Fantastic all round. I stayed over the weekend with some family and we had the best time. The lodge is decorated beautifully and the location couldn’t be better. The property had everything you could need and was pristine throughout plus the beds were incredible. Will definitely return!

We stayed here this weekend just gone and what can I say. It’s a beautiful property right in the heart of everything. If you didn’t need to actually get there you wouldn’t need a car at all. If I could give it 10 stars I would!

We stayed at Lodge cottage for a reunion with friends. The cottage was a perfect place to make fantastic memories. The cottage is complete luxury, beautifully decorated and furnished to a high standard. It keeps it's original quirky features and is super cozy with it's three log burner fires. It is well equipped with all the essentials you would need and more. We stayed in the stunning bedroom with the copper bath and wow my soak in the tub was a treat after a long hike up Mamtor. We all commented on how comfy our beds were and we were all extremely happy with our bedrooms. There is lots of pretty outside space to relax also. The private parking was great and an absolute bonus as the cottage is in the centre of Castleton. There is lots of street parking too just outside the cottage if needed. The location was just perfect. It was a fabulous trip away and Lodge cottage was nothing less than perfect. Highly recommended.

I stayed at beautiful Lodge Cottage with friends on a recent hiking trip and cannot recommend it enough. Lucy is the perfect host, she is super friendly and helpful and even gave us recommendations for dinner. The cottage is perfectly situated in the centre of Castleton, it is incredibly quiet and the perfect spot for a super chilled weekend. The cottage is immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you could wish for; even proper filter coffee and a large supply of logs for the fire. I will definitely stay again and recommended to others - a 5 star experience. Thanks Lucy x

Stayed here last weekend and what a fantastic house it was!!! Tucked away just off the centre of Castleton with access to all the walks you could want. The house itself is spacious and finished to a really high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped and with a log burner in the kitchen, dining room and living room it was a cosy place to relax in after a long day's hiking in the elements. The bedrooms where all of good size and each had its own feature the free standing Cooper bath being one of them 😀 We had 8 adults there for our stay and there was enough room for all the place is like a tardis! I would highly recommend anyone to book. Fantastic property and a credit to the owners !!

Lodge cottage is just beautiful. Cosy, comfortable and luxurious. Local shops to buy wine, beers, cakes etc all in walking distance and plenty of pubs to choose from for evening meals. We look forward to returning.

A group of 7 of us booked Lodge Cottage over New Year's and have had such a fab stay. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the perfect space with lots of considered touches making it a warm and cosy place to relax in. The location is great, with a less than 2 minute walk to the centre of Castleton giving lots of options for walking routes and places to eat and drink. Thank you for having us and we hope to return in the future.

Spent a lovely 4 nights at Lodge Cottage in December. From the point of booking and leading up to our stay, Lucy kept us informed and provided lots of information and local sights to see etc. The cottage itself is 'picturesque' and well maintained, clean and tidy. The location is ideal in the centre of Castleton. I would recommend staying here to anyone and we will definitely be returning some time in the future.

The pre-arrival communication was fantastic, speedy replies and a very informative guide to Lodge Cottage. The accommodation was amazingly clean of a very high standard and made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The location was so central to all the very good walks, shops, cafes, pubs, Peveril Castle and the caverns. We have already enquired about rebooking for 2024. Thank you Greystones Cottages for such a wonderful experience.

Another gorgeous family weekend at Lodge Cottage! After a lovely stay last winter, we rebooked to kick off our festive season this year and it couldn’t have been a better start to Christmas! The Christmas trees and decorations were up at Lodge Cottage and it felt as warm and cosy as we remembered it. We were lucky enough to wake up to a thick blanket of snow in Castleton! The children loved making a snowman and coming back in to warm by the fire and have a hot chocolate (we hadn’t actually thought to bring hot choc with us, so was especially grateful that the hosts had provided plenty of it for us!) In a cold and frosty weekend, the cottage was a toasty and warm haven. Endless cafetières of coffee and pots of tea by the log fire whilst the kids played with some of rhetorical board games, it was so easy to feel relaxed. I couldn’t think of a better place to start Christmas, thank you Lodge Cottage - we hope to be back again next winter.

We have just returned from a fantastic break at Lodge Cottage! The cottage is warm and welcoming, and the location is idyllic, providing easy access to the village centre and iconic landmarks such as Peveril Castle and Mam Tor. The interiors were beautiful and effortlessly balanced modern comfort with traditional charm. The attention to detail was evident throughout, from the quality cookware to the thoughtfully provided essentials. Additionally, the dining area offered a lovely spot to enjoy meals, with a rustic atmosphere that added to the overall ambiance, especially when the fire was lit to add extra warmth and charm. We enjoyed time in the little cottage garden, which was the perfect spot to start the day with a cup of coffee or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine. The hospitality extended by the hosts was exceptional, with a personalised touch that made me feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a visitor. Their knowledge of the local area and willingness to offer recommendations for activities and dining options enhanced my overall experience. We very much look forward to returning for a longer break!

We stayed at Lodge Cottage during the summer holidays and to say we were impressed by the property would be an understatement. The cottage is in the centre of Castleton and is both luxurious and comfortable - I felt like I’d stepped into the pages of Country Living! There were five adults and five children on our break but there was more than enough space for us all. I especially loved the huge copper bath in the downstairs bedroom - a heavenly way to end a long day walking the nearby routes, before a lovely meal in the local pub. A fantastic break, our family loved it!

Wonderful place to stay. The cottage is very well equipped, full of character and nice touches as well as being in a great location. Lucy was super helpful with our queries and nothing was too much trouble. We were an extended family of 7 plus a dog and we had plenty of space. Thanks for an amazing time!
