I recently tried Island Empanada and really loved it! The Philly Cheesesteak empanada was absolutely delicious! the texture inside was perfect, and the gooey cheesiness made every bite amazing. You could really taste the flavor and quality.
I also tried the Mac & Cheese Bacon empanada, which was just okay for me. It had a nice flavor, but it was a little on the dry side compared to the Philly Cheesesteak one.
Overall, I really enjoyed this place! The empanadas were fresh, flavorful, and unique. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more flavors next time
I went there. The food sucked and expensive. Beef balls were fried with bread crumbs. They are not fried in bread crumbs. They had an a fro American kid and a white kid working there. None spoke spanish. Don't waste your money in that make believe Puerto Rican restaurant. The sweet plantains were burned.
We asked for rellenosde papa, he kept saying laoded potatoes. It was made so crispy it's a shame. The rice was hard.the yellow plantains burned. Empanada very dry. I hate to give such a low review, but when I got home everything went in the garbage. The only thing that was good was the beans.
These empanadas are delicious and the plus is that they have such a variety. We ordered the variety box with rice and beans and I could eat that everyday with all that flavor. Philly cheese steak, shrimp, beef, chicken, pasteleon and Buffalo chicken and that is just a few. I hope the reviews on this place get better because I see them around for awhile.
Great place for Empanada, many varieties to choose from, my favorite is Pasteleon Empanada and you can't miss with Beef & Cheese or Chicken & Cheese! Be prepared to wait a few, service sometimes although friendly can be a bit slow. Definitely would come back for more Empanada or order ahead not to wait so long!
We ordered 20 empanadas from Island Empanadas through Uber Eats, and when my son bit into one, he pulled a METAL WIRE with food wrapped around it out of his mouth! When my husband went in to report the issue, the manager explained that the empanadas are not made on-site but are produced in a processing plant and shipped to all of their locations. They also mentioned that this has happened before. While the staff was apologetic, we’re concerned that this could happen again. My son could have been seriously hurt, and we are disgusted by this. It's important for everyone to know that they do not prepare their food on-site.
