I have been with June Homes for nearly four years: two years in New York and almost two years in Los Angeles, and my experience has been consistently excellent. From lease signing to moving in, every step of the process has been smooth and well-organized.
Their property management team is attentive and responsive, with managers available to visit whenever needed. The internal ticketing system is efficient and reliable, ensuring that any concerns are addressed promptly and resolved quickly. Both the accounting and sales teams are equally impressive in their professionalism and support.
On a few occasions when I was late with my monthly payments, the team handled the situation with flexibility and understanding, never causing any inconvenience. Their professionalism and customer-focused approach truly stand out.

I had a difficult experience with June Homes after staying with them for several years. This review reflects my personal experience.
While the platform may seem convenient at first, my experience over time became increasingly stressful due to several recurring issues — including unclear utility charges, inconsistent communication, and lack of effective support when problems arose.
One major concern for me was the uncertainty around roommates. In my experience, you often don’t know who you will be living with, and when issues or disruptive behavior occur, they can be very difficult to resolve. I felt that tenants may end up bearing much of the risk themselves, which made me feel that my sense of safety was not fully guaranteed — especially when dealing with difficult or unpredictable roommate situations.
In one case involving serious roommate-related concerns (which eventually involved police), I did not feel that my safety concerns were treated with urgency. During that time, I had to arrange temporary housing at my own expense.
After the situation escalated, I was eventually offered a penalty-free early termination option. However, this was conditional on agreeing to additional terms, which, based on my understanding, included certain restrictions related to making public comments about the experience. Personally, I found this difficult to process given the circumstances, as I was primarily trying to leave due to safety concerns and find a stable living situation.
Despite paying monthly management fees, I personally did not feel that I received the level of service or support I expected. When issues occurred, responses sometimes felt limited, inconsistent, or not clearly communicated, and I often felt that I had to handle situations on my own without effective resolution.
There were also ongoing issues with basic living conditions. During winter, I experienced repeated periods without consistent hot water. Although I reported this multiple times, the issue was not fully resolved, and I was at one point told that this could be “normal” in New York due to older infrastructure — which I personally found difficult to understand as a tenant paying rent and fees.
I also experienced challenges with billing transparency, including utility charges and security deposit deductions. In my experience, some charges were not clearly explained in advance, and I had to follow up multiple times to understand the details. In certain cases, I received charges that appeared unexpectedly high and not clearly explained, which I personally found difficult to understand. At times, there were inconsistencies or later corrections mentioned, which made the process feel confusing and difficult to follow.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering this platform to carefully review lease terms, billing details, and potential risks, and to look beyond just overall ratings when researching. In my experience, I have received emails offering incentives (such as gift cards) in connection with leaving reviews, and I still have records of these communications.Because of this, I found it more helpful to read detailed and critical feedback to gain a more complete understanding of different user experiences.
This is only my personal experience, but I hope it helps others make a more informed decision.
Personally, this experience was very difficult and quite stressful, and it has stayed with me as a deeply uncomfortable and memorable experience. Based on what I went through, I would not consider using June Homes again.
My previous living situation fell through at the last minute and I was literally looking for a place to stay starting the next day. I found a room on the Junehomes website and the application process was incredibly fast. The window in my room was a bit stiff to open at first, maintenance team saw my note in the check-in survey and came by to lubricate the tracks the very next morning.

FRAUD ALERT!!! Do NOT rent through June homes. Please read the reviews on Reddit. They lie on their website by listing properties in wrong neighborhood. The prices listed are not what they charge for rent — they add at least $300 to $400 dollars worth of EXTRA CHARGES per month to your rent against your lease agreement. They will harass you nonstop if you refuse to pay charges that weren’t part of your lease. They don’t return security deposits, and the list goes on. Save yourself the trouble and don’t lease anything through June homes.

Make sure you see the place before signing the lease, specially if you're renting in Boston. Their website showed 3D Deceiving pictures of rooms, that are often unfinished, of apartment with imaginary washer and dryer, while they are located in a creepy basement. Most of their home in Boston have mice infestation... .the worst rental experience. Someone broke something they'll make you pay for it.
Please go check before renting. Gas, internet and electricity bills are jacked up. ..

