I was a patient of Kent's for over two years. I have been hesitant to leave this review because discussing these experiences publicly has felt difficult and intimidating, but I believe sharing my personal experience may help others make informed decisions.
During treatment, I experienced repeated boundary concerns that left me feeling increasingly uncomfortable. One session in particular stood out to me. Kent spent much of the appointment discussing his own experience taking psychedelic drugs over the prior weekend. During that conversation, he told me multiple times that he had thought about me while under the influence. I was visibly uncomfortable and did not know how to respond, but the discussion continued.
There were also many sessions where significant time was spent discussing Kent's personal experiences or stories about other clients. In one instance, he shared detailed information involving another client's traumatic experiences and described his involvement in helping them. As someone seeking treatment related to my own PTSD and childhood sexual abuse, hearing graphic details about another person's trauma felt deeply distressing and counterproductive for me.
Looking back, I often felt sessions became focused on Kent rather than my treatment needs. One comment that stayed with me was when he told me: "I love when you come in for sessions. I feel like your life is my Lord of the Rings and there are all these characters I get to hear about and move around to play with."
After ending treatment nearly a year ago, I personally experienced greater clarity and stability than I had while in therapy. This was my experience, and others may have different ones, but I felt it was important to share.
I’ve found him to be a highly knowledgeable and thorough psychologist with expertise across a wide range of mental health areas. Our sessions are consistently engaging and productive. He does an excellent job adapting his approach depending on the tone and direction of the conversation, which makes the experience feel both personalized and effective. I always feel that the time spent in our sessions is meaningful and well-guided.
Dr Anderson is deeply compassionate and has been of enormous help to my family for many years. He is unfailingly gentle in his correction, while being unflinching when firmness is called for in correcting behaviors and false or hurtful ideas.
I am grateful to have found a therapist as talented as Dr Anderson and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who needs assistance navigating the difficulties of life. My wife and I have trusted him with our children, our relationship and our own inner lives and all are better for his influence.
I was skeptical at first. Not a big fan of telling all my life’s secrets to a stranger. I had tried therapy a few times in the past and felt like it was a waste of time. I have been seeing Dr Anderson for about a year now and I feel like a different person. From the very first visit I felt comfortable talking with him. He figured out who I was and what I needed very quickly. He knows me better than I know myself! Every time I meet with him it just feels like old friends sitting around catching up, but when I walk out of his office I see things from a whole new perspective. Thank you Dr. Anderson for helping me navigate through this crazy thing called life! Here’s to a better 2026!!
Kent is an extremely smart person and psychology is definitely the profession for him. He is very wise and has a deep understanding of patients, knows how to handle every situation it feels. He wants the best for patients and it’s clear to see. The effect he has had on not only my life but many others shows just how good of not only a psychologist but also a person he is. One of the many great things about him is the honesty he has with patients. He is willing to express what you may be doing wrong and how to fix it, and that’s something I don’t think is often seen with other psychologists. I would definitely recommend one to see Kent for an open and honest discussion that really helps.
If you’re looking for a great Therapist/Psychologist I recommend Dr. Anderson. I have been seeing Kent for many years now and he has been nothing short of amazing! Where I have been quickly dismissed by other healthcare professionals like many people are, being told, “it’s all in your head”, “it’s just anxiety it’ll pass”, and last but not least, “you are just being dramatic.” Kent has never waved off my concerns, never been dismissive of issues that affect me big or small. After being brushed off by many Kent actually referred me to another healthcare professional that could help me where he couldn’t because he truly wants the best for his patients.
He often pushes me to see things from another perspective. After visiting with him on one occasion he looked at me and said “don’t you think you could’ve handled that situation better, think about it this way…” And you know what he was right, I left his office and apologized to the person who was involved because where I was short sighted and in my head Kent helped me see where I was wrong and pushed me to correct that wrong.
He has also on many occasions assured me that I was right, what I was feeling was valid, and it’s ok to feel that way. But he always asks how do you think you can make this better. How can he help the situation, and offers very sound, professional, advice for each situation.
