets the bar to its highest standard. He is an electrician par excellence and worthy to be called when you need electrical work done. And if he works for you, you too will be asking… Have you ever heard of an electrician who would do that? Mike rates six stars on a scale of one-to-five!

Michael and his apprentice did amazing work at my condo and came in under budget! He even humored my requests and suggestions like I have any idea what I'm talking about. He is very "above board" on all the codes and made sure I was well-informed to make educated decisions about what services were ultimately required. I called him back to take a look at my refrigerator outlet when I got a new fridge, and he came right over and changed it out the same day. So appreciated!

Michael was the best Electrician I have ever dealt with and did an excellent job, putting in the ceiling lights, replacing the outlets and making sure they were up to code. He also added 3 outdoor light fixtures, and an indoor garage light. He explained everything he did in detail and upgraded the electric panel and ensured everything was done with complete safety and up to code.
