I did years of research before I found Mrs Vanessa Routley. Her website shows more information than other lawyers’ pages I came across. Her video explains thoroughly what she does. I read the reviews online and it was easy to schedule my consultation. On the day of, one of her patients had an emergency. She quickly sent me an email to let me know and to reschedule. Though she offered another time that day I couldn’t because I had a doctor’s appointment. She even called me but unfortunately, I missed it. So I called back, spoke to her receptionist and was rescheduled for the next day! During the consultation, she listened to me and asked questions to better understand my case. She explained to me that she couldn’t take my case because the border was closed and though we spoke 30+ minutes, she refunded me. I appreciate the communication the sooner she could when she wasn’t able to see me at the initial scheduled time. Furthermore, her being present for a client that had an Emergency, doing her best to accommodate her clients and communicate shows professionalism, attentiveness, flexibility, and compassion. Please if you have any immigration issues, contact her. You will not regret it.

UPDATE: After this post Vanessa reached out to me. She stated that my experience was not reflective of their business. She shared that there were some changes in staff, and within that might've affected how my case was handled. I am already with another lawyer, and although I am disappointed over the experience I do appreciate her calling to apologize personally and making it up, which speaks of her, and makes me hopeful that my case was just an isolated instance. We did a lot of research on her, as we had found a video about her helping with immigration from U.S. to Canada, and it all seemed perfect. We set up a consultation in early February 2021. Mrs. Vanessa appeared professional, empathetic, and knowledgeable explaining different options for us. She told us she would gladly take our case, and calmed our fears about the process. She told us to take a week to make a decision "as nothing is going to change in a week" and from there we will sign the agreement and pay the first portion. We waited a week and contacted her to the only email I had to the firm from the questionnaire sent before the consult. However, we did not get a response. I waited another week, and found a 1(888) number in the website, the receptionist stated she would relay the message to Vanessa who had stepped out. Again, no response. We never got a response. I am extremely disappointed, regardless if there was some miscommunication, if she was busy, or if she simply could not take on our case- or did not want to, I wish I would have been given the respect to be called or emailed back by her or someone in her team.
