Our October 2021 trip to Kashmir is something we three ladies would cherish for a lifetime and this was all thanks to Shahid of Gulmarg Ski Club accompanying us. A common friend introduced us to Shahid. Over numerous calls our itinerary was planned. We told him the hotels we would like to stay at Sonamarg, Srinagar & Pahalgam. He made all the hotel bookings for us at a discounted rate and also arranged our ground transport. Kashmir visit would not have been as wonderful without his presence throughout our journey to Sonamarg, Pahalgam and Srinagar. All the trepidations at the back of our mind about safety in Kashmir was forgotten within a few hours of meeting Shahid. His humility and childlike exuberance made us feel welcome and safe. He dealt with us with a whole lot of patience through our innumerable photo sessions, through our turtle paced treks at Sitkari and not so short shopping sessions in Srinagar and Pahalgam. With him accompanying us as a guide we felt extremely safe and at ease. The car journeys were fun with Shahid sharing various anecdotes and stories that left us amused. And through those conversations we learnt that he is a lead Ski Trainer with Gulmarg Ski Club and also takes treks to Kashmir Great Lakes and Tarsar Marsar in Summers. We look forward to someday learning skiing from him and even indulge in short treks to Tosa Maidan. I distinctly remember on our second last day in Srinagar when we were to leave for Doodhpatri and he was to leave for Pahalgam for leading a trek group. We three ladies knew that our visit to Doodhpatri would not be as much fun without Shahid! But all good trips come to an end and so did this Kashmir sojourn so with a heavy heart we bid Shahid a warm farewell at the exact same point as we had met him the first time. We had an awesome trip and in Shahid we made a friend for life. So now no future trip to Kashmir is complete till we meet Shahid!! In 2022 when we ladies went to Ladakh and ended our trip in Sonamarg….it was a perfect ending to another beautiful trip when we met Shahid at a picnic spot in Sonamarg albeit for a real short time. Our good wishes are always with Shahid and Gulmarg Ski Club and hope we travel more often to Kashmir and meet this wonderful gentleman or pack him on all our trips!! 😊

The beauty of Kashmir is extraordinary.Tosa Maidan Greater Lake Trek I completed by Sahil Sir's company (Gulmarg Ski Club). Everything from food to management was very good. I would suggest everyone to do a trek with this Sahil sir. Sahil sir's poetry will make your journey more beautiful.

I had a very nice experience with Gulmarg Ski Club. It's the second time that we went with them. They are very professional and experts in their field. Very friendly too and well known in Gulmarg. They pay attention to each and every person while teaching to ski. Very skilled and patient team I would say. The trainer might not be near you but their eyes are always on you wherever they are. That's the amount of attention they pay. They constantly give tips on how to get better and are always there for you. They are very passionate about the sport. Not even once did anyone from the trainers get frustrated with us for making mistakes. I'm definitely going for the next levels of skiing with them.
Shahid is extremely patient and friendly with his customers and turns the journey into a wonderful experience. Would certainly visit again.

Right after we reached Srinagar everything was taken care of by Gulmarg ski club. The pick-up and drop, hotel and food, daily taxis to ski slopes, ski gears/clothes, professional ski instructors and ski tickets.
The team is amazingly talented and professional. You would not regret choosing them as your go-to-guys for skiing and snowboarding.
One of the best experiences. Down to earth instructors and staff. Good connection over gulmarg. Went there for a 6 day ski course. Money well. Learnt a lot and enjoyed a lot.
