Good starting place Great resource to explore the things driving us to eat aside from biological hunger. I learned so much about myself, and I already do therapy and wonderful support groups. Highly recommend.

Such a great tool This book helped me become so much more aware of the psychological and emotional hungers that drive me to eat. The stories of her patients and her own personal stories are so relatable and really help you see your own patterns. I highly recommend reading this in a group or with a therapist and processing it with others. Dr. Youdim also has accompanying resources on her website that I'm excited to check out.

More emotional than helpful; book geared to women The 1st quarter of the book is helpful. It really helped my wife. Women over eat for a zillion different reasons, but for guys, we’re not as emotional. This book is not a book for guys. We over eat because we’re lazy, or we live alone and hate to cook. I over eat because I’m lazy. However, for some men, and a few women, learning why we over eat is helpful. This book is not geared for men. The one thing my wife and I agreed upon is, I grew tired when the author kept injecting her life and experiences into her work.

Hungry for More is for you and everyone you know! This is a revolution, not another diet book.Everyone that I know can relate to multiple stories.Perfection. Soothing. Abundance. Self-acceptance. Motivation. Connection. Sleep. Presence. Meaning. Balance. These are only a few of the hungers that Dr. Youdim makes sense of as they relate to the psychology behind what we eat, how we eat, when we eat and why.The concepts she shares through client stories, personal experience, and her whole-person focused, professional expertise are the foundations to longstanding, positive societal improvements in health and wellness. Please do our world a favor and share Hungry for More far and wide.

Hungry for More from this author!! I received this book as a gift from the author, whom I've had the pleasure of working with for the past few years. Dr. Adrienne Youdim is the real deal. She is heartfelt, smart, and wise. This book is just what is needed to jump start those "New Year's Resolutions" that can happen at any time of year. She shares personal stories, patient stories, and weaves great science in between. A must read!!

This book is as real as our collective human experience! I can't say enough about this book, about the depths of understanding human nature and our vulnerabilities found in each story. Reading each page, you can't help but feel understood, acknowledged, moved, transformed and grow. Dr Youdim is not only a brilliant physician to be able to so naturally tap into the deeper layers of "why?", she's also a captivating writer. I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone.

Found a piece of myself in every chapter The message in every chapter hit home for me! The emotional eating that I had shoved under the carpet, was recognized and understood as an immigrant, a mother, a driven career woman, an Iranian Jewish daughter, and so much more. Thank you Adrienne for connecting the dots for me.

Refreshing take on hunger, weight loss/gain and more As a clinician, I really found Dr. Youdim's perspectives refreshing. The role of compassion for everyone and navigating the spiritual, physiologic and psychological mechanisms of our relationship with food, hunger and body perception. Definitely a book I will recommend to my patients!

Dr. Youdim is a wealth of knowledge Not only is Dr. Youdim an extremely knowledgeable practitioner whose book will serve as the much needed guide for so many, but she’s an incredible person. I’m fortunate to call her a friend and feel that it’s always rewarding to know that the writer behind the book is also a real person. She’s approachable, intelligent, caring, supportive, hilarious, and the person you can trust. 11/10 I recommend this book! Great work, Dr. Youdim!

This book resonates and hits your core, I promise you WILL CRY! Dr. Youdim has done a phenomenal job showing her vulnerability in this book and demonstrates how we all have some childhood traumas that will eventually show up in our lives in one way or another whether is addiction to food, drugs, sex, etc. I cried through the stories of her book as I could relate my life to those of her patients. I told myself…… we are all same but different. It’s incredible how in our current society today not many doctors are addressing the pain and stress associated with this physical stress one goes through because of trauma. Rather they give you a pill and call it a day. How selfish and cruel could our current medical practitioners be? Dr. Youdim approach is no magic pill but she is so in tuned with what society needs that this book is an introduction to a possibility of learning to heal and love yourself again!

Understanding hunger goes beyond hunger for food. Beautifully written and a book that brings to life hunger which we all struggle with in some capacity as Dr. Youdim teaches us it represents more than food. It is hunger for connection, for belonging, for understanding and for meaning. Dr. Youdim approach to hunger and weight loss is brilliant.

What are you REALLY hungry for? This book is everything. So much of our struggles with food and weight loss have nothing to do with food and so much more to do with our emotions and what's missing in life. This book gets to the deeper layers of our habits and the deep meaning behind food, tradition, eating, and how all those are wrapped up in a complex web.Dr. Youdim is candid and vulnerable with her own struggles which makes this book so relatable. So many times I couldn't help but say, "me too" as I was reading along.Do yourself a favor and read this book and give it to all your friends. It will feed your soul.

An empowering must-read! This book is a must for anyone who has ever struggled with weight loss. Everyone could gain new insights about themselves by reading it. It’s honest, relatable & packed with a whole new perspective. I like that it included looking to yourself for the answers. This book keeps you reading because it keeps getting more interesting. The author makes her message feel very personal and you begin to feel more like a friend, not just someone reading a book. Totally brilliant & inspirational. I absolutely loved it!Nanaz F.

More than Just a Diet Book When I heard Dr. Youdim is writing a book, I assumed it is going to be written about dieting. When I read the book, I realized how wrong I was. This book is not a self help diet book. It is not to teach you what and how to eat. It is not to tell you how to count your calories or how to eat less carbs or fat. Reading this book, you can tell that Dr. Youdim has been dedicated and in addition to her experience in her field of medicine, she has spent a lot of hours studying the science behind the stress of eating and weight gains. Dr. Youdim understands and has written a book about subjects that resonates with many of us and our feelings. I appreciated her honesty and openness to read about her own personal experiences. She has touched all of us readers, in one way or the other. I identified with several segments of the book myself. As a young child I always felt I was heavier than my friends at school and sometimes if asked, I wanted to lie about my age. In my teen years, when I first came to this country, I missed my family and my friends so much that I gained a lot of weight in a very short time. Being a student in a new country and a new school with limited knowledge of English language, trying to prove myself, obviously, didn’t help.I highly recommend Dr. Youdim’s book as all readers will find a section or a topic that they can identify with. If not several topics, at least one that will give comfort to the reader that regardless of what issue it is that he or she has to overcome; starting a new job and having to prove oneself; starting a new family; having and raising children; insecurities; not having enough time for yourself and your family; and more, he or she is not alone in their struggles.I am looking forward to her next book.Minoo M.

Wish I had read this book years ago…. I have tried every diet: WW, Noom, Atkins, Keto, Bright Line Eating. I can do any diet temporary and loose weight, but KEEPING it off is my problem. This book has opened my eyes to the underlying issues that can prevent long term weight loss. Easy read, you can geek out on the science and references or not. I love the blend of anecdotal evidence or patient stories, along with the authors own personal struggles. I wish I was able to read this years ago - it would have changed my mindset and lessened my struggles with food. Well done Dr. Adrienne!
