It was a very stressful time when we had to take our kitty to MedVet but they took excellent care of her and were very helpful and kind to us. They explained everything clearly and were very transparent with their pricing.

I’ve been to medvet twice. Once because my mother in law’s dog was attacked and had to be taken in. I waited 5 hours to not even be seen by a doctor. Thankfully one of the nurses helped me figure out what was going on and I was not charged. I came in a second time with my dog having severe bloody stool. They told me it would be 2-3 hours to be seen. After about an hour and 45 minutes they tell me they have no idea when I will be seen because more critical patients came in. Mind you my dog is having nothing, but blood coming out. I decided to go else where and was immediately seen and found a solution for my dog for much less. The nurses are nice and I don’t necessarily think it’s on them, but whatever doctors they have on staff have horrible time management. Either hire more doctors or only take the critical critical animals.

Our emergency hospitals operate much like human ERs, with a triage system that prioritizes patients based on the severity of their condition rather than arrival time. While it may not always be visible from the lobby, many patients are hospitalized with our team members at their side receiving continuous treatment and monitoring. We understand how difficult it is to wait, and how it can appear that additional staffing would solve the issue. In reality, this is the challenging nature of emergency medicine, where the flow of critical patients can shift rapidly and unpredictably. We appreciate your patience as our team works tirelessly to provide life-saving care to every pet entrusted to us, and we’d be grateful for the opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and doctors here. We had an emergency with our senior dog while he was staying with my mom, and although the outcome did not end the way we hoped, the team here handled the situation beautifully. They communicated with me every step of the way, and ensured my pet passed as peacefully as he could given the circumstances. I will be forever grateful to them for the wonderful care.

Everyone was so kind and sympathetic. Their jobs can’t be easy, and it seemed busy in the clinic that day, but they never acted impatient. They walked me through my options in a clear and helpful way, and I never felt like they were trying to upsell me or pressuring me to do a certain treatment or anything. I’m so grateful for their help as I navigated a really difficult time with my dog’s illness.

10000% recommendation for anyone with late at night emergencies. I unfortunately had to put my dog down. They were very supportive in my decision and giving all the time I needed. The vet and vet tech had AMAZING bedside manner. Will definitely be back in case in emergency or regular care.

I would never recommend this place. They take advantage of people who are already in stressful situations. When my dog was having trouble giving birth, they quoted me $8,000 for a C-section — an outrageous amount. When I refused to pay that, they still charged me $500 just to look at my dog and tell me a puppy was stuck (which was already obvious, since it was halfway out!). It’s heartbreaking that a vet clinic would put profit over compassion in an emergency situation.

This is an update on my review from yesterday the 31st. Our six month old pup had broken his front leg two weeks ago. MedVet was very good getting him in to be seen that day. The following week we went to CPHC to get it rewrapped. Apparently, it turned out to be a mistake to take him there. They did not set the bones properly before putting a tube-like splint on it. It slipped off before the next appointment. MedVet came to the rescue. We brought him there and they reset his bones and put a proper splint on it. They also made sure he was not in pain during the unfortunate long wait time due to a busy day. Thank you MedVet for your patience with me and for your professional and kind care for Kina.

Our sweet Sully took a tumble this week and fractured his leg. MedVet was super responsive and supportive. My husband was able to get in quickly through their emergency room. They let us know how important it was for him to get into surgery quickly, and helped us get in contact with a different hospital that had earlier availability. We so appreciate their transparency, and for their care for our sweet pup! Thank you, MedVet!

All I have to say is waiting all day +, almost 12 hours, to have our six month old Sheltie seen to have his broken leg reset because the bandaging fell off early this morning is truly unacceptable. My husband brought him there from an hour and a half away, he's still with the Dr., and now has to drive an hour and a half home. I think it's safe to say they dont have enough doctors on hand to cope. There has to be a better staffed veterinary hospital in Indiana somewhere.

