Very disappointing experience. Worst rental management I ever dealt with. First, this is definitely not a "luxury" complex as the interior is just outdated with a very loud AC/heating unit. Second, snow and ice was never shoveled on time to the point where my friend ended up falling. Another thing was that I lived on the third floor with animals coming into the attic space to where it was questionable if it was dealt with or animals just left or even passed. It does seem like an affordable option, but they add fees and raise existing fees as well. So in total month to month bill, was close to any other complex - I would go with any other apartment in the area. One huge thing was they were not very accommodating - I needed to end lease early and didn't provide good options along with renting the garage. They say it’s a gated community but the gate was open most of the time I lived there. I was concerned about my safety. Lastly, when I was in the process of moving out, I did NOT receive even half of my deposit back. They took out so many hidden fees. Do NOT recommend this apartment complex at all, I am glad to be out of it. Please do your research before renting from this place.

Do not rent here. Save your money and look elsewhere. I knew I would not extend my lease upon day 1. One star is very generous. Not luxury at all, not even close. The building is OLD AND STINKY. Built in 1899 and not much has changed. Old fixtures, popcorn ceiling, cheap appliances and cabinets. Not stainless steel appliances as advertised. Poor maintenance. Baseboards covered in dog hair and dust. Apartment smelled like musty/moldy upon entering on day 1. It took weeks of leaving the window open and many airwick air fresheners to get the odor out. The door trims were painted in a sloppy manner. The furnace was DUSTY, DIRTY, and had no air filter. I lived on the 3rd floor and the balcony was broken and leaking on day 1. Maintenance took WEEKS to completely repair this. Normally, spectrum charges you $50 for internet and complimentary cable services (with two cable boxes). But when renting here you are required to pay the complex (not spectrum) for this same thing; their price? $130!!! You cannot opt out. All repairs and troubleshooting were done directly by spectrum (not the complex). Very sketchy. You have to pay for trash, recycle, and valet trash. Mind you: all of the trash goes into the same large compactor; valet trash is never picked up on time. The compactor was ALWAYS FULL, smelly, and dirty. This is not a gated community as advertised, anyone can walk into the complex. Property is not well lit, so I had to constantly be aware of my surroundings. Bathroom banister was cheaply painted over, started stripping on week 3. While living here, there was a major power outage in area. No generator. If this place was luxury as advertised and knowing that everything is electric, I would have expected at least a generator. The balcony storage closet- DIRTY, MUSTY, needed repairs which they never completed still this day. Pet friendly, but there was dog poop everywhere. The dog park- get ready to step in poop. The stairs leading up to the apartments- dirty, rarely cleaned. Carpet was allegedly professionally cleaned prior to move in, but I purchased a cheap Walmart vaccum and vacuumed up an absurd amount of dirt. Upon move out- the apt was left in a better condition than it was when I moved in, I professionally cleaned the carpet myself. I was still charged $500 for "drip pans", which they could not explain to me. That $500 was never returned till this day. Unprofessional staff- rude, dismissive, condescending. Particularly McKayla and Amber. Cody was the only decent one. They made you sign a clause (seperate from the lease) that stated that if you break the lease, your info would be sent to collections. Would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!

I'm a new resident at McCauly Crossing. In the month that I've been there I have received so much help in getting settled. I'm not tech savvy and they helped me get set up with the resident portal and have taken in a delivery for me when I couldn't be there for it. Even work orders were done quickly. Great experience.

Windows were cracked when we moved in and took months to get fixed. Amenities are always broken or closed. Staff will harass you once you have about 6 months left on your lease. Leaving notes on your door telling you to call because there is an emergency, calling you all hours, and making you take off work for a sales pitch. They are manipulative bullies. You will also pay hundreds of dollars in hidden fees each month, $100 will go to cable that you cannot opt out of. Do not rent here.

I’ve been here for almost a year now and have had the best experience! We have a lovely 2 bedrooms with a lake view AND a yard, very comfortable with the pups! I also can’t say enough how great Megan& Holly are at the office. It’s rare to find customer service as responsive and friendly as them.

