I first encountered Leslie several years ago, as the "bubble lady" at the West End markets, captivating children with her bubbles. Intrigued by her coaching services sign much later, during a particularly challenging and emotionally charged period at work, I felt compelled to reach out. Seeking a confidante who could truly empathise with the unique experiences of a woman of colour, I decided to give Leslie’s sessions a try. This decision led to several more sessions. Leslie’s approach to communication—clear, straightforward, and sincere—made it incredibly easy to confide in her. I am so glad I found Leslie. I had a very bad experience with another life coach who just told me what I wanted to hear, which meant that I got nowhere working with her. But Leslie actually challenged me to see through my own B.S. and make actual, meaningful changes. I really appreciated her gentle, but firm approach (it was like having my own personal Oprah 😆) and also her ability to kick me in the rear while keeping a great sense of humour. Leslie V. is not just a life coach who really, really knows her stuff. She’s also an incredible community builder and facilitator. I’ve had the pleasure of participating in her monthly (free! accessible! in person and online!) self-help focused book club, as well as participating in her Ignite Your Vision for 2023 workshop, a reflective and goal-setting workshop that was and continues to be extremely beneficial for me as this year progresses. It can be difficult to discern who in the self-improvement community is actually genuinely invested in helping you grow from those who are more interested in expanding their own brand. Rest assured that Leslie’s work is deeply grounded in tangible, actionable practices, and in finding what works specifically for you. In my experience, Leslie fosters a space that is compassionate and expansive, curious and inclusive without being undermined by spiritual bypassing or toxic positivity. It’s a breath of fresh air to be able to discuss the intersections of psychology and spirituality in a space that also acknowledges and addresses the very real impacts of systemic oppression. Basically, Leslie V. is the real deal, and if you’re looking for someone who will help you to actualise the life you want (and/or looking to join a wonderful, supportive, and inclusive book club) then I cannot recommend her and her services highly enough.

I am a regular attendee at the monthly personal development book club that Leslie runs. I have also seen Leslie for a consultation, that I happily won at a raffle at one of the book club sessions! :) Leslie is an exceptional host of the book club, asking well researched and considered questions of the group, about the books and also about relevant aspects of life in general. She gently encourages participation, without obligation. I thoroughly enjoy and get a lot out of these book club sessions! In terms of the life coaching consulation, from this, Leslie was instrumental in my decision to commit to a plan to revisit an event in Europe this year, which I think was definitely the best move, as it worked out brilliantly, and I'm very grateful that I made the commitment. Leslie is a coach who epitomizes the growth mindset. She always takes the time to really listen and hear what is really going on, zeroing in on those things within you that are holding you back from actualizing your full potential. She showed me how to develop and grow as a writer and focus on constantly improving by having a realistic (and much less harsh) view of my work. She helped me see that I was holding myself back by seeing my abilities and myself as fixed. She coached me to see criticism and inevitable setbacks as opportunities and stay the course even when I felt discouraged. I realize now, with Leslie's coaching that I just have to start instead of waiting for the perfect piece to put out. Thanks to Leslie my writing career is now a perpetual work in progress instead of just a dream.
