Set up an appointment for 4pm I had to call at 4:40 pm to have them tell me they could not make it a would like to reschedule for Monday am. I just cancelled, not away to do a customer when pricing a job
Bad experience. I hired Index Fence because they advertised a specific type of fence that no one else offered. Once work began, the installation dragged on for nearly a month. The owner claimed there were issues in the Raleigh area in early December 2024, and said his workers could not come to work, which caused repeated delays.
During installation, the crew--who did not speak English--placed the fence too close to my neighbor's house. When I raised the issue, they refused to move it. They claimed I had instructed them to place it there, which is incorrect, and the owner also refused to correct the placement.
About six months after the fence was installed, it started falling apart. There are now large gaps between the doors, and although they said the wood was pressure-treated, it's already buckling. I've tried reaching out multiple times, but they refuse to return my calls or fix the problems
I met Miguel when they were working on my neighbor's fence. The new fence was so beautiful. I asked for a price to do my fence. I'm delighted with the work they did. It was fast and incredibly efficient! No trash left behind. A very fair price for an EXCELLENT job. Very happy with the work!

I met the owner Miguel Pagan and his crew while they were installing a beautiful fence in my neighborhood. I introduced myself and gave Miguel my information. Figured I might hear back in a few days but was pleasantly surprised to have him ring my doorbell a couple of hours later!
We had kind of a unique situation because we weren’t looking for the typical fence in our yard. We simply needed an area big enough to contain our two small dogs and grandson that would also be pleasing to the eye. Miguel explained clearly what he could do within my budget and we had a deal!!!
Two days later his crew showed up (great people) and worked most of the day to create a gorgeous backyard courtyard for our precious grandson and dear pups!
I can’t give 100 stars like Index Fence deserves but hopefully you’ll give them a call for your fencing needs.

Index Fence did an amazing job! From start to finish, the process was smooth and professional. The team showed up on time, worked efficiently, and paid attention to every detail. My new fence looks incredible — strong, clean, and exactly what I wanted. They were upfront about pricing, answered all my questions, and made sure I was happy before finishing. If you need a reliable fencing company that delivers quality work, I highly recommend Index Fence!
It's painful to leave a three-star review and I've thought long and hard about doing so. But companies have to live with the work they do and the decisions they make, and future customers deserve an honest take from fellow homeowners. Ultimately, I give Index three stars because:
- They sent out a crew that had never worked for them before. This made me feel like a guinea pig. The crew's work quality was so-so and the attention to detail was substandard. The job was supposed to take one day. It took two and the crew finished after it was fully dark on the second day. The crew was one young guy who did 80 percent of the work, one older gentleman who was operating at roughly quarter-speed, and the young guy's very pregnant wife who pitched in as well (which was a bit uncomfortable).
- Part of the fence was built flush with a small tree that was growing into the fence itself. That section of the fence was bowing inward mere days after installation. I had to make relief cuts in the tree just to relieve the pressure. Sloppy.
- There was an immense amount of debris left behind, mostly leftover chunks of concrete. I cleaned up 90 percent of it myself. Took me the better part of an hour. The posthole cement was sloppily poured on many posts ... jagged, unsightly, and obviously not something I can fix on my own. Sloppy.
- The gate was poorly built. It stopped latching cleanly after a week or so, and I had to request someone come back out and address it. The whole thing remains flimsy to this day, and now roughly nine months later, I have to wrestle the gate to get it latched. It's visibly out of true. I'm resigned to the reality that I may need to replace the entire gate at some point.
- I noticed a couple of boards beginning to warp after 3-4 months. The company declined to replace them. After all the other issues, it would've been good will on their part to replace them. Alas.
- I give three stars, and not two, because the company was responsive in general. They sent out a company rep to check out my concerns in person. But there were simply so many smaller issues that I wound up pressing for resolution only on the most important ones. Index did resolve several issues, but it seemed clear they were prepared to only go so far, leaving me with a job that felt 97 percent complete. I don't think my expectations for a fence were unrealistic. This particular crew just did mediocre work and ignored some obvious details, and it was pretty disappointing after coughing up $4K for the job.
I suspect your mileage will vary based on the crew you are assigned. Given that Index apparently farms out its jobs to a network of subcontractors, make sure you ask lots of questions about the crew you're getting (experience level, how many jobs done for Index, etc.). You may get a better result than I did.
I recently had a 6’ privacy fence installed by Index Fencing, and I couldn’t be happier! From start to finish, everything went super smoothly. The salesstaff were quick to respond, the permit process was handled for me, utilities were marked without a hitch, and the installation was right on schedule.
The crew that came out worked hard and managed to get the entire fence done in just one day. They even used the extra dirt from the post holes to grade my backyard before leaving — which was such a nice surprise!
The fence looks amazing, and the whole experience was stress-free from beginning to end. I’d absolutely recommend Index Fencing to anyone looking for a great company that does quality work and truly cares about their customers.

I recently worked with Index Fence on a small repair job, and wanted to update this review accordingly.
While the quality of work was ultimately acceptable, the communications and execution of the repair were not satisfactory.
The initial invoice wasn't appropriately scoped based on the conversation I had with the Project Consultant who performed the on-site assessment; it included fees for demolition and disposal services (neither were expected nor discussed), was excessive in scope (written for a 24' section of fencing, when only an 18' section was actually damaged in any way) and did not include any information on a request to re-use any of the undamaged materials initially used in construction of the fence in its original form.
I was also surprised that I was asked to pay for the job in full before any work was completed. I am used to paying some proportion of the invoice prior to beginning work, but found it unusual that payment in full was required before we could even proceed with scheduling. The Office Manager did eventually clarify that "for small repairs and modification work... we do require full payment up front".
So, overall, still a decent firm for fence modifications/construction, but the pattern of inadequate communication and unusual business practices leave something to be desired.

I just moved into a new home and was eager to get a fence up so that my dog could enjoy the yard. I reached out to Index Fence and heard back from them that day and a couple days later we were plotting out the fence. My yard is a little tricky because I wanted the fence to run between some trees and there are several veins of granite running through the property, not to mention some awkwardly placed septic caps. Despite a couple of setbacks (that granite I mentioned earlier required some extra work) Index Fence got everything installed and it looks great! Everyone from the office to the project consultants to the workers were super friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend Index Fence!
