Du concret ! Les leçons avec Alex Terrier, c'est pas du chiqué.
A chaque standard les concepts théoriques sont abordés, et immédiatement mis en pratique. Rien à voir avec des cours vidéos impersonnels, là on peut interagir collectivement avec le prof (très sympa).
Bien entendu les replays sont disponibles pour se rafraîchir la mémoire ou bosser d'autres concepts (triades, bassline, ...).
Mes seuls regrets sont de n'avoir pas connu ces cours avant, et de manquer parfois de temps pour pratiquer. Mais quelle joie de pouvoir y participer 😊

Clase excelente. Este ejercicio mata dos pájaros de un tiro. Por una parte sirve para memorizar la progresión de acordes, pero además efectúa el paso de la 7ª a la 3ª entre acordes. Por si fuera poco además introduce la sustitución tritonal en acordes dominantes. No se puede ofrecer más en un único ejercicio. ¡Me has sorprendido Alex¡

Alex Terrier’s classes offer a great bridge into the world of jazz at a level that is perfect for classically trained musicians or players with a solid technical base. A typical session includes harmonic analysis of a jazz standard based on original recordings, bass line and chord tones approach to voice leading, followed by more advanced substitutions and various approaches to embellishing harmonic motion. Occasional interviews and seminars given by invited jazz players from the New York or the Paris scene also contribute to make his classes a tremendous value. Thumbs up!

Very knowledgeable and personable instructor. The ideas covered in the webinar were presented in a progressive manner from simple to more complex. Demonstrations on the piano and verbal advice were timely and useful. Overall a beneficial experience; time well spent. Thank you Alex!!

Jazz Vidéo Lessons est sans aucun doute l’un des meilleurs sites pour étudier sérieusement le jazz. Alex Terrier au delà d’être un musicien talentueux et reconnu au niveau international est également un excellent pédagogue. Le site est très bien fait et tu pourras y trouver toutes les réponses que tu te poses sur le jazz (méthode de travail, théorie, études de standards…). Je recommande vivement ce site à tous les musiciens débutants comme confirmés qui désirent étudier le jazz, n’hésitez pas et foncez vous ne le regretterez pas!

Alex's lesson have been awesome. He has taken my playing to a level which I never dreamt I would reach. The method of practice he teaches develops a systematic disciplined approach which is hard work, but very rewarding if you put the time in. His knowledge of music theory applied to the structure of tunes is so helpful to understand how the tune works. I have had a wonderful experience with his lessons and would recommend them to other players who are serious about improvement. Thank you Alex!
