I contacted Live for Diving to do a PADI open water course. Although I ended up unable to go through with the class, every contact with Stefan was excellent; he answered all my (many) questions in a timely manner, was flexible, and was very professional, helpful and kind, which cannot be said of any of the other dive shops I tried to contact in Okinawa. I will definitely choose him to dive with if I make it to Okinawa in the future!

Cannot recommend enough -- wonderful guide on several fun dives across Okinawa (Manza, Minna, Gorilla chop). Very responsive, reliable, easy to deal with, all the while providing a very personal experience (yummy homemade rice cakes!) and tailoring the dives to the preferences of the (very small) groups. Stefan knows all dive sites inside out and how best to experience them, is happy to point out underwater flora and fauna tailored to your interests, and freely shares his knowledge of Okinawa and diving. Even got treated to a new personal best dive time of 105 minutes :) ... Indeed: the proper way to dive!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of completing seven dives with Stefan in Okinawa, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, the booking process was seamless—everything was easily arranged via WhatsApp, and we were able to pay online, which made things super convenient.
The dives themselves were nothing short of spectacular. Stefan has a deep knowledge of the local dive sites and marine life, and his passion for diving is evident in every aspect of the experience. We were lucky enough to encounter a wide variety of marine creatures, including octopuses, lionfish, sexy shrimp, mantis shrimp, sharks, sea snakes, turtles, and so much more. Each dive felt like a new adventure, and we were always amazed by what we discovered underwater.
One of the highlights of our dives was the personal touch that Stefan brought to the experience. He has a lot of funny stories to share and always brought along homemade rice pancakes made by his wife, and they were absolutely delicious—a perfect treat between dives.

I went with Stefan after browsing multiple other dive shop's sites. His was the only one that stressed protecting the reefs and protecting the habitat. After contacting him, I let him know the animals I wanted to see and what he recommended. After considering our skill levels, we settled on two locations where we were able to see everything we wanted: sea snakes, turtles, and sharks. We ended up doing 3 shore dives and they were the most beautiful reefs I have ever seen. I normally don't write reviews, but Stefan deserves one. For anyone stationed on Kadena, I would highly recommend.

I did my open water diving course with Live for Diving, and I felt very comfortable and safe the entire time, mostly due to our instructor Stefan's calm and reassuring demeanour. His detailed explanations and focus on diving safety helped us build a strong foundation in diving knowledge. In addition, Stefan is clearly very familiar with diving skills and marine life. He answered every one of my questions regarding any creatures I saw along the way with great detail, and it was interesting to hear about his diving experiences as well! His sincere passion and fascination for the ocean is inspiring. The dive sites Stefan introduced us to, including Gorilla Chop and Minna island, had an abundance of both soft and hard coral and had amazing biodiversity --- the best I've seen yet! In just one day, we saw a ginormous loggerhead (probably) turtle, with a head the size of a football, and a relatively big bait ball. Definitely recommend going to Live for Diving if you're looking for memorable diving experiences in Okinawa. I personally hope to go back if I ever get the chance to in the future!

Stephan is a great instructor. I enjoyed the six dives I did with him on two different days, and I learned a lot every time. If you are in Nago area and want to dive, don't hesitate, this is the place to go. Also, the rice cakes between dives are delicious!

Stefan was great! He taught our 2 10 children how to dive and was very patient with them. He then took our family on an amazing 3 dove tour around the northern part of Okinawa. He was extremely professional, and knows his business very well. Even though I ruptured an ear drum on the third dice he ensured I made it safely back to the boat and still provided a great diving experience for my family who remained in the water. Also, the rice cakes are amazing and the jasmine tea is a perfect between dive snack!

Ik heb twee plezier duiken gedaan in Gorilla chop ik vond het heel gaaf! Hij had goed apparatuur en gaf goede tips waardoor ik de tweede duik veel langer deed met m’n luchttank en veel mooie dingen heb kunnen zien. Daarnaast had hij ook een hoop foto’s gemaakt wat een leuk aandenken is aan de gave ervaring! Zijn vrouw had ook een Rice cake gemaakt die heel lekker was dus bedankt daarvoor ;). Ik raad zeker aan om te duiken bij Stefan!

Ho avuto la fortuna di conoscere Stefan che ha risposto ad una mia mail. Si è subito dimostrato professionale in acqua, ma anche molto simpatico e supportivo anche per le richieste di mia moglie che ci accompagnava in barca senza immergersi. Le immersioni grazie anche alla sua esperienza ed un'ottima visibilità in acqua, abbiamo potuto gare delle immersioni piacevoli non molto impegnative ma sono state molto belle ed abbiamo visto i cavallucci marini (prima volta in 25 anni di esperienza intorno al mondo) pesce foglia, diversi nudibranchi ed altre.specie che non riconosco ancora oggi, ma che avevo visto il giorno prima all'acquario di Okinawa.
Raccomando Stefan come accompagnatore per le vostre future immersioni e colgo l'occasione per salutarlo e ringraziarlo ancora, anche per i buoni biscotti fatti in casa.
