On one of the coldest days (-37 with the windchill) and our furnace decided to act up. Not an ideal situation for working at home! Rick was absolutely amazing! Got our furnace working and the house warmed up. So appreciative of the quick response to our call for help! Highly recommend Rick and Shorty's!!
Plumbing and install of new kitchen sink and taps. Also located a small leak on my basement ceiling. Put new seal on toilet. Extremely nice guy. Efficient and excellent work. Highly recommend.

Our 25 year old furnace finally needed to be replaced, Tech Rick showed up the same day I called to measure up and help us choose the best unit for our needs. By 8 am the next day Rick and Jr. Tech Josh showed up and did a professional installation from start to finish! One phone call and Job done!
Rick Beaudin was professional, fast, courteous, nice to my pets! Especially my cats :) Definately will refer my friends and family to Shorty’s for their A/C, HVAC, heating and plumbing service requirements :)
Rick did an absolutely fantastic job installing new dryer venting in my home. He was very Polite, professional, and explained all aspects of the job. He made sure the job site was thoroughly cleaned with his handy Shop Vac machine. Often this does not always happen with service professionals. Ask for Rick, he does a first-class job!!
I was very pleased with the service I had from Shorty’s. Jeff, the plumber, was very professional and knowledgeable. He found the problem with the toilet right away and fixed it. He also discovered that another part wasn’t working properly and was back the following week to install a new one.

We came home to a smoking gas furnace last night and contacted the Manitoba Hydro Gas Emergency Line and Shorty's 24/7 Emergency Line. Shawn Bridges from Shorty's sprung into action and was at our home within 30 minutes of placing the call. He worked with the Hydro Emergency tech to make sure everything was safe and began diagnosing the problem, which turned out to be a seized blower motor that caused the smoke and extreme heat in our furnace.
Despite discovering the problem, Shawn continued his inspection. He clearly takes pride in his craft, is thorough and empathized with our unfortunate situation, especially with 4 young children in the house (twin 4 mo. infants, 2yr and 5 yr old). His attention to detail uncovered a far more serious concern that would have gone undetected. He noticed large cracks in all 3 heat exchangers which would have continued to pump our house full of Carbon Monoxide (it's still a mystery why my CO detector didn't alert us). Hydro confirmed that CO was present and the cracks were a serious safety issue and shut off the gas service to our house. Scared and confused what this meant for us with 4 kids and -40 c temps Shawn started hooking us up with enough space heaters to keep us all warm and comfortable.
He explained that our furnace would need to be replaced and was very informative in providing us with options and very fair pricing on the spot, not to mention making a commitment to us that he would make sure he was available the next day at 8:30 a.m. to install the unit himself. Having used Shorty's twice before I knew I could trust that the options provided were fair, of superior value and didn't require shopping around. We approved the quote on the spot and as promised Shawn and his colleague Ryan showed up right on time and were quick to begin the work. They were extremely respectful and kept us updated with everything they were doing. They did an absolutely amazing job and less than 20hrs from when we had a smoking furnace, we now had a high quality brand new furnace in place and pumping some of that sweet sweet heat!
I couldn't be happier with the customer service, knowledge and expertise of Shorty's, Shawn and Ryan. On behalf of my wife and kids, we want to thank you so much for coming to our rescue when we were most vulnerable. Thank you!
From our initial contact with dispatch to when Mitch and Adam left our home; that is, after having completed an emergency repair on our ‘gushing’ boiler - we were impressed by, thankful for, and ultimately relieved by quality service, professionalism, and courteousness ~ thanks so much guys!
Although I didn’t end up going with Shorty’s I found Deborah extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Next time I think I’ll go with Shortys.

Impressed with everything and everyone right from the start ... to the gal who answered my call, you were impressive in how you handled our request, to the gal (Sam?) who returned my call in less than 10 minutes to make a booking (even though I called at 4:45pm) and to Brandon, who showed up to complete the leak, arrived exactly on time, and explained to me exactly what the issue was, we were very impressed with your service and would highly recommend your company to anyone!

Rick from Shorty’s Plumbing helped us out when we had problems with our HRV unit-it was New Years Day and he was the only business who answered the phone and took the time to help us! I recommend him and Shorty’s 100%!!
Excellent and professional service. I needed to get my hot water tank replaced. They had their tech come on the day before new years just to see what was wrong and then the service was booked 2 days later. They were on time and cleaned up after themselves. I asked if the tank could be moved and they did exactly what I asked. Somehow the furnace wasn't working after they left but I called and they were back in less then 20 minutes to fix it. I would definitely call them again if I have any issues.
Tech showed up on a Sat morning. He was able to find and fix the problem in a short period of time with the replacement part already on the truck. Highly recommend, very professional.