I rented through June Homes, and based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be cautious before signing a lease with them.
This was not one isolated issue. It was a consistent pattern of poor management, lack of accountability, and, at times, concerning living conditions.
1) Mandatory $109/month fee
Tenants were required to pay a non-negotiable $109 per month for:
once-a-month cleaning
“24/7 support”
The cleaning itself was acceptable, but it only happened once a month, which was not enough for shared housing.
The “24/7 support” was largely ineffective. Most responses consisted of:
generic troubleshooting steps
requests for photos
little to no actual resolution
It did not feel like meaningful support despite the cost.
2) Condition and maintenance issues
From the beginning, there were basic problems that should have been addressed before move-in, including non-working fixtures and general wear.
After settling in, I also noticed additional damage such as dents and paint issues that had not been documented. Because of how issues were handled, I felt the need to photograph and report everything myself to avoid being charged later.
3) Heating issue during winter
My room was noticeably colder than the rest of the apartment even when the thermostat was set to 73°F.
Support asked me to purchase a thermometer and provide proof. Since the temperature technically met the legal minimum, no further action was taken, even though the difference was obvious.
4) Appliances not functioning
The washer and dryer were unusable for an extended period.
I followed all troubleshooting steps and even attempted model-specific fixes myself. A technician was only sent after a long delay.
5) Being charged for issues I did not cause
At one point, the kitchen sink became completely clogged due to other residents.
Support initially told me to resolve it myself using tools that were not even provided. When a plumber was eventually scheduled, the cost was going to be split among all tenants, including those who did not cause the issue.
6) Shared housing with no oversight
In a shared living setup, basic oversight is essential. That was not present.
Common areas were often left unclean, and when this was reported, no action was taken. There were no reminders, no intervention, and no effort to maintain basic shared living standards.
7) Safety concerns
There were also concerning situations during my stay.
During a maintenance visit, one of the residents was found unresponsive and emergency services had to be contacted. While the situation eventually resolved, it raised serious concerns about safety in a shared housing environment.
More generally:
there was no guarantee of being matched with responsible roommates
there was no clear screening for shared living compatibility
bedroom door locks were not standard and required additional payment
These are important factors in shared housing that directly affect safety and comfort.
8) Overall experience
My experience included:
ongoing maintenance issues
having to document damage to protect my deposit
poor heating during winter
non-functional appliances with delayed repair
being held financially responsible for issues caused by others
lack of cleanliness in shared spaces
lack of oversight in a shared living environment
a mandatory $109 monthly fee that did not match the service provided
Final takeaway
Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting through June Homes.
If you are considering it, especially for shared housing, I would strongly suggest exploring other options and carefully reviewing how responsibilities and support are handled before signing a lease.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND BREACH OF CONTRACT
I signed a lease extension (which included an increase in rent) and a few weeks later June withdrew the extension leaving me without housing and refusing to provide suitable alternatives. For clarity the extension had been fully executed.
Since then, I have tried to stay in regular contact with June to provide an alternative accommodation, as now I am faced with needing to find a 4 - 5 month accommodation during peak season. Honestly despicable practices here and no one seems to take ownership of anything while I keep getting bounced around from person to person.
I wish I didn’t have to write this review but I am being left no choices.

I highly recommend June Homes! My experience with them has been great. They offer flexible payment options, even allowing international co-signers, which makes everything much easier and less stressful specially if you are an international visitor. The whole process, from booking to moving in, was smooth, well organized, and fast.
They are very responsive and provide quick solutions whenever any issues come up. The only thing I would improve is the cleaning service, as it’s not very frequent, but overall is a convenient and reliable option. Definitely recommend!

While studying at Northeastern University, I stayed for a semester in a June Homes apartment at 1885 South End in the South End.
The location was really convenient and getting to campus was easy. The neighborhood has lots of cafes and small shops, which made daily life comfortable.
The room was furnished, which helped since I had just moved to Boston. The apartment was shared and one of my roommates was also a student, so the atmosphere was pretty relaxed. Overall a good option for student housing.

Awful company to rent/lease any sort property. My landlord put me with June last year for a property that I was occupying myself for 7 months before i called off the lease. They charged me an arm and a leg to cancel it and charged me for a broken couch that I did not break. I recommend staying away from them,
