Newest update. That'll do it. How can a place that was so excellent get so bad so fast? It's crazy! And that's the last time we're eating at Gianni's. Soggy, uncooked pizza complimented by burnt, overcooked Chicken Parmigiana. And I didn't include pics of the eggplant that crept out of it's breading like the monster from Aliens. Is there an Italian restaurant on the planet the doesn't have soup?!? Yeah. Giannia's.
I feel I must update my review. The pizza crust at Gianni's has always been close to soggy-crust, but always tasty. They were our favorite for the past year. These days, there's no crisping the crust up when getting take out. It's just soggy and now the sausage is clearly re-used from, let's say, earlier in the day.
We miss Filippo's circa 1999.
This is Florida food burn-out. Snow birds leave and the quality suffers; patrons in the area just can't tell the difference among all the bad, chain-restaurant food in this area.
The only place with consistently excellent bar food is Brewster's on Main Street. I figured they'd burn out, but they haven't.

Hey, Bill! We put a coating of garlic butter on our crusts that obviously just isn’t to your liking for takeout. As far as the sausage…..we make it fresh in house. It’s not old. We use fresh ingredients and make things from scratch. As far as Filippo’s…..it must not have done so well since they sold to the people we bought it from. It’s never been, nor will it be, our goal to be less than for our locals. We strive for excellence for all patrons. We do appreciate your feedback, but we’d see it faster in an email.
Stopped in late and wife got chicken pesto and I got pizza I am from New York so I am a pizza snob but the food was spectacular! It looked like it was from a 5 star resturaunt. The pride shown in the preparation said it all

Sherry, as a former employee, you know very well there was an air conditioning issue that has since been fixed, but you turning it down to 60° was part of the problem. You kept freezing up the unit. We’ve reported this review as disingenuous due to your former employment. And giving us a 1 for service is really rich since people stopped coming while you were bartending there since you didn’t know how to even make basic drinks. Not sure why you’re being so rude when you decided to quit (although it was a decision we’d planned to make also.) In any case, this “review” has been reported.

There is air conditioning…we’ll be sure to have the staff turn it down earlier in the day and check for any issues. As far as the insults, that is not at all how we operate. We hope you were able to discuss any issues with the manager. We offer our sincerest apologies.

First time at this restaurant in ordered a vegetable pizza to go that was absolutely delicious. I’ve tried numerous other pizza locations in Sarasota and that gets a high rating. Staff is very nice.

So I knew that a new group had moved into the spot right around the corner from my home. We have waiting for a good place to get good pie. Last night I went in around 8:15. I was greeted by Will and Jessica. I was served a perfect temp beer with a cold pint glass, and I ordered 2 pizza’s. Jessica prepared the pizzas right in front of me as I sat at the bar. Great conversation and excellent service. I took the pies home to feed my family. They were Hot and great! Please go out and support this local business! Let’s keep this group in this location! Enjoy the service and great food!!
