We had a LOVELY stay. Unfortunately due to some major and irreversible physical limitations with one of us, we could not enjoy the property like we would like to have, but it was amazing! Loved the Belize Bungalo. The outdoor kitchen was amazingly clean, well kept, and well stocked. Cheryl and Jeff, were so kind and informative. As well as attentive. You cannot go wrong staying here. Beautiful landscaping, great location, clean living, wonderful tips and recommendations. We would love to go back again if we get back to that side of the country in the future! You CANNOT go wrong! We had an amazing stay with Cheryl and Jeff. The property is super relaxing, we sat for hours in the hammock, just chilling out and mosquito free, which was such a relief. The shower was great (hot water too), and the towels were plush and luxurious. (we have had airbnb with just cold water on this trip so it was appreciated). We loved spending time on the deck, where we could watch the incredible birdlife, including two types toucans and we also spotted woodpeckers, amongst other things. Their lush gardens and river view added to the peaceful atmosphere. Even without a car, getting around was super easy. There is a lovely restaurant within walking distance which we visited a few times. We also wish we’d booked directly, as they also take bookings on their own website. Overall, it was an unforgettable stay with two incredible hosts.

We spent several days at the Lucky Dreamer Lodge with our teenagers and the trip was a memory maker for sure! The grounds are beautiful and the bungalow was very comfortable! A few things we learned, when our hosts gave us input into our excursions, we listened, and thank goodness! They for sure know the ropes and will not guide you wrong! We'll need to come back, so many things to do and see. Thanks Jeff and Cheryl for some fantastic memories!

Our return visit to Lucky Dreamer Lodge was even better than our first visit. Jeff and Cheryl are the consummate hosts, guiding us to the best adventures in the area and sharing their knowledge of the local culture. Their location on the Macal River provides easy water access and opportunities to enjoy the area’s wildlife. We are happy to recommend this location as an excellent access point to the San Ignacio area and the Pine Ridge Reserve area.

We stayed at the Lucky Dreamer for a few nights while exploring San Ignacio. Cheryl and Jeff, the owners, were incredibly thoughtful and gave great attention to details that made our stay memorable. For example, upon arrival we all sat down to chat and had homemade tea. The bungalows are spacious, clean, and well equipped with comfortable seating, hammocks, new AC units, ample linen, and lots of windows. We loved going to Carms restaurant down the road for authentic Belizean food. It was also great to have a large outdoor kitchen to prepare some meals for ourselves and make coffee every morning. We can't recommend the Lucky Dreamer enough and would gladly stay here again! Thanks so much!

We loved staying here and highly recommend. We had a rental car, so it was PERFECT to be able to zip quickly to San Ignacio for dinner or shopping, but being able to retreat to the extremely friendly village of Cristo Rey was incredible. We swam in the river and saw some great wildlife (the toucan was our highlight). Our ATM tour was also able to pick us up right at the property. The bungalow was very comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. We picked the one with AC, which was necessary for us during our trip in early May! Cheryl and Jeff are extremely friendly, helpful, and hospitable hosts!

My stay at lucky dreamer lodge was perfect. Cheryl and Jeff were great hosts with lots of local advice and recommendations. The place was peaceful and a nice place to come back to in the evening after being in town for the day. I especially enjoyed the hammock on the deck and listening to all the jungle night sounds; monkeys, cicadas, etc. 10 out of 10 would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed for three nights in the Banana Bungalo. We were greeted by Jeff and Cheryl and given a great overview of the property and the town of Cristo Rey. The view was incredible and waking to the sounds of howler monkeys across the river was amazing. Would definitely go back. Eat at Carms, you won’t regret it.

Our family had a wonderful stay for several nights at Lucky Dreamer. Cheryl and Jeff were there to answer any questions and had recommends for groceries and restaurants as well. They were very welcoming. Our bungalow was wonderful and had all the amenities needed. The hammocks on the porch were great to relax in and listen to the birds and monkeys in the early morning. We used the outdoor kitchen one night and had everything we needed to cook. Would definitely recommend!

About Lucky Dreamer Lodge

We are located in the heart of Cristo Rey Village which is uniquely located between San Ignacio and the Mountain Pine Ridge area of the Cayo District. Cristo Rey was settled initially by the Mayans and much of that cultural influence still exists. In fact, there is a genuine Mayan Mound on our property. We find Mayan pottery every time we look! And you will find some too (but it can't go with you).

Cristo Rey is nestled in the foothills of the jungle directly on the Macal River. And while we are in the jungle, we are still in a village - so there are quite a few amenities available
