I have been a happy pet owner for several years, and am completely satisfied with the excellent service that my cat (and I) receive at the 48th Avenue Animal Hospital. I highly recommend them to all my friends!
In my 20 years of having, breeding and showing Dobermans, I have never encountered a veterinary clinic with such outstanding professionalism. Recently, I faced an emergency situation with my girl who had been vomiting non-stop for over 12 hours—more than 60 times. Since she had been recently spayed, I feared the worst. Although I am not a resident of Ladner, a client recommended 48th Avenue Animal Hospital to me.
From the moment I called, the staff was incredible. The girl who answered the phone was exceptionally reassuring and went over everything in detail. When I arrived an hour later, she had the medication ready and greeted me with recognition. The level of professionalism and care was extraordinary.
They didn't charge me for a visit, despite my insistence on paying for a consultation and potential blood tests. Instead, I was only charged for the medication. The staff thoroughly checked for bloating and examined her spay incision, showing great attention to detail and genuine concern.
I am so moved by the exceptional service I received that I felt compelled to write this review from the parking lot. 48th Avenue Animal Hospital handled my situation with such compassion and professionalism, and I am deeply grateful. Should I ever be in Ladner again, I will undoubtedly rely on this clinic.

Took my cat here for a second opinion as I was convinced my little girl had pyometra. My first vet told me they're not concerned even though her WBC was slightly high. First vet clinic told me to wait for her to decline more to bring her in again.
I brought Kiwi to 48th the next day for another opinion. Thank goodness I did, because she did in fact have pyometra and went into an emergency surgery less than an hour into her appointment.
I cannot thank the team enough for thoroughly explaining the process and the infection and their immediate action.
I was able to bring home my sweet girl thanks to Dr. Sharma and team.
Kiwi and I are so grateful for saving her life!

Dr. Sharma and his team at the clinic provided exceptional compassion, comfort and care at the time of having to make a difficult but apparent decision of putting our beloved cat Natasha of 19 years down. Dr. Sharma guided the situation that didn't feel clinical or rushed. It was a last-minute decision to change vet clinics and go to 48th Animal Hospital and I'm so grateful we did. I am a new owner of a 4-month old standard poodle. All of a sudden, my Troy the poodle became very lethargic after walking every evening. One night, I thought that he was going to die. The next day, I took him to 48th Avenue Animal Hospital and he was attended by a Dr. Vikas. I found Dr. Vikas to be thorough in his examination and in his explanation of findings and in his recommendations of the two options available to solve the problem. He told me that Troy might have eaten or taken something off the streets that gave him toxins in his body. His first recommendation was to flush the body system of the puppy. I decided to follow his recommendation. That very afternoon, he had to do the flushing of his body system and at past 8 PM, which was beyond the regular hours of the hospital, the staff called me to pick up Troy. Maddison was very helpful in showing me that I should get a basket or cage muzzle to avoid the incident happening again. The night before Maddison answered my phone call even though the hospital was already closed.
She also advised me to take him to Intercity Animal Hospital in Vancouver but this was difficult for me because I did not have any vehicle. I decided to wait for the next day to go to the 48th Avenue Animal Hospital. Denny gave treats to Troy for his return home. When I got Troy, he was back to his normal self - active again. I cannot thank enough Dr. Vikas, Maddison and Denny for providing excellent veterinary care to my poodle puppy. I highly recommend the 48th Avenue Animal Hospital to any pet owner as I am certain that they would take good care of your pet the same excellent way that they took care of my Troy.

Staff is SUPER friendly, my dog loves coming and seeing everyone, the help they supply is like no other, very open about the charges and recovery of your animal, will definitely be back!!
