A simple set up but perfectly executed. Lovely staff especially the manager Karol. Hearty breakfast. The room was large & very clean. The shower was a little fiddly to get hot water but there was a knack. Fun watching the spider monkeys come and go from the room. 😊

Location cannot be beat - directly on Caribbean oceanfront with beach chair area and 2 spacious under cover areas for dining & relaxing, plus an all - day outdoor bar/cafe. Good hearty CR breakfast (continental also offered.) We wished there was swimming, but the current/riptides are just too strong - beautiful to watch the waves and walk the long beach though.
Located on the East side of the village, an easy walk from the main "street" and boat transportation. (no motorized vehicles - transportation within the canals by boat, and in town along dirt or paved paths, both of which added to the feeling and enjoyment of Tortuguero.)
Good space in the rooms, good sized bathroom, comfortable beds, clean.
Tortuguero was a special experience - for the natural surroundings but also the environment of the village and people. Don't miss learning about Sea Turtle history & global conservation efforts at the SeaTurtle Conservatory just north of the village (watch the movie to get the full scope). We had a great chat with a very knowledgeable tour guide waiting for his group to watch the movie - shared experiences re: our respective home habitats - very enjoyable and informative.
Our experiences with Roots guides (canal tour and night tour) were wonderful - great knowledge, great outings - enjoyed talking with the person booking the tours, and Febien (Fabien?) our tour guide for both a boat tour and night tour was knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk with. (PS: our hotel's boat ride to Tortuguero was a mini tour of river wildlife - thank you!).
For 2 of the 3 of us, Tortuguero was our favorite experience of the trip across 4 areas (& 2 oceans).
☹ It really was wonderful overall. The only very minor note is our room was a little dim - windows, but on a dim interior courtyard. No worries though, it helped keep the room cool and we weren't there to stay inside our room.

☺ Wundervoller Aufenthalt im Hotel Serendipity, Tortuguero
Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel Serendipity war von Anfang bis Ende großartig. Die Anreise war hervorragend organisiert, inklusive bewachtem Parkplatz und anschließender Bootsfahrt. Vor Ort wurden wir herzlich empfangen und unser Gepäck wurde direkt übernommen.
Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich, das Bett bequem und alles äußerst sauber. Wir hatten All-Inclusive gebucht und waren vom Essen begeistert – individuell zubereitet, sehr flexibel und auch vegetarische Wünsche wurden problemlos berücksichtigt.
Die im Hotel gebuchten Aktivitäten, darunter eine private Bootstour und eine private Führung durch den Nationalpark (Grüße an Jonny), waren tolle Erlebnisse mit sehr kompetenten Guides. Ein großes Lob gilt auch dem unglaublich freundlichen Serviceteam (Grüße an Saray) sowie der großartigen Köchin.
Ein besonderes Highlight war die liebevolle Geburtstagsüberraschung für meine Frau. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Nuestra estancia en el Hotel Serendipity fue fantástica. Desde que llegamos, el trato fue especial: nos recibieron con dos pipas (el coco para beber), un detalle de bienvenida muy bonito.
Lo que más nos impresionó fue la organización de las comidas. Teníamos todo incluido (desayuno, almuerzo y cena) y nos dejaban elegir los horarios con una precisión absoluta. Además, en cada comida siempre había una doble opción para elegir. Todo estaba riquísimo; de hecho, hemos visitado muchos lugares, pero en este hotel es donde mejor hemos comido siempre.
El personal fue muy acogedor y siempre disponible para lo que necesitáramos. La limpieza es de diez: la habitación estaba pulidísima y la limpiaban cada vez que salíamos.
Tortuguero nos ha quedado en el corazón como tierra, y lo mismo nos pasa con este hotel. ¡Una experiencia de 10!

☺ The staff in this small hotel were outstanding. Our room was cleaned several times a day. Our guide Johnny was great. Our excursion with him were all with small groups, so we got more attention. Thank you to the Karol, Alicia, Sarai, Rebecca and the rest of the crew.

Schönes kleines Hotel etwas abseits des Trubels und trotzdem zentral gelegen. Das Team um Karol und Cooper ist supernett und stets bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Frühstück wird frisch und nach Wunsch zubereitet.

Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel Serendipity in Tortuguero war von Anfang bis Ende einfach großartig. Die Anreise mit dem Auto verlief problemlos. Am bewachten Parkplatz wurden wir bereits erwartet, alles war hervorragend organisiert. Von dort ging es weiter mit dem Boot – schon die Überfahrt hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und war ein echtes Erlebnis.
Am Hafen angekommen, wurden wir herzlich empfangen. Unser Gepäck wurde für uns transportiert, sodass wir uns um nichts kümmern mussten. Auch im Hotel selbst war der Empfang äußerst freundlich und herzlich.
Das Zimmer war fantastisch: sehr gemütlich, das Bett ausgesprochen bequem und das Badezimmer sehr sauber!
Wir hatten All-Inclusive gebucht und waren vom Essen begeistert. Die Mahlzeiten wurden individuell für uns zubereitet und auf unsere Wünsche wurde jederzeit eingegangen. Besonders hervorzuheben: Meine Frau ernährt sich vegetarisch, was überhaupt kein Problem darstellte. Die Küche ist hier wirklich flexibel und aufmerksam.
Auch den Wäscheservice haben wir genutzt: morgens abgegeben, abends sauber und ordentlich zurückerhalten – sehr praktisch.
Die Aktivitäten haben wir direkt im Hotel gebucht, darunter eine private Bootstour sowie eine private Führung durch den Nationalpark. Beides können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen – tolle Erlebnisse mit sehr kompetenten Guides.
Zum Abschluss möchten wir das außerordentlich freundliche Serviceteam und die großartige Köchin besonders loben. Das gesamte Team ist sehr jung, engagiert und spricht durchweg gutes Englisch.
Meine Frau hatte Geburtstag und als wir nach unserer Bootstour wieder im Zimmer angekommen sind, wurden etliche Luftballons im Zimmer verteilt und Süßigkeiten bereitgestellt. Danke dafür.
Wir haben die drei Tage in vollen Zügen genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

☺ Die nähe zum Natur und Strand.
☹ Kein Fenster im Zimmer welches man hätte öffnen können. Das Frühstück war nicht abwechslungsreich. Nur zwei zur Auswahl!

Perfekte Unterkunft für einen 3-tägigen Aufenthalt in Tortuguero.
☺ Man hat sich willkommen gefühlt. Das Team um Karol und Cooper war ausgesprochen nett. Alles sehr persönlich, denn das Hotel hat nur 6 Zimmer. Beim Ausfall der Klimaanlage konnten wir problemlos umziehen.
