I am so disappointed at the cut my son got today. They did a COMPLETELY different cut than request and even shown a reference picture. They cut off my sons baby curls and I am so sad. The haircut looks worse than when I walked in. I just needed them to shape up the top and sides and they went all out cutting off his curls. I can't get those back and to top it off the cut looks horrible and is still long around his ears! I spend the past hour crying and trying to scrunch my babies hair to curl. Very disappointing.

This place is great for kids, the video games and shows keep them very occupied and still for their cut! They are usually very busy but are well-staffed, just make sure to show up early cause they will cancel your appointment if you're not on time! Understandable but just something to know!

Zero tolerance policy even if you drove 25 minutes to get there and are 5 minutes late they will turn you away. Having small children and working parents should be met with some minor grace period

Had two boys cut appointments booked — one at 4:30 and one at 5. I arrived 10 minutes late, so knew I would have to reschedule the 4:30. They said they could try to work him in, which I appreciated. They cut my 2nd kids hair in 5 minutes (finished at 5:05), and then said again they would try to work my other son in. Fast forward to 4:50 and the stylist had not acknowledged me again in any capacity, and I had to ask someone else just be checked out so I could leave. Again with no acknowledgment from the stylist.
I don’t mind a reschedule when it’s my fault for being late, but I would have rather the stylist just say they couldn’t do it rather than have me (and my 1 and 3 year old) waiting for 45 minutes for nothing.
Also, I just read that they book appointments every 15 minutes…so after finishing my sons cut in literally 5 minutes, they then couldn’t do my other kid?? A joke 😂

We love our stylist there (Arnise). My son has curly hair, so that’s the only place we have been getting his haircut. HOWEVER, I made an appointment last week, got an email and text confirmation. Showed up and the lady at the desk said our usual stylist wasn’t there and that they sent us on notification to reschedule, which we never received! I even showed her my phone and she still didn’t believe me. I then proceeded to ask her if she could my son’s hair since we didn’t receive the notification to reschedule and she flat out refused. We were the ONLY people in the salon. She was incredibly rude and I hope she sees this review! It costs NOTHING to be kind. Every one is fighting a harder battle and she needs to show more compassion. She could have cut his hair, but chose not to. I will never be going back there again.

We had made an appointment for our son today and text message on phone confirmed correct date or time. Hair stylist was very rude and stated “system shows the next day” and would not accommodate and rudely dismissing my wife. If someone is on time and has confirmation for an appointment the least you can do as a business is be nice, compassionate and listen to customer’s issue. This type of treatment is not appropriate and I am going to take business elsewhere from now on and contact management. I would be warned for kids place they extremely strict, not understanding any delays beyond 5 mins. Heck a doctors off let’s you in 15 mins window so why more strict than that. This is just sad and I warn parents to steer clear.

I had the worst experience today. I showed up promptly at my 4pm appointment. I was told rudely that my appointment was for tomorrow at 4:15. It was a system error and not mine but there was no acknowledging that, just attitude.
I need to speak to a manager to get reimbursement of my prepaid card.

We’ve been loyal clients at the 146th St. studio, but after today’s experience, we won’t return. Heavy traffic caused us to arrive 10 minutes late for my little one’s appointment, wiithin 10 secs we were immediately told to leave and rebook.
Over the past year, we’ve patiently waited 10–30 minutes at every visit without complaint, yet they couldn’t extend the same courtesy. It’s disappointing to see such lack of empathy toward loyal customers.

We arrive early for a 4 o’clock appointment, and 30 minutes go by without anyone calling on us, while we watched every kid come in through the door and jump in their chair and get their haircuts done and leave. Once I let them know, they said your stylist is running behind and it will still be a few more minutes!! That stylist apparently spent the whole 30 minutes on one very cooperative kid. They were rude and unapologetic. We left without getting a haircut and we won’t be going back.

Really upset. We came from an hour away to experience my girls first haircuts. 5 year old twins. I called and asked if they had any availability 3-4 for both of them. She said yes 3:45, see you then. When we got there I asked about a wash and cut as I wanted to pamper my girls. They said no there wasn’t enough time because they were booked backed to back. I tried expressing that no one asked me on the phone what I was wanting for them and that I wanted a wash with it but they still said “cut only” and proceeded. They both got a trim which took 8 minutes max and then I was charged $50 for it. I’m super disappointed and almost in tears that we drove so far and I spent so much money on a few minutes that seemed to inconvenience them. Rating it 2 stars as the inside was really nice for young kids.

I have always scheduled appts for my kids ahead of time and I can always get in within a few days. Erica is the absolute best, so patient with the kids and the only person who can line up my 4 year old son’s hairline by his ears (I’ve tried 5 other people closer to home, they all made him look ridiculous). The shop is about a 20 minute drive for us but it’s worth it to see Erica!
