Saw a lot of negative reviews for this location, so after my visit this morning while visiting from out of town, I thought I would chime in.
I visited the unisex bathroom and men’s shower room. Both were mostly clean and well stocked with toilet paper. My one nitpick would be that the vent in the men’s shower room was very dirty and some of that dirt was on the outer wall of the shower.
As far as the equipment, overall it was in good working order. Just like the bathrooms, just a couple of nitpick items when comparing to the many other locations I have visited. There were fewer dumbbells than other locations and as pictured, the seated lat pull-down machine only had weight up to 95 pounds. I’m by no means a heavy lifter but that is a bit below what I would utilize it for (120 was today’s workout), so I had to do a kneeling lat pull-down instead.
Beyond that, I had no complaints in regards to the equipment or cleanliness of the gym. Overall a good location that allows you to get a good workout in.

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for the review. Just FYI for next time, the seated lat pull down is in Kilo's so the max capacity 95 Kg is actually equivalent to 209 lbs.
My overall experience working out here was great.
However I recently had to cancel mine and my wife’s memberships on April 7th, I did so in person, and signed/filled out the paperwork for both memberships. I was told we each had 2 more payments for the month of April. Cool, no problem. Those payments were taken. The last one being taken and processed on the 30th.
A day later I received a text saying there was an issue with my payment and give them a call. When I tried calling to clear up and let them know I had canceled no one answered the phone, I left a voicemail. I also received an email that I responded too. I didn’t receive a call or an email back. Then today I got another text about my “failed” payment and to give them a call back, called 2 minutes later, no response. Saw online that they have staffed hours from 10-2pm today. Went after work, got there at 1245 and no ones even there! Doors locked.
I called several times on Friday afternoon for no one to respond. And several times today before finding out no ones even on site.
This is not the first time I’ve tried calling this location and no one answered. It’s very frustrating. At least the fishers location returns phones calls.

I have fully looked into this situation and believe this was just a set of circumstances with unfortunate timing and I completely understand your frustration. This whole situation was simply an error in automation from the payment processing company but we will give you a call today to iron it out and explain. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner the other day.
I was looking for a gym close to home so I could start the new year off right and I couldn’t have found a better place than this! The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The equipment is mostly well kept, but that’s mostly due to some gym goers who abuse the equipment. I’m here once or twice a day and if I’m still in Carmel next year I’ll be renewing my contract. Shout out to Reese and Daniel.

i’ve had nothing but good experiences and encounters at anytime in carmel. the workers are friendly and available if i need any help or have any questions. they keep the equipment clean and organized. grateful for a gym like this that i can access 24/7

Going downhill fast. This is the perfect gym for an easy morning workout… but it is super dirty. The shower is just the start… the same hair has been in there for a week… the trash isn’t emptied on a regular basis, which is an issue in the ladies room, the other day there was 1/4 roll of toilet paper in one of the bathrooms and the others had none! I have raised concerns to management but they seemingly don’t care. My contract is up at the end of the month and will be canceling, hoping I don’t catch some kind of disease in the meantime ;)

I'm so sorry to hear that this has been your experience. Could you please contact us so that we may address your concerns directly? I promise we do clean on a daily basis but apparently there have been some things that have slipped through the cracks. We are also undergoing a full renovation this year to address some of these issues specifically. I would love the possibility to speak in person though if you are willing. Thanks
I have been a member for over ten years and have been to dozens of anytimes in several states, and this is probably the worst anytime fitness I ever visited. Lack of equipment variety, lack of site maintenance, and lack of reinvesting in the business. Check out AF in Shelbyville, Ky or Champaign, IL if you want good examples.

I'm so sorry for what your experience has felt like for you. I would love the opportunity to discuss these issues in person if you are willing. I promise we are 100% reinvesting in the business as we are currently awaiting delivery of a new fleet of cardiovascular machines and by the end of the year we will be undergoing a major renovation of the entire location. The past 2 years for us, we have been saving up capital to be able to afford that very thing. Hopefully the next time you stop in things will feel a bit different. Thank you for the feedback
I have seen many post by management degrading paying customers, arguing about complaints, and picking fights on Facebook. I have friends who have witnessed such events in person at the gym. Certainly doesn't seem like a welcoming environment. The location is FANTASTIC and convenient, however gyms should be welcoming.

There needn't be any specific event nor details that should be uttered to attest to the poor management of this location. The staff on-site are fine, but the inventory, equipment, environment, and cleanliness of this location are sorely amiss. To pretend that the operational standard of this particular location is anywhere near average would be inauthentic. Instead of an "ouch", how about a "how can we improve the overall experience"? I wish this location best of luck moving forward.
Share the same sentiments as other reviewers that understand how low quality and low effort the franchiser did with this location. One of THEE worst Anytime Fitness locations, period. Don’t go here if you want to actually achieve anything.

To garner a 1 star review from someone, or to improve upon the overall experience, yes, I would expect some sort of details more than broad statements without any type of specificity. How would anyone know that you ever stepped foot into the location from the provided details? I would be curious to know when you supposedly came to the club so that we may review alleged experience, as we have 0 record of you ever coming in, which is weird because every person through the door is tracked automatically. Unfortunately, I am unsure how to build upon your experience without more specificity of when you visited and what was lacking with the environment, equipment, cleanliness, or "inventory". (We are a gym, we dont have "inventory" unless our particular selection of preworkout drinks and protein bars offended you). At least with your other eleven 1-2 star reviews of other small businesses (50% of your total reviews), you added plenty of specificity. I too, wish you THEE best of luck moving forward!
