A great place to work with an amazing work culture!
I have been at GJR for a year, and it has been the best place I have ever worked. It has a great work culture with people who care about you as an employee and a person. There are chances for advancement and good job security. I have loved being able to help children and families, and the people at GJR in IN have made even the hard times more enjoyable. Pros: The culture of GJR is so supportive and cares about you as an employee and a person. Cons: The nature of the work is hard because of working with children and families in hard situations.
Flexible schedule, remote work, great management, good PTO plan.
The flexibility of creating your own schedule is a huge benefit of working here. Working remote and in the field is a nice balance of not being stuck doing the same thing over and over. Management is fantastic to work with and there is plenty of PTO time to use. Floating holidays and a bonus day are a plus as well. Pros: PTO plan, It's a very independent job, Not micro managed, Great Management and co workers, very flexible schedule
A Supportive Environment
Honestly when I first hired on with GJR in Indiana, I anticipated this organization being a stepping stone to start off my career. Here I am, nearly 7 years later, and there's so many things that I love about the organization. The nature of the work is so hard, but the teams and leadership we have make it so worth it. One of my biggest fears going into the workforce was that I wasn't prepared the way I thought I was and that I would be so embarrassed any time I didn't do anything up to standard - however, literally any time I have fallen short or made a mistake in the time I've been with GJR has been viewed as a learning experience by all parties involved. Our leadership truly cares about each individual staff and their needs even beyond the job and do what they can to meet those needs as much as possible. We would not be able to provide the services we do without the fantastic team members and our leadership. Pros: Compensation is competitive, PSLF eligible, positive and supportive work environment, many opportunities for learning and growth within the company Cons: The nature of the work is difficult, some evening hours
Love GJR in IN!
GJR is a great place to work for anyone who values balance, support, and meaningful impact. The flexible work schedule makes it easy to maintain a work-life balance, and the upper management is consistently supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in employee growth. One of the most rewarding parts of working at GJR is the opportunity to help people work through their struggles—whether clients or colleagues—creating an environment that feels both compassionate and purpose-driven. Overall, GJR fosters a positive culture that encourages personal and professional fulfillment.
Went there as a youth 15 years old 1970-72 after being a gang member and getting into much trouble and not enough schooling, first time away from home and stayed close to 2 years at Sharam Hall, almost seems like forever but l survived, no bad memories, just no girls smh, surprised they still in existence

It's so nice to hear from you! Thank you for leaving a review!
I was transported from juvie to George Jr. from around November-December of 2018 and got out of there in March 2019 and I just wanna say, my attitude and behavior had changed a lot when I was there, it sucked that I had to spend Christmas and my birthday in there but I changed for the better. I just wanna say thank you to Mr. G, Mr. E, Mr. Andy and some of the female staff members there for just looking out for me and try to help me out the best of there abilities. Yall are amazing, I’m now 22 years old going to college and playing sports. 😊

A great place to work
Working at George Junior Republic in Indiana has been a unique and rewarding experience. As an employee, I’ve had the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of youth who are often facing significant challenges. The mission of the organization—to help at-risk youth grow into successful adults—is one I genuinely believe in, and it's fulfilling to be part of that effort. Pros: Work has real purpose and impact, Valuable hands-on experience, Supportive coworkers and leadership, Schedule flexibility Cons: High Stress Environment: Due to the nature of the work and the behaviors presented by some youth, it can be emotionally and physically demanding. Burnout is a real risk without strong self-care.
Solid place to work
Solid place to work if you are out of college and entry level with a chance to make a ok (not great) but with overtime not horrible salary while getting experience. Micromanaged environment. Administrators do not care - they just need you to babysit the residents so they can take in big money
Unwelcoming and toxic environment
Very clique environment, favoritism, blatant unsafe practices of long time employees are ignored while minor mistakes of very new employees are pointed out and recorded continually. Typical day was relaxed and easy to do. Hardest was very long drives with behavioral issues. Enjoyable to witness success of persons served. Management was not supportive and culture was very negative, often going behind other's backs and inflammatory gossip. Picture Mean Girls only with grown ups. Horrible department. Pros: Interactions with positive people, watching kids succeed Cons: Backstabbing co-workers and poor management
I was there somewhere around 2003-2005, I transferred from juvie, and it rehabilitated my life. I'm on the straight and narrow now. I even have my finn Titans shirt still from the field day they did! The cottage crew was so nice!
