Oryana was absolutely amazing!!! I’ve been to cookie cutters different locations several times with my 3 year old who hates hair cuts and she is the only person who took breaks with him, talked him through it, focused on what he was saying and made sure it was a good experience for him. She brought out toys, gave him a sucker and just praised him the whole time. She also did a good job on his hair. 10/10 Would recommend her and i will be going back to see her. She needs a raise!!

We had a wonderful experience for our little boy’s first haircut! We couldn’t be happier.

Terrible service and it was our first experience there. Took my 2.5 year old to get a haircut (walk in) at a kid oriented place. Thought it would be a wonderful and fun experience for him. Upon entering, the playground looked unkempt and dirty. There were two workers there who were giving haircuts. No one greeted us or said hello. After a while one lady said “be right with you” and continued on in her conversation with another adult. Then 5 more minutes went by before the second lady walked up to the front desk and just said “name?” No smile or welcome in, nothing. Customer service was super poor. I replied “oh we don’t have an appointment just walk in” and she said “oh. We can’t fit you in today”. Mind you she just finished a haircut, the other lady was occupied doing a haircut, and there was NO ONE ELSE in the lobby. We politely declined to schedule a future appointment with this specific salon and walked out. Super not impressed and very disappointed with a business that is supposed to be kid oriented. And just to specify the website says they accept walk-ins. We are new to the area as well and aren’t ecstatic about our first interaction trying to find a salon for our kids. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Let me start off by saying that my kid got exactly what she asked for and she’s very pleased. However, we won’t be returning. I called the day before to set up an appointment. They told me they had availability all afternoon, so I said “how about 2pm?” and they confirmed. We show up at 2pm and the lady at the front desk says “unfortunately your appointment was at 1:45pm and you didn’t show up.” I explained how that’s not correct and she stood firm on “no, your appointment was at 1:45.” I was then told I can wait 15 minutes and see if they can squeeze me in. My kid was already excited about the haircut, so we sat and waited a few minutes until they decided they’d do us a huge favor and not make us wait. Accidents happen and I’ve worked in customer service, so my patience is high. When she flat out told me I was wrong and it was entirely my fault for the mixup, then I got upset.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Cookie Cutters has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The staff is unbelievably rude and unprofessional — completely unpolite and dismissive. They act like they don’t even want to be there, let alone cut children’s hair. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and take your kids somewhere else where respect and basic manners actually exist.

TLDR: Doors locked 2 hours before closing with no explanation or communication from management. I made an appointment at this location for a child’s first haircut. The appointment was for 5pm which was two hours before closing on this date. I arrived 10 minutes early and found the doors to be locked and the lights off. I tried calling and no one answered. I called the store the next morning to inform them of the experience, and I was told to reschedule online. I understand that emergencies happen, and I truly hope that whoever was supposed to be there is okay. However, I do expect for management to handle clean-up from the situation better. I had to wake a baby from a nap, I dressed my son in a special “first haircut” outfit, and my husband left work early for this.

Unaccommodating. Rescheduled appointment. Showed up and they did not reschedule, but cancelled. Will not return

After making a haircut appointment over the phone four days in advance, I showed up on the scheduled day and time only to be unpleasantly surprised that there was no appointment under my son’s name. The only thing they said to me was, “His name isn’t here, and we can’t help you.” I explained that this was the second time this had happened to us, and I asked how they planned to avoid these issues in the future if they don’t send any confirmation or notification when an appointment is made. Their response was: “I don’t have time to keep talking to you. Have a good afternoon.” You can imagine how powerless and frustrated I felt in that moment. I will not be returning to this place. They were rude and disrespectful.

I had an appointment for my 2-year-old to get his hair cut at 4:30. We showed up at 4:35, just shy of the 7-minute cutoff, so I’m not free of blame here. We were cutting it close. Someone else was in front of us checking out and it was taking a while. When the woman at the desk asked who we were there to see, our stylist was standing right behind her. She said I was too late to keep the appointment. “Oh, I’ve already been standing here for a few minutes,” I said. “No you weren’t,” our stylist said. Then she ignored us and told the woman behind the desk, “I’m done for the day, I’m leaving.” She wheeled out her things, which were already packed up, and was gone. I was frozen with my son on my hip. She’d accused me of lying and then left. Both the other mom and the woman behind the desk just stared at me. I was so embarrassed. Then everyone turned away and just pretended I wasn’t there anymore. I took the hint and left. It would have been one thing to explain the policy and offer to reschedule for me, but to scold me and accuse me of lying, and then getting the silent treatment? I won’t include our stylist’s name here. I have to assume she was just having a bad day— I can’t imagine her job is easy— so I’ll extend her that grace. Even if I was late, I didn’t deserve to be treated like that by her or by the other employee who witnessed it. I had such a good experience the first time I was there, and I think that just added to my shock value. I’m too mortified to ever go back, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone I know to go here either after today.

“I had a very disappointing experience at Cookie Cutters Carmel. I took my 4-year-old son for a haircut, and the stylist, Maddie, had absolutely no patience with him. She spoke to him in a harsh tone, roughly turned his head, and showed no understanding that he’s just a small child who might move or be a bit restless. I had to step in and remind her to be more patient because he’s only four. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially in a place that claims to specialize in children. We will not be returning.”

I am so disappointed at the cut my son got today. They did a COMPLETELY different cut than request and even shown a reference picture. They cut off my sons baby curls and I am so sad. The haircut looks worse than when I walked in. I just needed them to shape up the top and sides and they went all out cutting off his curls. I can't get those back and to top it off the cut looks horrible and is still long around his ears! I spend the past hour crying and trying to scrunch my babies hair to curl. Very disappointing.

This place is great for kids, the video games and shows keep them very occupied and still for their cut! They are usually very busy but are well-staffed, just make sure to show up early cause they will cancel your appointment if you're not on time! Understandable but just something to know!
