Visit of a 750 year old pub
Just wanted to experience a beer in a pub full of character with my son who was over for the christmas break. Had beers from the Wolf Brewery ( Lupus Lupus & 2021 ) plus the Coffee Milk stout ( Harveys ?) which were in in great condition and very drinkable. Had a fantastic history lesson from Justin about the pub and it's past. Looking forward to another visit in the very near future.

Have nothing bad to say about this pub. It’s our local and one of our favourite pubs. We visited today for Sunday dinner, our first time having Sunday dinner here and it was lovely. Waiting time may seem a little while but with good company, conversation and a drink in hand, I don’t see the issue!
The staff are ALWAYS very polite and attentive when needed.
Previous visits have been fab too. Food is always lovely. Again, with a slight wait but personally if I’m in no rush I don’t care.
Pub is quirky and cosy, and the beer garden is one of my favourites in regards to space especially for dogs and children!

Lovely food & great quality. Portion sizes just perfect so managed to fit in a dessert, which I normally don't do. Service with food was excellent but once we'd finished our main meal, service became erratic. We were left with our empty plates in front of us for a long time. Had to ask for the dessert menu as it wasn't offered. We ordered a glass of wine 3 times, which never came. However, we were charged for it on our bill. Staff did apologise & remove the charge from the bill. I would recommend but service does need a little more attention, even though I appreciate it was a busy evening with pre Christmas drinkers.

Booked in for 7pm, food didn't arrive til after 9pm and all meals were barely warm. Was not advised that steaks had to be ordered on booking. There was a mix up on one of the meals so that was taken back and that diner had to wait. Dessert menu was too small and the two that were ordered were mixed and as one of those diners had a nut allergy, it was a bit concerning. We were a party of nine but we won't be going here next year.

Disappointed ?, last time I ate here the food was amazing, but it saddens me to say we ate here last night and the food was very average this time, the burger I had wasn't a patch on a Wetherspoons offering and was poorly presented and the actual quality of the burger was not what I expected, my fiancées had scampi and again the portion of scampi was very tight and the presentation again was poor and considering we were eating at 7.30pm they even ran out of a certain ale and the table next to us was of the same opinion, I'm gutted to write this review as the last time I ate here the food was amazing and the choice of ales was good as well