One thing he says is “oh so you’re human!” He does his best to treat people we are all human, we all make mistakes, but how can we grow to be better, healthier, and happier in our lives. I believe it is Kent’s goal to have all his patients leave his office with this mindset.
He truly has gone above and beyond to help me whether it’s just by listening to me rant about the chaos of life, or going out of his way to write a letter of recommendation for me so I can achieve my own goals.
To be honest if you are looking for a therapist who says things like, “you are always so right, you’re a perfect person!” Then I’m afraid Kent is not the right guy for you. But if you want to grow, change, live better, just might need a little guidance (we all do) then look no further.
Thank you Dr. Kent Anderson for all that you do!
It has been a pleasure to work with Kent, he always works for the betterment of his patients! He brings a human side to this profession. He’s willing to take the journey with you and even share some of his hardships in life. Thank you for always providing a safe space! May your faith in Jesus always be strong!

Matthew 9: 11-13
I’ve been seeing Dr. Anderson on and off for nearly a decade, starting when I was in high school. Back then, I felt stuck in a mold I didn’t fit into, and he was the first person who helped me see things differently and gave me the mindset to build my own path forward.
Over the years, that shift in perspective has shaped so many big parts of my life from leaving a faith that didn’t fit me, to finishing my education in my own way, to pursuing work and personal goals that feel right for me. He’s never pushed me toward a “one size fits all” approach, but instead helped me find clarity and confidence in making my own choices.
What I appreciate most is that he listens, challenges me when I need it, and has always treated me like an individual and a friend, not just a patient. Even when life has thrown major challenges my way, I credit his guidance years ago for giving me the tools and perspective to handle them.
I can't thank you enough for all the support and guidance.
I've had different therapists for the past ten years with little progress. I didn't think it was possible for me to recover from OCD. After meeting with Dr. Anderson for the past six months or so, I've actually started to recover, and that recovery has come from him helping me realize that recovery IS possible. I'm much more confident in my abilities to pursue my goals, much less stressed when I get intrusive thoughts, and am very hopeful about my future. I've also found myself being much more productive (and without being driven by guilt-- yay!).
Dr. Anderson has a laid back, but educated approach. He doesn't have a strict agenda about what to discuss in the session, and that makes it more tailored to the individual client's issues. His casual environment makes it easy for his clients to open up. He gets excited when he sees progress in his clients and makes sure they see it in themselves. He's relatable and draws from life experiences as well as what he's learned from his extensive training. If there's ever a disagreement, he is always willing to hear you out and find a solution that works for both parties.
I would highly recommend him as a therapist.
I’ve been seeing Kent for about 4 years & I can honestly say I’ve never met anyone as brilliant and genuinely compassionate as him. He knows and understands me more than anyone ever has.
Kent has taught me how to love myself and has shown me what unconditional love and acceptance look like. He’s been like a father figure to me & someone I deeply respect and admire. He’s helped me grow in ways I never thought possible, and I honestly don’t know where I’d be without him.
He is a remarkable person and an extraordinary psychologist.
I've been seeing Dr. Anderson for two years. Initially, I didn't want to write a review because there was a wait list & appointments were hard to get. I didn't want to share how amazing he was. I've seen a good handful of counselors and therapists. Some good, some bad... Dr. Anderson is exceptional! I wanted a psychologist, someone who was well trained and educated. I needed someone who could help with a faith crisis. What I got was a genuinely kind, knowledgeable, skilled, warm professional. I have had many ups and downs in his office, and he has helped me every time. From challenges with faith, marriage, depression... the whole gambit. He is THE. MOST. HELPFUL. DR. I have ever had.
Dr. Kent is amazing! He has helped me through the most challenging part of my life. He breaks the stigma that a lot of people have about therapy. I feel like he cares and values his patients. Truly don’t know what I would have done without his talks and guidance. Highly recommend him to anyone.
