The male clerk working the passport window on the east end of the building is a rude impatient person that has no business to be handling any matters that involves face to face interactions with customers. Stick em in the mail room or filing office, but definitely nowhere near the general public. My girlfriend has a learning disability and just because she’s limited to understanding the process of preparing a passport application, doesn’t give him the opportunity to take liberties at her by degrading her in front of others. The fact that I was prohibited from helping her in the window made the whole thing complicated for everyone involved.
I’m extremely frustrated with the level of service and consistency I’ve experienced with the Clerk’s Office. After winning a small claims case, I submitted a motion to have my check released, and the process has been anything but straightforward. I’ve received conflicting information from different staff members, which has made it difficult to understand what is actually required or where things stand.
While some employees have been helpful, others have not provided clear guidance, which only adds to the confusion and delays. Additionally, the online system for submitting claims feels outdated and inefficient, making an already stressful process even more difficult to navigate.
From a customer perspective, the office appears disorganized, both in communication and operations. I would strongly encourage improvements in staff training, internal coordination, and modernization of systems so that individuals relying on these services can have a clearer, more consistent experience.
I had a great experience applying for a Marriage License here, we went on a Friday morning and it was not so busy as other times when we've gone there so I definitely recommend getting there early.
I wanted to thank Timothy Hicks in the marriage department for his courteous and professional service, he was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Here's a polished version of your review:
Today, I visited the courthouse to renew my passport. I arrived early, at 7 a.m., since they open at 8 a.m. I was one of the first people to go through security and enter the building. The lady at the east wing was incredibly friendly and had a beautiful smile. Although I've seen some negative reviews here, my experience today was quite positive.
I had a few questions about my application, and the staff was very helpful in explaining everything. The only issue I encountered, which was my fault, was not checking online for the exact cost of the passport in advance. I had to step out to purchase a money order for $190—$160 for the passport and $30 for expedited service all payable to US Dept of State. Additionally, I paid $51 in cash at the courthouse, which covered the fee for the passport pictures ($15), the processing fee ($35), and an extra $1 for an additional copy of my photo.
Overall, my entire process took less than an hour and a half, and the service was very fast. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you want quick service, just make sure to have all your documents and payments ready. 😊
Office in the Hollywood Courthouse was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The staff were shockingly rude, showed zero patience, and spoke to us as if we were clueless. Basic manners were completely absent. We are paying customers — this is not a free service — and we deserve to be treated with respect. Instead, we were met with arrogance and dismissiveness from the moment we arrived.
If the staff here dislike dealing with the public so much, they’re in the wrong line of work. Training in customer service and simple courtesy is badly needed. I will be filing a formal complaint, and I recommend others take their business elsewhere if possible
Great experience! Went early as soon as the doors opened to apply for a new passport. There was only a handful amount of ppl waiting at the door. Checked in and waited no more than 10 minutes! Very helpful staff and the passport agent at station 4 was very helpful, friendly and efficient he made my passport process go much smoother than I thought wish I got his name lol but overall great experience. Also I would say have everything you need upfront and ready so that the process goes through faster and easier for both parties..you got to help them to help you!
