Absolutely correct and reliable rental car service provider. Fast service, no unnecessary bureaucracy, no hidden or additional costs. Even though there was a minor accident (it was not my fault), it did not spoil our holiday at all, because they communicated calmly, immediately reassured me and handled the situation professionally. I would choose them again and can highly recommend - always support local businesses!

Friendly, straightforward experience hiring a car in Malta. We had the car for 6 days and it ran really well. The staff were helpful with a small issue halfway through our trip. They were professional, courteous and easy yo communicate with. We also arranged a drop off not at the airport which was convenient and easy to do. Really appreciate how easy it was to use this company's services, from booking, to pick up to drop off.

Very bad experience during return, they were searching for any damage for like 5minutes with flashlights even under the car. And of course they found something beneath the car from a small rock. Said they charge 150€ for a damage I needed to kneel and take a close look to see 1 or 2cm. I didn't want to agree, so they told that if I dont agree they will charge the whole deposit anyway, which was 300€. I was in a hurry for a flight, so I had to pay....

Rychlé vyzvednutí (s rezervací předem), důkladná kontrola stavu vozidla personálem před i po vrácení, nové čisté auto. Nízký deposit oproti ostatním půjčovnám, možnost použití debetní karty. Zatím ještě čekám (teprve 3.den po návratu) na uvolnění blokovaného depositu, ale věřím, že to bude v pořádku.

Hassle-free experience, selected for the good reviews and the debit vs. credit card issue we read on other providers. The car wasn’t in the best shape/cleanest state but it was completely OK for what we needed and for the price we got. Inspections took all defaults into account which was reassuring. Baby seat was OK. The lady at the office was very welcoming and the wait fine (vs. the permanent massive line at Europcar’s). Special thumbs up for the reactivity by email. All in all, all the small details went OK which makes it a pleasant experience in an area where peace of mind isn’t easy to get from such businesses!

Acceptable service overall. However, the directions from the airport to their office were confusing, which made the initial experience unnecessarily stressful. In addition, the vehicle collection process was extremely slow, with registration carried out manually using pen and paper.

There are so many stories about cheating car rentals on Malta, but this definitely isn't one of them: great service and no surprises from MaltaFirst Car Hire. Car was dropped off at our hotel, we expected satnav on the car, but it wasn't but we managed just as well with Google Maps. Worthwhile taking the extra insurance out, as some of the roads are narrow so passing cars can be nervewrecking (and not everyone drives as friendly). Dropoff was at the airport, where someone was already waiting for us. Friendly staff and great service. Surely one to choose again next time on Malta.