Cannot put into words how incredible MedVet is. We took our kitten in on Saturday night and found out her kidneys were failing due Lily Toxicity, with values that were off the charts. Angie took the call and got her in the care of the incredible staff immediately. Dr. Jones and Dr. Owen’s fought so hard for our girl, even when the outlook looked grim. The entire team including Excel, Heather, Samantha, and countless others have given her so much love and care while she’s been in the office. They don’t just put your animal in a cage with an IV, they truly love them as one of their own. Thanks to the incredible work of the team and a ton of prayer, our girl is on track to make a miraculous recovery! Couldn’t recommend MedVet more, we’re so grateful for all they’ve done for our family.

A stray cat I'd been feeding and trying to bring inside showed up with a very injured tail. After looking up options, I ended up bringing him here to MedVet and am glad I did. Unfortunately, the sweet boy had to have his tail amputated due to infection. From the initial check to me picking him up post op, MedVet staff were amazing the entire time. They kept me updated every step of the way and made sure to answer any questions I had. Ideally you never have any emergencies come up, but if you do, you can know MedVet will provide the best care possible. With all that said, there's honestly only two things that could even be considered a "complaint" about this place, price and time. They really aren't even complaints, it's more things to be prepared for. Regarding the time, they do clearly state on their website that pets are seen based on severity of the issue. So while I did have a decent wait, I knew my boy was stable and could wait for more urgent issues to be taken care of. Then with the price, I highly doubt I could've found somewhere to do it cheaper. They are an emergency vet so don't expect "cheap", but I never once felt I was being overcharged or ripped off. In fact, I actually received some of my deposit for the surgery back, so I know they did what they could to keep the costs down. So even with that, this place is exceptional in every way! Also a special thank you to Dr. Woods! She called me as soon as he was awake and doing well! She was caring for him all day and always told me how sweet he was being. She cares a lot about her patients and it really shows. I never for a moment felt uncomfortable leaving him there because I knew he was going to be loved and cared for the whole time.

I left a prior review negatively sharing the difficult experience I had getting my dog an appointment with Dr. Lemmons, and though I still feel the scheduling system could be improved at Medvet, now that my dog has an an evaluation and surgery with Dr. Lemmons I feel compelled to share how impressed I was with Dr. Lemmons and his team. Dr. Lemmons was kind and compassionate in how he interacted with my dog, he took the time to explain treatment options clearly and answered all my questions without rushing, he was professional, and during Vincent's surgery he and his team contacted me several times throughout the day to update me on how my dog was doing. I do feel like he cares about his clients, is well educated in his field, and provides quality care to animals and their people. I am very grateful we waited, as hard as that was, to get seen and are blessed to have been able to have Dr. Lemmons be our canine dental vet!

I can’t thank the team at MedVet Indianapolis enough for the incredible care they gave my dog, Remmy. What started as a terrifying emergency turned into an experience filled with compassion, communication, and professionalism. I was absolutely heartbroken and scared when I first arrived, but the staff immediately made me feel supported. The doctors and nurses were so patient and kind — they took the time to explain what was happening, answered every question, and even went over things multiple times when I was too overwhelmed to take it all in. Their calmness and empathy made such a difference during one of the most stressful days of my life. I also want to thank the team members up front for their kindness and compassion. They were incredibly understanding and helped me stay calm during check-in and updates, which meant so much in such a difficult moment. The doctors were transparent about every step — from test results to treatment options and costs — and kept me updated throughout Remmy’s stay. The medical team worked quickly to diagnose and treat her, and it was clear they truly cared for her as if she were their own. I’m beyond grateful for how they helped stabilize Remmy and get her feeling better — and for how much compassion they showed to both of us. Thank you to everyone at MedVet for turning such a frightening experience into one where I felt heard, supported, and cared for. We've had a rollercoaster of the past few months from TPLO surgery to severe infection to just getting our dog Oliver home from a several night stay for a liver disease reaction. We still have a road of recovery to go but we are so thankful for the team of doctors, nurses, and staff who have cared for our boy and answered every question and made us feel like it wasn't our fault. We look forward to continuing the relationship.