I am a resident, and my air conditioner (AC) stopped working over the weekend. Their email communication clearly states that we can contact the emergency team during holidays or weekends. However, despite calling the emergency hotline multiple times, no one picked up or responded. This lack of response during an urgent situation is unacceptable, especially when residents rely on your stated emergency support.

This apartment community is decent for the price, but you can definitely find better. It’s advertised as “luxury,” but the interiors are dated, and any updates or repairs are done as cheaply as possible. We lived on the top floor and constantly dealt with animals getting into the attic/roof, which was never fully resolved. Management regularly added new fees and raised existing fees—community fees, admin fees, and more—so our monthly bill crept up over time. It felt like we were constantly being nickel-and-dimed. On top of that, don’t expect to see your security deposit again. In our case, the “cleaning fees” somehow equaled pretty much the exact amount of our full deposit. Convenient for them, unbelievable for us.

I don’t know from where to start, don’t fall to those fake reviews like me. Make sure you think twice before u sign the lease and make sure u check the apartment before you move in coz they said to me apartment is not ready to tour, after I signed the lease that was too late. Everything was poor quality Windows too old, carpet was trash and wasn’t clean I spend 2 days to clean the hairs from pets, 3 window blinds was missing and they never put it I spend money from my pocket and when I moved out they made me to pay for those blinds which is I paid and installed by myself 😂 , they charge me 1200$ for things that wasn’t done by me. And another thing they will add 250$ pack top on your rent for trashy wifi, water and u gonna receive over that amount 275-280$ every month. My recommendation to all keep looking another apartment, coz right now I’m living 2 miles away from this place it’s cheaper 200-300$ and brend new apartments don’t feel yourself ripped off like me.

Management can be very unresponsive. All of our concerns about damage upon move-in were never addressed, and now upon move-out, they are trying to charge us for those same damages. “Minor wear and tear” does not exist either. We left the apartment in better condition than when we moved in and we are being treated awfully.

Holy crap sandwich this place is, we moved in just looking for something a bit better then where we lived and took moving here to avoid a abundance of stress looking around. Deeply regret not just looking around we moved in and our mailbox was already broken and they said they would fix it and who would have guessed never got fixed even after multiple work orders. We also had pieces of carpet that were pulled a bit from the previous tenant (not to big of a deal but didn't want it to bite us in the butt), never got fixed. We then were pretty neutral in the apartment for awhile besides the back yard we paid extra for whenever it rained it severely flooded. We then ran into this fun meeting they called us to do an apartment "walk through" which is normal to make sure we don't destroy the place however we didn't know that they would look for maybe 1-2 minutes tops then invite themselves to sit down (mind you they had a month notice to tell us this before hand), they sit down and tell us our next lease will be increasing by $300 a whopping 18% increase of our rent not including the extra stuff they don't update. We then obviously moved out and now we are in the process of getting our deposit back which they are now trying to say we didn't pay one when we payed $1800 for it, which they then back track to say "oh it must have went to your first months rent" which it did not I even have a cashiers check paying the "first months rent". Please do not move to this place.

I’ll attempt to be objective in my review. I needed a place to live on a short notice after a relationship fell apart and staff was eager to get me in. A little too eager, as I was shown one apartment, told I’d have to sign the lease right there to secure it, and was rented a different unit on a different floor in a different building. I was not impressed with the state of repairs in the first floor unit I got. My upstairs neighbor was habitually loud and management only gave lip service to solving the issue. I never got to do an initial “walkthrough” of the apartment; this was done by leasing staff on my behalf. I made a note of a damaged piece of the refrigerator on the week I moved in and they ended up charging me for it lol. Ultimately I feel like they were knowingly taking advantage of my desperate situation to lock in a tenant in a unit they knew had issues. Pros: Valet trash is nice Pool/clubhouse seems new Location is close to interstate/industry Depending on the repair, maintenance is fast Cons: Buildings are old and in desperate need of repair Business practices seem shady Bugs (flies especially) Not much in the immediate area
