Picked up a Tesla from this location that was very clearly not cleaned on the inside of out in any way prior to pick up. This was after I waited 10 minutes in the office with no one present despite having the first reservation slot. When the only employee I interacted with - young (in her early 20’s), short (maybe 5ft) black woman with glasses and kinky hair did come in and I asked about my reservation and mentioned I had been waiting forever, your employee stopped dead in her tracks at the door, looked directly at me, and in a very annoyed voice told me 10 minutes isn’t forever, I need to calm down, and that the delay was due to getting my vehicle ready. In most circumstances, the 10 minute delay and dirty vehicle would have been something to just get over. I wouldn’t have left a review, but to think about how this employee knew the condition of the vehicle she was giving to me and still had the audacity to police my words and feeling's as if they weren’t warranted is just unacceptable. It’s honestly concerning. She knew she wasn’t doing her job properly and instead of ignoring my words or apologizing, she decided to point the finger and try to make me wrong.

I make a reservation to pick up a car at 2. I get there and was told I had to get on a waitlist because their cars were spoken for. When I asked why it let me book if they didn’t have any cars - I was told it will always let you book. WORST customer service EVER!!! Avoid this place like the plague

⭐️ 1-Star Review – Never Again I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Hertz. Upon arrival, they did not have the car I had reserved. Instead, they attempted to give me a downgraded vehicle for the same price, and I had to argue just to get the rate adjusted. When they finally brought a car around—after almost 45 minutes of waiting—it was dirty both outside and inside. The exterior was covered in dirt and snow, and the interior had crumbs all over the seats and floor. Even after all that time, the car was still in unacceptable condition. At that point, I decided to cancel my reservation entirely. This isn’t the first time I've had issues—once is an instance, twice is a pattern, and this is the second time I’ve dealt with poor service and lack of preparation from Hertz. I will not be renting from Hertz again.

I’ve rented from Hertz many times, but the experience at this location (1441 S Guilford Rd) is consistently the worst, specifically because of the front desk employee, Mimi. Every single time I come in, she is rude, condescending, and makes the rental process way more difficult than it needs to be.Today I arrived for an 8 AM pickup and didn’t get into my car until around 8:40 AM. I’m 21 and don’t own a car, so I don’t have personal insurance, but my Navy Federal credit card and AAA both provide rental coverage. Instead of helping, Mimi gave me an unnecessarily hard time, spoke to me in a nasty tone, and even made rude comments when I called my mom for help accessing the documents. Her attitude was completely unprofessional and stressful. What’s upsetting is that this isn’t a one-time thing, EVERY interaction with her has been the same. And after looking at the Google reviews, I realized I’m not the only one. Multiple customers have had the exact same issues with her behavior. Hertz as a company is usually great, and the other employees here are polite and helpful. But this location really needs to address the customer service problems at the front desk. I should not dread picking up a rental car.

I booked through Thrifty on purpose because I did not want to rent from Hertz. Only at pickup did I find out the location was actually Hertz. They were having some kind of global network outage, and the pickup process was chaotic. The staff at the counter were unfriendly. There is zero way to contact the store and it's not just this time, that's a big reason why I did not want to rent from here again. Weeks later, I was charged $34.86 for supposed tolls. I paid cash ($9.00 east/$9.00 back west ($4.50 which is crazy twice per direction) at staffed toll booths on the West Virginia, handing over $5 and getting 50 cents change each time. Hertz has provided no documentation at all, no date or location, nothing to show what they claim I owe. Just found a random $34 charge on my credit card. I've tried disputing the charge to just get lousy responses basically asking the same question as what I already stated. Run away fast from this company.

Had a scheduled reservation for Saturday at 12 p.m. and upon arrival find i sign on the door showing closed. Called Hertz and spoke to a representative and after about 35 min they found a transit van for me at the International Airport. I went to the airport and was told they didn't have what I need nor do they every have 12 passenger transit vans because they won't fit in the parking garage. Worst experience ever. I am not scrambling to find a van that will accommodate my family in less than 24hrs before we were set to leave on vacation. I scheduled this pick up in Carmel over 2 months ago. I even recieved confirmation and reminder emails for the appointment. Horrible business.

The experience I had here is overall awful. I had a booked reservation couple of days prior, to take a car, and leave it in Chicago, since I flew back home from O'hare. Not only did they cancel the reservation at 8AM on the day of travel, but refused to help in any way. Called every single location, and my call either does not go through, or they cannot help me. Utterly dissapointed. Do not recommend.

Reserved a car to return Sunday which I did. Location is closed Sundays so they charged me as if I had the car all day Sunday and most of Monday since they didn’t check the car in until 2 pm Monday even though it was there just after noon Sunday. My bill went from $106 to $297!

Was over charged 1000 miles extra on a one way rental returned to the location. Everytime I tried calling to correct the situation was put on hold and then hung up on. Finally after a 45 min hold and sharing a photo the odometer when returned CS agreed to correct the charges but still waiting for that correction

The rental car I received was short almost 1/8 of a tank of gas. I didn’t have time to go back in and deal with it, so I took a picture of the fuel gauge and mileage at pickup, and then another picture at drop off since they were closed at the time of drop off. I returned the car with more gas than it had at pickup. I wanted to return it with a full tank, but since they shorted me so much on fuel, I was forced to stop for gas about 30 miles from the return location to refuel so I wouldn’t run out of gas. I would have stopped much closer if they’d done their job and given me a car with a full tank. I didn’t have time to stop again to top off the tank, so it was a tiny tick below the full line. They charged me a $20 fuel charge. I have wasted 20 minutes trying to call the local office or Customer Service to resolve, but their phone tree is a horrible doom loop because they don’t really want to help anyone. No easy way to contact them via phone, email, or chat. They make it hard in purpose so you give up. So frustrating. I would just eat the cost but it’s a work trip and goes against company policy, so it’s a big, unnecessary headache. Car also didn’t drive well and had pet hair, no real cup holders, and filthy center console. This location had been hit or miss for me, as some past experiences have been good and others meh.
