This was my second time staying at the orchard and we had a wonderful girls weekend get away. The location is lovely with a pond and orchards to roam around and is very peaceful and private. We loved being able to just hang out and play games and talk and take walks outdoors. Downtown Media is very nearby so if you want to go out for dinner there are plenty of nice places very close to the orchard. Gaile was a very friendly host and even dropped by some home made apple sauce for us that was delicious. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. I would recommend staying here and would stay here again.
Yes the fields, flowers, fruits and veggies all look wonderful. Apples are very, very tasty! And the idea of organic food is great.
Yes fun can be had….at a cost…..everything has a cost.
Wasn’t expecting all the high prices and deceiving practices like the hayride “out to the orchard” (additional fee) from which we‘d literally just walked up and into the Farmstand where we dropped close to $200 by the time everything including, $.75/basket, no you can NOT bring in your own, and the additional fee to enter the orchard were collected. No the hayride is NOT necessary to reach the orchard.
It’s literally where we had just parked.
Hayride was no more than a circular ride around the barn in a wagon hardly covered with hay which made for an extra hard, bumpy ride in a wagon with NO back to it so falling out is easily possible even for adults. This is all a highly recommended fun thing to do by the owner but don’t fall for it.
We bought the delicious and yes also pricey $10/64oz apple cider.
Note well that there are NO preservatives in this so DO USE it quickly after opening. We did not and unfortunately had to pour out almost all of it due to a black mold that appeared inside the bottle.
I applaud the now fifth generation owners who are trying their best to save their property from encroaching development, which would be a shame to see it go that route, I agree.
Make no mistake though that YOUR money is helping to save it too.

Thanks for the review, Jim! Glad you met Mr. Cruise.
Fantastic prices and experience for the family!
Bad people bad customer service.. entrance fee is $11 most days. They charge a lot for apples to buy. You can’t even taste an apple to see if they taste good. Mostly rotten and it’s not big place. And if you picked little much by mistake they will say you must buy them all or they will call cops on you. Really shady business people. If you want to have a good time with family and kids I suggest you check reviews before you go. I highly recommend this places cheap to buy and enter

Hi Mohammad - thanks for taking the time to review. Let me just correct a few things for other people reading who might be influenced by your review.
First, the entrance fee is $11.99 on weekends in Mid-September through October, not most days. Most days (5 out of 7) it's $3.50. Mostly rotten and not a big place are of course subjective statements.
There are no orchards in the area that allow you to eat fruit while picking. I'm going to respond at length to your other family members' reviews since you all took the time to individually give us a one star review, even though it was one large group.

I visited with my family and have never been treated so poorly at any business. The signage was vague and gave no clear indication that every single item picked had to be purchased. Our children naturally picked more than we intended.
When we approached the register, the very first words out of the staff’s mouth were, “How many did you put in your car without paying for it?”—a baseless, insulting accusation. We had done absolutely nothing wrong.
We calmly explained the misunderstanding and even asked if we could leave some behind since it was far more than expected. Instead of a shred of courtesy or understanding, we were met with hostility and a threat to call the police.
This was an outrageous overreaction and a complete failure of customer service. We were honest, polite, and willing to pay for what we intended to take—yet we were treated like criminals.
I will never return, and I strongly urge others to stay away. No family deserves to be humiliated like this.

Hi Dilruba -
Let me first give a bit of context to your review, which we can back up with camera footage.
Your large group of about 15 people came into the orchard at around 3 p.m. You then proceeded to go on the hayride twice and get free samples twice. After that, your group brought coolers of food and drinks and ate on the patio for quite some time. After that, the group then carried camping chairs and blankets and proceeded to sit in the lower orchard while some of the group went picking.
When you came to the stand to check out, you apparently forgot to bring all of the apples that you'd picked. One of our staffers overheard someone in your party talking about how expensive the apples were, and that they should just be put in the car without paying for them. That was the foundation of our "baseless" claim.
We would never greet a customer with the phrase "“How many did you put in your car without paying for it?" That is indeed terrible customer service. I would know since I was the one who began the transaction. This is also a claim that can easily be proved via our cameras in the store, which we will happily do.
There are signs all over the orchards, including a giant sign over the counter when you first check in stating that a) you shouldn't eat in the orchard and b) you should pay for what you pick. I reminded you of these, and you were told of them when you first came in. After our staffer retrieved the baskets that you tried to throw away, no one in your party wanted to pay for them. I gave the option to pay for what you picked, since we can't glue apples back on tree. Any apple that's picked and then abandoned can't be picked by another person. Only after you were asked to pay for the apples did we give you the option of a) paying the additional $30-60 dollars for those apples, or b) us calling the police. We've never had to call the police before and hope that it never comes to that point. We thank you for paying for the apples that you and your family picked.
You were neither honest nor polite nor willing to pay for what you intended to take - you only paid after you were confronted with your actions. Other orchards in the area don't even give you the opportunity to pay after you've been caught stealing - the police are called immediately.
We want our customers to have a good time, but the fruit is not free.
We're going to give you a few days to take this down, and if it's not, we'll unfortunately have to consider legal action.

Hi Lovely - I'm responding shortly here since I'll respond a bit longer to your other family member's review, but our apples are $3.49 per pound.
The apples here taste delicious. I want to go back for more! Also, want to go for other pyo produce.
It’s a very simple, small, non-commercialized farm with tasty produce. What more is there to ask for?
