My word the intake person hung up on me. She asked the same question three times and I fave her the same answer each time but wanted me to state it was a SSDI case instead of SSI for my child. To have an intake person who is unprofessional made me stop wanting to hire this firm to represent my brain injured child. It’s apparent they are not a firm I would trust based on my personal experience.
Yeah, didn’t help me at all. It was a lot of back-and-forth. and this is just with intake. It’s been 3months no further than intake.CRAZY🤪 I just ended it today. We were on a call trying to figure out what the problem was. They told me it was some paperwork that I needed for a medical, but my therapist had already sent that and called them herself. They didn’t even call her back. but she told me to hold on a minute later the phone hung up. I was going to call back but they have my number. Do you think they called me back? It’s been 10 minutes. 🙂↔️🙂↔️ 🙂↔️
if I could give less than a star, and definitely don’t deal with Marcy 🤦♀️
I had been denied social security twice even after extensive medical documents had been submitted and its an illness that is covered in what I call the SSA bluebook. My dad still had the business card for Makris Law Firm when they helped him years ago apply for his disability (and win), so he told me I should give them a call. It was the best thing I could have ever done for the situation I was in. They were VERY helpful and attentive. They explained to me everything I needed to gather to submit and even helped submit some of it for me so I wouldn't have to drive to the main office to do so. Everyone was so pleasant, kind and helpful. No one was condescending and they treated me like a human being. Ms. Lisa Davila and her assistant Ingrid were a delight to work with and it helped keep me at ease knowing that they were there to assist me in my claim. The office staff were kind and very helpful as well. I was granted a hearing with a judge and was approved. If anyone needs assistance in filing for disability, I highly recommend this law office as they are top notch.
I was referred to this law firm through a cousin several years ago because they had helped her get her disability from Social Security. I called and they were very kind and understanding and they reassured me that they could help me seeing how I had been denied twice already by doing it by myself. The intake specialist was great. I wouldn't change anything by coming to Victor Makris. He treated me well with respect and dignity and in the end won my case to receive benefits. I have since referred him to my neighbors and family members because I know he will get the job done for them like he did for me.

Not very transparent. Not sure if they are good but they sure lack a bit of transparency.

Hi Mr. Gomez, We accepted you as a client over the summer although there is a significant issue which we fully explained to you. In the 60 days that we have represented you, we immediately appealed your case and we ordered medical records from all facilities you told us about. We have communicated with you every time you wanted communication. If there remains anything that you want further explanation on, please contact the office and ask for your case manager. We look forward to assisting you.
Unprofessional. I told them I finally wanted to work with them after thinking about if I wanted to move forward or not fast forward I finally said I wanted to move forward and I haven’t received a email or anything form of paperwork to solidify that their representing me. Honestly don’t waste your time. I don’t want to work with them anymore now. They couldn’t give me any solutions or resources they want me to go and not have any income stating I can’t work not even part time for some form of income and also said the only way they will represent me is if I don’t work at all. This is ridiculous. I’m beyond pissed off.

Hi Ms Worsely, when you first contacted us on 6-23-25 you were already represented by an attorney who you thought would be dropping your case. After you confirmed this, you indicated on 7-9-25 you were not sure whether you were going to return to work or not. We sent you a reminder on 7-24-25 asking you if you had made a decision. We did not hear back from you until 8-29-25 and on the same date we priority mailed the documents to you for you to sign to hire our office to represent you. Since we did not receive signed documents back from you, we called and emailed you on 9-6-25, and texted you on 9-8-25 inquiring whether you both received the documents and if you would be signing and returning them. When we attempted to text you on 9-8-25 we received a message that your telephone number was out of order. You then left this review.
I read the Bravo review just shaking my head in disbelief that someone would say things like that about this firm. I referred a very ill relative who we thought would pass away anytime. The Makris Law Firm won my relative’s case and her receipt of benefits afforded her a decent existence with a monthly benefit check and medical benefits in her final years. The Makris Law Firm has been in existence for almost 50 years and each of the attorneys have decades of experience. There are not many firms that can say that. And you cannot be “winging it” or disorganized and last 50 years. So that review does not make sense. Any client who requests to speak to a lawyer who wants advice about a legal issue can speak to an attorney. I had questions myself and Mr. Makris made time to speak to me. It is really ridiculous to say that a hospital worker can do a better job that an attorney. This does not make any sense either. The firm is very well organized. They return phone calls promptly, and they do contact Social Security periodically on every case to identify any speedbump that might exist to eliminate it, so the case can proceed forward. Many firms will just provide medical provider lists to Social Security to order records, however the Makris Law Firm ordered medical records immediately at the time they were hired on case and then ordered several updates after that to make sure the agency had the most current records at every stage of appeal including hearing. The departments of the firm coordinate with each other to make that happen. I question whether the Bravo review is an actual client of Makris Law Firm because if they were they would know that what they posted in their review is incorrect. I totally recommend this firm to anyone and I caution anyone not to believe any negatives stated about this firm.
